  1. There were several occasions where David Harvey played for Leeds wearing his red Umbro Scotland goalie top. Not sure what Leeds' kit makers (Admiral, I think) made of it, although I'd imagine kit contracts were light years apart from where they are nowadays.
  2. Not me, for certain. A fellow poster mentioned it a few pages back.
  3. If the rumours are true about it yellow away kit, there wouldn't be any real need for a third kit as there's unlikely to be a clash with anyone else in the division.
  4. We had a third kit in the McKinnon season (white with red trim) as the navy home strip and dark green RemembeR strip weren't much use when we played Falkirk and Hibs. I'm pretty sure it was exactly the same strip we then wore as an away strip during the Barry Smith season.
  5. The first episode starts after they lost the European Cup Final to Bayern Munich, on the back of some dodgy officiating, and the subsequent decline, right through to when Howard Wilkinson revived them. It's a brilliant series and each episode is only about ten or twelve minutes long. My absolute favourite bit is the referee standing on the pitch shouting into a mic for the crowd to leave the pitch as under no circumstances is he going to abandon the game. Visits from the two Manchester clubs suggest that the War of the Roses never quite finished.
  6. Pittodrie pre-all seater and the architect's model of the proposed development.
  7. There's a brilliant series called Leeds United The Wilderness Years - available online and YouTube where McQueen has a proper square go with David Harvey when they almost conceded from a corner. The whole series is brilliant, but I think this incident was possibly episode 8.
  8. Hopefully they GTF from the challenge cup as well.
  9. They would still somehow manage get the average loss of £150k per season into the story.
  10. Fingers crossed they withdraw from the Challenge Cup as well.
  11. Sad news. Never met him, but everyone I spoke to who did meet him, said he was a really decent spud.
  12. Fair play to you. You must have given him food for thought and he heeded your advice.
  13. I can only presume the match sponsors get the use of the 27-11 lounge, whereas the ball sponsors are in the Raith Suite, but I might be wrong. Seems strange that they've included mascot packages in the brochure, but no mention of one off hospitality. The brochure itself is certainly much more professional and informative than anything we've produced before.
  14. Not that I'm aware of. The extra shares issued diluted John Sim's ownership down to 49%. I don't think it was a case of John Sim selling some of his shares to the consortium, more a case of increased share capital which consequently gives the consortium 51%.
  15. I thought there was an additional share issue so that Sim has the same number of shares, but a lesser percentage.
  16. Some pictures of Aberdeen's Scottish Cup winning side from 1970 and the dramatic rescuing of the trophy from Pittodrie after fire broke out in the main stand in February 1971
  17. Sorry, I was confusing your post with the Nisbet sell on clause posts.
  18. I knew a guy who was a history lecturer. His motto was "To understand the present and future, you need to understand the past." Sage advice.
  19. That CEO was pre-Sim. The same CEO that gave Bates away for nothing and sanctioned the loan of Lewis Vaughan to a club in a relegation battle with us. Oh, and I nearly forgot, the same CEO that left us with Ryan Stevenson in goals for a relegation six pointer because he didn't quite understand the rules, despite the fact he was on a SPFL committee.
  20. Saints legend Tommy Bryceland in the early stages of his career
  21. I'm not sure which I'd prefer - giving them an absolute bleaching or winning 1-0 with a goal from a handball or foul on the goalkeeper, sending Dodds apoplectic. Maybe we can do both then have a wee debate on here as to which was the more enjoyable.
