How are you seeing adverts in this day and age?

My TV may be of the “old school” variety

I imagine the reveal today will be massively underwhelming tbh

Yip. I’d imagine the opening of golf courses, garden centres, fishing being allowed and dumps reopening to stop  fly tipping

You are unreal here, been greeting for pages on end about being allowed to live a normal life again and when it gets mentioned we could open pubs with some rules you're greeting that it won't be the same. Will you ever be happy again?

It’s not being allowed to live a normal life though. Sitting at tables with Perspex at the sides, staff wearing masks and gloves, one way systems, no condiments on the table etc. I just don’t see that as a pleasurable night out tbh

They are a vital part of daily life in many countries, including in Hong Kong and the Philippines where I now live.  Closing them down would not be an option at all - they are often the only places for miles where people can buy food and produce.  Sure, lessons are to be learned but closing them down  isn't an option in a lot of countries.

I didn’t know eating bats, snakes or dogs heads were deemed as “vital”.

  3. Adverts are always annoying but right now they’re unbearable. In the last ad break there’s been folk thanking Uber drivers, one of families video calling (PG Tips), the annoying Nationwide “how are you?”. Asda “we’re all in this together” Suprised I’ve not seen the Jason Leitch one in the last hour. Fcking rips me.

The lack of leaks out of Bute House so far apart from the Schools stuff in the Daily Record (and that's been obvious for logistic reasons for about a month now) makes me think we really are gonna be getting a reheated version of BoJo - 1 Month....

I never thought it would be anything else apart from this. Basically see how England copes and if a “spike” or “second wave” happens then announce a longer lockdown, if not then follow the stages as they’re doing

I think some folk have over inflated the scale of this covid problem.  Lets remember:

There are approximately 7-8 BILLION people on the planet (slowly increasing in recent years)

Death totals in recent times have been approximately 57 MILLION per year (slowly increasing but not as fast as births)

Deaths being attributed to Covid Virus are currently reported as approximately 300 THOUSAND (say 1 million by the end of the year now that South America and Africa have joined the race).  A graph showing year by year global deaths will hardly show an upward blip.

Its sad that anybody is taken by this virus before their time, but remember that many of the deceased had serious underlying health issues and did not have long life expectancy.

Past pandemics would laugh in the face of this recent Chinese import.

Yer gonna die, live life to the fullest, love yer family and football team.

It’s nice that more and more posters are seeing sense over this whole situation.

Not only is it good news, but flies in the face of everyone saying that people cramming in to tube trains are about to die and kick off the second wave.

First comment. Silly me. Forgot 2020 was cancelled.

“Next spring” Fcking hell. Wrap these people in bubble wrap before they next leave the house 😑

When are we expecting the hills to 're-open' as such? My mate who follows James English on twitter was saying he's been regularly taking in Munros during lock down, which I'm assuming is against the government guidelines.

I can’t speak for Munro’s but I’ve still been walking the hills here since lockdown began. There’s a few hill routes that are walkable from my house so I don’t even need to take the car to them. Tbh if it hadn’t been for walks and hikes during this lockdown I dread to think where I’d be

I actually saw the picture myself, but it was in a piece about Brewdog.

I think tbf no one is really going to complain if that is what pubs look like in July. It's if they still look that way in September it's farcical.

What do bars look like in other countries that are open? If not like this, why do we need to try to reinvent the wheel?

Remember the talk was no pubs would be open in the UK before Nov 🙄

Now just to get a plan in place for the football to return

Our Far Eastern members will know better @Tight John McVeigh is a tit @SlipperyP, but I think wet markets are just food markets where they spray a lot of water around to extend the freshness. Live and especially wild animals should probably be banned. Get everything sold in nice cellophane packs like here.

Seeing snakes and dog heads at these places is a mindfck. I’m vegetarian so I’m probably the worst person to talk about these wet markets, but things like snakes and dogs shouldn’t be eaten 😞

I see Hearts are going to try and get reconstruction agreed again this week, with a top league of 14 or16.
If it was 16 would you back it?

Definitely. It would be great for us financially. Money from the TV deal, an increase in crowds. It’s  a no brainer. The only negative would be having to cleanse Somerset when the hordes from Glasgow play us there

Some more photographs of Portobello Beach, this time from the Evening News.

    Image

Again, from what I can see of that photograph, no-one is obviously breaching distancing.

The area around Portobello Beach has a lot of tenement flats as well so many people living nearby won't have any garden or outdoor space.

I see no difference in that pic to the scenes at the supermarkets or B&Q. This shaming culture is tiresome af

The Nike store in Bishopbrigss was closed for cleaning for a weekend in early March. It would seem fairly obvious now that one of the staff from there had attended that conference.

I find it strange that the excuse used for not making it public knowledge at the time was patient confidentiality, but within a coupl of weeks they were naming care homes etc that had cases.

I’m sure the one in Glasgow was shut for “cleaning” at that time as well. Even now they’re still trotting out the “patient confidentiality” line, while at the same time throwing private run care homes under the bus

Looks bearable if in the boozer with one other. Non runner for any more than that.

Edit - Any mention of going to the toilet?

An unavoidable crowding point unless you need to book a slot!

Suprisingly no mention of the toilet. Probably staff will be patrolling there to make sure you wash your hands!

I'll die before I accept no condiments on my table.

I know. Who doesnt add more tomato sauce once you get nearer the bottom of the pile of chips?

  14. Neither the Scottish Government or Westminister can hold their heads high in their handling of this. The Nike conference cover up, sending untested oldies into care homes, not testing or putting into quarantine  flight passengers from overseas. Absolute madness

An engineered virus has been ruled out by those who know about these things, so it came from a bat probably, maybe after coughing in a pangolin's face just before it was served for dinner. Or the sample might have accidentally leaked from a lab, I don't think anyone thinks it happened deliberately. It will be near impossible to prove to everyone's satisfaction which. China have stuff to sort out whether it be food hygiene or lab security and H&S, but fixating on which just helps promote a cold war and global economy meltdown which is seemingly Trump's re-election strategy, just to add to the problems of recovering from Covid. Other bugs will naturally evolve and transfer in the future anyway, we should be using this as a massive and deadly data resource to learn how to do better next time, and hopefully prevent one.

The wet markets should be closed down after all this. Fcking joke that the world has stood still because some manky kunt decided eating a bat would be a good idea.

Turns out i was right with that lol, can see Docherty trying to make a u-turn at the last minute and stay with us.

Which in my view wouldn't bother me and be quite funny as he would effectively be giving McCall the middle finger but i know others views are he has burnt his bridges with us.

I hope he doesn’t stay with us. He was quite happy to jump ship to go to a “bigger club” so let him go and experience life in League 1 again.
