Indeed. There are of course inefficient people and brown nosers working needlessly long hours but certain jobs simply require you to go beyond the contract hours. If you’re in a competitive service industry especially. If you let a client down because you insist on leaving baby on 5pm and lose that client, you will lose your job.

I also listened to parts of this on the drive back to Edinburgh yesterday and was in disbelief at hearing Tanner. I thought we were rid of that c**t forever.

I don't really have a problem with right wing views being aired in an appropriate environment. What I struggle with is the idea that putting an unfunny video (offensive or not) that caused a bit of controversy on the internet makes you worthy of such a platform.

Sky sports gift to football. The change in view of success to financial gain instead of winning football competitions. The size of the tv deal now a measure of progress. See England for the amount of teams that would rather finish 17th in the premier league than win a trophy. Rangers fans like to engage in this ‘what about the tv deal’ nonsense because it bigs them up and devalues what Celtic did in their absence. If they looked objectively they’d realise it’s a very sad indictment on the sport as a whole. The very fact some people suggest celtics league wins didn’t really count is absolutely depressing.

Try hards. As mentioned earlier it’s always been a blend of subtle and in your face humour. The beauty of it is you normally notice new things every time you rewatch it. Partridge for me has always been the facial expressions and awkward body language that has made me laugh most as opposed to the main “jokes” that are made. This time seems no different in this regard. The one show may well be an ‘easy target’ but it’s worthwhile in that’s it’s on every night on state funded tv depicted as a serious output. As ridiculous as partridge is there’s always an element of being able to relate to a real life tv/radio host who would do something similar. On the flip side, there are people I meet who claim they like partridge but all they ever do is quote “smell my cheese!” And it angers me as they clearly don’t get it.

Went from a strong 18 mile run last weekend to a pishy 11 mile run today breathing out my arse. Been running/going to gym 6 days a week for 2 months now so going to put it down to fatigue but am really quite grumpy about that this morning.

This available on demand? I enjoy the podcast on and off. They’re better than sportsound in the knowledge and breadth of teams covered but sometimes find them a bit try hard with their patter.

Depends what you mean. It would be crass to deny that every club has elements that turn up and use sectarian terms such as ****** at Celtic/rangers games particularly, so in that regard it is a national issue. As for a deep rooted, societal, what school did you go to type culture outside of a football stadium, it simply doesn’t exist in Aberdeen (from personal experience) and can bet that it doesn’t in Dundee or most of eastern Scotland. But if we’re serious about stamping it out at football we can’t pretend some diddy clubs don’t engage in the act, even if it is just a retort to Celtic/rangers fans during a game.

Oh well if the tv companies said so [emoji1] Why is anyone engaging with this?
