  1. The fact that our experienced players are signing for other Lowland League teams is a bit concerning, but reflects their actual level I guess. That's why we finished bottom. Todd is slow an prone to the odd error but is pretty decent otherwise. Just wanted to say I was one of Bobby Barr's biggest critics, thought he was just there to pick up a wage under Bollan, but once Ross was manager he put in a decent shift most games, and was the only one in the second play off game who looked like he might change the game.
  2. Gutted to lose Mango, nothing but praise for his efforts for us.
  3. If players leave for teams in a higher division then fair enough. But losing the like of Morrison, who has a Cowdenbeath connection, for a team in the same division does worry you a bit.
  4. Sorry to see Liam go, but it's hardly a surprise. The manager just didn't fancy him as a player in spite of his goalscoring record. I really hope Maurice isn't one of those managers who, the more fans clamour for a player to play, the less likely he is to play him.
  5. The damage was done last week but I was really disappointed we didn't give it more of a go ,getting forward in numbers and taking a chance at the back. The front two were left to get on with it and try to create something from long hopeful punts up the park. When Ross first came in we were trying to build from the back and play possession football, but for some reason he abandoned this and went all Bollanesque, and had exactly the same problem Bollan had, a midfield that couldn't win a second ball to save its life. Another pish ref yesterday as well.
  6. Our luck was bound to run out eventually. If we can turn this round it will be a miracle.
  7. Your highlights package was excellent, really first class, though I watched it from behind the couch.
  8. Who knows? I have not been all that impressed with either side when they played against us but both have displayed a remarkable ability to dig out results while playing poorly. Exactly the opposite to ourselves sadly.
  9. Buttocks??? A Freudian slip if ever there was one.
  10. Don't think it will be the same ref buttocks be wrong.
  11. Swann should have been subbed after the first yellow. Not being wise after the event, said it at the time, you could see it coming. It just wasn't worth the risk.
  12. Think I'll go on the pars thread to cheer myself up.
  13. Similar to our last day defeat at Alloa. Wrong team selection(player of the year not considered worth a place Robbie Buchanan why?) No discernible tactics, poor refereeing decisions lack of fight from some players. Better effort in the second half with ten men, but Harvey should have been subbed after his first yellow. Bonnyrigg are not all that great but don't look like the kind of team that will blow a three goal lead.
  14. If that's what happens when I don't go to games, I think I'll give the playoffs a miss.
  15. Thought the referee was really good yesterday. Sadly he was the only one. Second half we tried to be more positive and it opened the game up a bit. I was hoping our new signing from Cruden Bay would get a run, he looked good when he played against Stenhousemuir, but it seems like he will be out for four weeks
  16. I don't know why we persist with this game management shut up shop crap for the last 15 minutes of every game where we're ahead because we're no good at it. Why not stick to the method that got us in the lead in the first place. Instead of counter attacking the ball is simply booted any old place meaning we are under constant pressure. No wonder we lose late goals. Mullen and Swann on the bench and Robbie Buchanan at left back. What's that about.
  17. You are right of course, and I wasn't trying too scapegoat Robbie but he Craig Barr and the keeper are the only three who haven't missed out at some point. The other two I can understand but Robbie's form has been in and out the last few games
  18. Can we try starting a game without Robbie Buchanan please? We looked very disjointed yesterday. I think we were trying to play a pressing game up front ,but only the front two were doing it. You could see Liam getting more and more frustrated Stranraer just overpowered us.
  19. We should have given Tam the Bam the manager's job when we had the chance.
  20. I hope Maurice isn't a Bollan type who, the more fans clamour for a player to be included, the less likely he is to play him. Every time Barr comes on as a sub he looks full of energy and plays quite well and every time he starts he does next to nothing. To be fair to him punting high balls up to him is never going to work. Presumably the plan was to hit balls over the top for him to chase but Stirling just sat deep and mopped everything up. In contrast Stirling played an immobile but good in the air target man and had pacey strikers running off him. Not pretty : but pretty effective. If we have signed technically better players surely we should be getting the ball down and passing our way through teams. Having said all that, the first goal was a gift, the perfect boost for a side short on confidence and we had most of the game thereafter but didn't create all that much. None of our midfielders carry a goalscoring threat, and apart from Liam none of our strikers do either. Barrowman might do but he isn't getting played much either
