  1. Yesterday's match well covered by other posters. I would only add that our two centre backs defend well enough but are a liability with the ball at their feet and should only be passed to in emergencies. We won't climb the table until we start putting away our chances.

  2. Pretty even game last night. We created some decent chances but missed them all. They created some decent chances and took one. Thought we missed a trick not trying some long range efforts given the conditions and a reserve keeper in. We missed Josh Jack for that. Good to see Dean getting a yellow, presumably for terrible acting. The ref was very good actually and as always  the visiting fans were warmly welcomed

  3. Great to see McPherson back. He made a difference when he came on. Could have gone either way. We stopped trying to play football and got drawn into a junior style physical cup tie which just doesn't suit us. Really pleased to get the result if only to get it up the Linlithgow  number 16, an obnoxious player. Tough day for young  Garcia who doesn't look like a defender to me.

  4. Some wildly eccentric decisions from the ref who looked like he had wandered  in for the stock car meeting, mostly in favour of Gala it has to be said. Walker's booking, the non booking of Gala no 23 and the non playing of the advantage the worst of many. I liked the Gala NO 9 , the centre backs were ok but the rest, not much quality though they battled all the way. A game we should have won. That was MaCnab's poorest game , and he was still pretty decent. These injuries though.

  5. Yes,Tranent are a decent side. Higginbotham's finish really classy. Damage done really in the first half. Macnab is far too valuable in midfield to play in defence. A lesson learned hopefully. I've never rated Cunningham and was surprised when we resigned him. He did nothing tonight to change my opinion but maybe he will prove me wrong. Too bad the injuries came at the time they did.

  6. Berwick were poor 3 and 15 their only decent players and 3 got crocked near the end. With Macnab in defence our midfield lacked its usual fluency, but we were still the better team. I was just saying that at least they have a decent keeper when he made a hash of a corner and we took advantage. After that we were never troubled apart from a flurry near the end. Tuesday will be tougher I fancy.

  7.  EK are a cut above anyone else we have played. Seemed to have all the answers  first half and I couldn't see a way back for us. Credit to Calum for his substitution and tactical changes at half time, and to the players who really went for it. At 2-2 they were rocking but critically failed to clear our lines and conceded a poor third. We might still have got a draw but referee took over , booking everyone in sight before giving a late penalty. I was a long way from it but it looked a bit dubious. Great entertainment though.

  8. Pretty sure there were some Broomhill fans there tonight. They have  a good keeper and a solid back four. Our only failing tonight was to go for that one extra pass or touch instead of pulling the trigger. Dougies injury unfortunate and when Macnab dropped into defence we lost a bit of control in midfield. Calum was quick to see this and correct it. Thought the subs did ok when they came on. We have a really good one for all spirit.

  9. Think the toilets being locked was a bit of a cock up if you'll pardon the pun. Went for a pee at half time only to find myself locked in!!! I had to shout to the girl at the snack bar to rescue me. Woman came, let me out then promptly locked it again.

  10. Well deserved win tonight. Missed a host of chances, then finished up having to gut it out at the end. A few changes to the team (enforced?) but the effort and commitment just the same. Thought Walker was outstanding but no failures. What a difference from last season. Rodden's red card the only black spot.

  11. For a pre season kick about that was pretty lively last night. I don't think we have ever won a game when Scott Lambie was ref. Enough said. There can't have been many penalty shoot outs where a keeper saves three and the other keeper none and still finishes on the losing side. Saturday was good and this was better, all very encouraging.

  12. Feel a bit  sorry  for our rep from Cowden. Ten teams voted yes to the b teams for another  season but he was the only one to put his head above the parapet  and has promptly  had it blown off. He gave his reasons  for voting the way he did and they were perfectly understandable . Personally I think he should  have voted no and called Maxwell's  bluff but what if he wasn't  bluffing. He didn't  feel it was a chance he could take.

This way the lower league clubs have a chance  to consult with each other and present  a united front . As far as I can  see  every fan who has posted from Division  two downwards  is against the b teams being in the league system  so its  up to them to make that fact known  to their clubs.

  13. We competed well and defended well restricting them to just two chances one of which  they took sadly. But we posed no threat ourselves.  We are  desperately  short of creativity  in midfield.  Thought  the ref was good for a change very calm and unfussy.
