  1. Forgot to say ref was hopeless as well.
  2. Colts are a good side. 5 was rock solid and 15 up front very lively. First half against the strong wind was as good as anything we've done all season. Thought we would win by four or five. Instead their midfield got more in our faces whilst they punted long balls over the top for their strikers to chase and we just couldn't cope. Our centre backs were dreadful. Healy works hard and leads the line well but he is no,finisher making a hash of two easy chances. A disappointing capitulation. ers to chase
  3. Congratulations well done goodness knows you've waited long enough. Really pleased for big Nat too, my favourite player when Cowden were in the championship(sigh). A bit like a world war one tank, slow ponderous but ultimately unstoppable. At least you won't have to worry about the lowland league next season.
  4. Hi Tam, see the Cowden job is up for grabs again. Think you might get it this time.
  5. A good win yesterday. Great to see Robbie back to his best. What a difference he makes. We were in control first half and could have been further ahead. They brought on four subs and second half was a lot more route one which suited them more than us. The one thing that bugged me was when they went down to ten we sat back instead of using our extra man to keep them pinned back. We looked far from comfortable late on and they missed a sitter in the last minute. We made it though. If we can hold onto Zach we have the makings of a side that can challenge.
  6. Think Robbie might be taking his face somewhere.
  7. Bummer. Can we get Warnock in till the end of the season?
  8. Ridiculous to talk of wanting rid of Callum. He had to clear out the dross and start from scratch and under those circumstances he has done fine. We have the basis of a team that can challenge next season. No doubt there are some players he would have liked but couldn't get and some who have left that he would like to have kept, but with the finances the way they are it's a constant juggling act. I think what has disappointed folks was we were playing some really exciting football at the start of the season and haven't been able to sustain it through the winter. But it's all part of the learning curve.
  9. Very disappointing again. Don't agree about no fight. Plenty effort in the second half but we just seemed to keep finding ways not to score. The second goal was a real body blow and so soft. A game that on the balance of play we should have won comfortably.
  10. BTU has risen from the grave.
  11. With all the hype of the ex players appearing, plus our biggest crowd it was almost inevitable that we would turn in our worst performance of the season by a mile, to remind the extra 300 why they stopped coming. A couple of the goals were bordering on the farcical. Over elaborate in midfield, toothless up front and uncertain at the back it was a pretty grim watch. Thought the Berwick number 3 looked a really tidy player and there's no doubt they've improved since we last played. We can and must do better. Quite pleased with Healy so far.
  12. We will miss his ability with a dead ball. A pity
  13. What a bizarre game. We scored very early and for the rest of the first half we carved them open a almost at will, created half a dozen clear cut chances and missed them all. Then they got a man sent off. At half time they brought on three subs and got stuck in. Despite having plenty of the ball we created very little while they had three presentable chances. Luckily their finishing was as bad as ours. Still, three points is three points. The pitch was a bit of a state.
  14. Tremendous effort from the ten men. If we show that attitude and application every week we could be right up there next season. It all got a bit overheated at times, not helped by some eccentric refereeing. The two benches didn't help either. Cowden player elbows EK player and is immediately sent off by the ref so why all the ranting and raving from the visitor's bench? Both management teams going ballistic over throw ins on the halfway line. They can hardly complain if their players lack discipline. The referee wasn't very good, but he doesn't have an easy job.
  15. Recent results have been disappointing but we have to be realistic. EK are the finished article and I really hope they go up, don't want them in this league next year. Stirling uni are very fit and fast with some talented players and deserved to be in front. I was pleased with the way we fought back and with a bit more luck we would have got a draw. I think we took a lot of teams by surprise at the start of the season and once they got wise to our style it became more difficult. There's no doubt some players from has shaded a bit but we just have to keep plugging in till the end of the season . we have the basis of a good team. With the addition of two or three decent signings, but I suppose every team is saying that.
  16. And we get to do it all again next Saturday
  17. Others have summed up the game pretty well.I thought Butterworth was very good in a losing cause and our new striker showed promise from off the bench. Ref seemed to lose the plot in the last half hour.
  18. The club have given some cogent reasons for voting the way they did but the other clubs are in exactly the same position. This is a matter of principle and I think they made the wrong decision. Sadly we are now condemned to the ranks of the wanks.
  19. In terrible conditions, the two teams served up a hugely entertaining game. Both sides pressing high and trying to get on the front foot. Felt a bit sorry for the young Celtic keeper but he will learn from it. Thought it was slipping away from us but our subs made a difference. Then the inevitable late penalty award for Celtic.
  20. Thought Jack Tait had a really good game today.
  21. Craig Barr would be acceptable. Just saying.
  22. Barmy, in my opinion to get rid of Walker. But I've been wrong before.
  23. Not a great day.We missed Butterworth badly. Hepburn, who has been solid all season, looked a bag of nerves throughout, and gifted the opening goal. The big number nine gave us plenty of problems, and in the second half we were all over the place and could have conceded more. All topped off with a loss of discipline at the end. If the ref had given a penalty instead of booking McPherson it might have been different but in the end we were well beaten.
  24. Here we go again. Anyone know if there is seating at Boness?
