  1. Ok I’ll rephrase it. I can’t recall any other club in Scotland dishing out updates on injured players unless it’s in the papers or through the manager in a post or pre match interview. Ayr are exactly the same.
  2. I can’t recall any other club in Scotland dishing out regular updates on injured players unless it’s in the papers or through the manager in a post or pre match interview. Ayr are exactly the same.
  3. Wouldn’t you prefer it if he actually got on with the job he’s paid to do rather than give updates every 5 minutes on how the players are doing?
  4. Imo Crawford hasn’t been at his best since Dundee away in the cup. The closest he’s got since then was the 5-0 demolition at Tannadice. Really disappointing this season but he’ll come good once he gets a run in his natural position.
  5. It’s not disrespectful Complications with injuries arose in the past due to the lack of physios working for us. Now that Stevie Maguire is back full time our injuries have been pretty small until now. This time last year McCall was scrambling around trying to bring in players because we couldn’t even fill a bench. That’s nowhere near the case this year. Adams has always had injury problems. So it’s no surprise that he may relapse and it will take longer for him to come back. Kerr is 36 now so naturally it will take time and we’ll have to be careful not to rush him back. I’m not sure about Forrest but unless I’m wrong McCall said from the start he’d be out long term and I think he only went for a scan either today or yesterday. I’m not in the least bit bothered about getting regular updates about the status of these injuries. I’ll happily trust the experts to do their job and get them back on the pitch. In the meantime though it would be great if McCall could sign a winger or someone capable of playing wide to allow Crawford to play in the middle of the park.
  6. I wouldn't call him dreadful. Look at this masterclass in the art of defending.
  7. Ultimately these guys have been brought in to keep you up so if you do that then they’ll have been a success. If you go down they’ll have failed. I’d be surprised if any of these guys will be in McKinnons plans next season if you stay up. Just a quick fix imo.
  8. Only 16 appearances in the Premiership over 3 years. Is every signing that you make this window going to be considered “phenomenal” or a “top piece of business” ?
  9. Which of those 5 teams will be unlucky enough to sign him? Looking at his career he’s never even been good enough for League 1 let alone the Championship. He’d be a pretty dreadful signing for Partick so here’s hoping they get him.
  10. Yeah that’s kind of my point. Every game Ayr have played Queens this season Dykes has bullied us in the air (apart from a few times on Saturday when Rose got the better of him) and that in turn helped Dobbie absolutely spank up. If Naysmith can’t recognise that he has a presence in the air then that’s poor management. No one is building him up to be a certain class but he’s an extremely effective player for Queens and I’d happily have him at Ayr. Same goes for Todd.
  11. Dykes is a striker. His goal return for a striker is poor. However when you’ve got a player like Dobbie in the team Naysmith is obviously going to find a way to build the team around him and ensure he’s getting chances created for him. Clearly it’s working as Dobbie has continued banging them in and Queens have a good chance for the play offs. I think a better manager though would see that Dykes finishing is poor (there are strikers in the juniors that would’ve buried that chance he had) and find a way to make him better. A striker with a clear aerial presence should be getting crosses played into him constantly.
  12. Is Barry related in any way to Dykes? I feel I’ve been very complimentary of Dykes on the Ayr/QoTS threads this season and that’s unlike me to praise opponents. I certainly haven’t seen any of your fans on those threads slating him but maybe those in the home support are different. In terms of what you’re saying about his position he’s obviously playing as part of a front two and I guarantee you any team in this league that plays a 4-4-2 or any other variation with 2 strikers up top one of those strikers will drop deep when defending. Moffat does it for us and when he’s not playing Shankland does it. It worked an absolute belter in the 5-0 game as Dykes had complete freedom in midfield to win headers to get Dobbie in behind. So much so that McCall brought Ross Docherty back in for his first league start to man mark him and it worked pretty well as he only had one chance. I do think however Dykes presence in midfield at times is required as without him the midfield looks a bit lightweight. At least with Dykes he’ll win almost every header allowing Queens the second ball. Just a thought from an outsider looking in.
  13. Just read on Twitter Jordan Kirkpatrick is signing for you lot again Edit: He is only training but he’ll probably sign
  14. They’ve been advertised on social media. On sale in the club shop now.
  15. Does anyone have any idea the exact date Docherty and Ferguson’s contracts run out? Obviously some point in January but I thought we’d maybe have heard by now what’s happening with them.
  16. Nothing we can do about that. If Ross County want to go and splash the cash in January then that’s up to them. If Cameron wants to give us funds to bolster the squad then good on him. But it’s not possible for him to put in enough money for us to be competing with County on a financial level. We need to use whatever funds we have in January smartly and not just bring in a player for the sake of it.
  17. It’s in situations like these where we should follow what they do in Ice Hockey. Just get the rest of the players away and let them fight it out until there’s only one standing, and then send them off. Would be much more entertaining.
  18. The first goal he gave away the penalty (which wasn’t actually a penalty) The second one he goes out to meet the Ross County player challenging for the ball, if bounces right in front of both of them and the wind carries it into the box where’s there’s a scramble and a goal. To blame him for both is harsh given the weather conditions and that the penalty clearly wasn’t justified.
  19. Chris Millar? Was he a St Johnstone captain?
  20. They might have one or two (Paul Dixon is already signed) but I still expect them to sit in and grind out a draw.
