  1. Just found out my girlfriend's dog is likely going to need to get put down tomorrow. Going to need to be with her tomorrow night. Sorry bois
  2. The atmosphere at Dortmund is artificial. The fans sing because they think they have to, because it's expected. It's a significantly poorer atmosphere that a full Hampden for a vaguely important game
  3. Smurph is on the hunt for players but cannot read the forum. I'll post if he finds someone. If anyone else gets someone, post here and I'll relay it to him so he can call off his search
  4. Been out walking and have pulled/strained a ligament /tendon in my foot. The one that goes from under the sole of the foot to the ankle area. I AM OUT. Have just text Smurph to get replacement hunt started.
  5. There sadly aren't many beasts to count among a crowd of 500
  6. But look at Dundee, the 'Deefiant' season, a few promotions, unheralded success (though not paid for properly). I accept we're rubbish and will probably continue to be so, but I don't want to waste an afternoon when I'm not enjoying it. I'm pretty comfortable my view isn't the norm but each to their own
  7. What's the point in staying? Is there a belief it makes you a better fan? I'm not bothered how I'm perceived. Most Stenny fans around me know I sometimes leave early and I'm not too fussed what they think. I'll continue to buy a season ticket to give the club money despite the fact it isn't value for money for me to do so. I think part of it comes from us just being awful. Most fans see the odd league win in amongst the rubbish. We've not won a league title in our history and our best finish in the last 15 years is 3rd out of 10 teams.
  8. Under John Coughlin we played 100+ games and only ever conceded the first goal but came from behind to win once. That was away a Albion Rovers. I left after 35 minutes, about 5 mins after they scored. I've left away games before half time on a few occasions, sometimes I've been on the supporters bus and so gone for a walk or a pint, sometimes I've just driven home if I have the car. I know we play at a fairly low level but the games are often entertaining in their own way. When I'm simply not getting any enjoyment (have stayed til the end in 5,6,7- nil defeats) I just leave.
  9. I probably fall into the 'least enthusiastic' category. I go because I feel compelled to go because I have to. I go because there's the odd moment of joy amongst the absolute pish. I often leave if it's a poor game or if we're losing heavily. I left during the first half against Stranraer.
  10. I was recently reading the thread about how many grounds you have visited. I'm annoyed by the fact that adults who have been following their team for years have only been to a handful of grounds. Even for a team who has been in the same division for years must have played at 20+ grounds. Why would you never go away games? It just seems mental
  11. I'm in for next week providing it's at Townhead
  12. I'm out. Assumed it was loused this week and made plans
  13. Dundee is a decent small city with many decent pubs, clubs and music venues. I just feel some people with ties to Dundee now think it's somehow amazing. It is compared to what it was 20 years ago but in comparison to Edinburgh /Glasgow is still poor in comparison. Thankfully I'm in the #westend of Glasgow and not the student infested bit
  14. I've been there a few times en route to Forfar. The odd night out there. It looks like a decent city center and surrounds that have had recent redevelopment. Nothing more nothing less. I have a Dundonian friend who constantly brags about how brilliant it is as if it's somehow on a par with edin /Glasgow when it clearly isn't
  15. People who like football but don't support a team People who think Dundee is now great. It's the equivalent of a 5/10 girl losing a bit of weight and learning how to apply make up and is now a7/10 at best
  16. Suchin sounds like an interesting character. What does he do for a living?
  17. I do drink in the pub featured in the 'Begbie' scene though
