The comment about the minuscule fan base must also apply to half of the other clubs in the championship as well then. There are only 200 between six of the clubs in the league including us according to Cinch's average gates. Add on that we have had a very poor season and we are no worse supported than most clubs. Yes, this includes away support but that same support visits everyone else.

I just watched the highlights as well as being at the game. I'm surprised some are getting heated about it. It was a deserved 0-0 and I reckon that probably suited both teams. It was a potential banana skin for Morton and we wanted to get at least a point to keep our improvement going. Job done for both sides.

Every experienced manager hired by any club will have those who criticise him from his time at their club. You only need to read P&B and see that most fans are even critical about their current manager. I understand that Davidson was seen as a failure at St. Johnstone but from where I am sitting a manager of a provincial club with two cups to his name is better than a manager who went 12 games in the championship without a win. We are Queens Park, just won for the first time in 16 games, only a few years ago we were league 2, and our stadium has a capacity of 900. Davidson would be seen as a downgrade for Saints but he is a big upgrade for us in our current situation. I agree the bar is low but let us enjoy a wee bit of good news. It might only last until we get horsed against Raith on Saturday but for the next 4 days I see him as a success.

For those saying Nuijten is improving things and should be given a chance. Let's say that he had not been with the club when the previous manager left. Do you seriously think he would have been considered for the manager job given his current experience and age? Yes he is doing his best and deserves credit for taking chances that the previous coach seemed scared to try. That does not mean he is the long term person for an extremely difficult job. We have seen young players thrown to the wolves week after week. The same will happen to Nuijten if he remains as first team coach. The reality is he is in place because he was the only short term option we had. We need an experienced coach/manager and once that person is in found then Nuijten should be rewarded by being given his old role back and more time to continue his learning in the background. Of course bringing in an old head to run the team does not automatically mean success. I bet whoever it is will do better than no wins in 15 games though.

There is more chance of Leeaan Dumpster holding a Christmas party and singing 'All you need is love' for the Queens fans than us getting a result here. If a miracle does happen, I hope she can sing better than she talks.

That's a great post and I think most Queens fans would agree with your sentiment. There have been signs that things might come together but the result at Thistle almost felt like a capitulation. The club are in a difficult position here. Veldman seems like a nice guy and I would love to see him turn it around. But, if we take another hammering on Saturday or get nothing from the next 2 or 3 games then unfortunately I think the club would be forced to act. The margins are indeed fine but Veldman has used up his margin by not winning a real game since August. The team need to prove they are progressing and a win or two is now vital. Here's hoping.

I play tennis and when I practise on the court by myself I'm always amazed that I don't get a wild card for Wimbledon. Unfortunately once I meet a real opponent in a game I get humped.

I doubt there is a team in any Scottish league who would accept this run of results. The last time we won a game of any importance was way back in August. I think we all keep hoping that Veldman and this pool of players will turn things around but it just feels like one step forward is always followed by two steps back. Today was another opportunity to show we were making progress and once again it turned out to be a massive disappointment. It now feels inevitable that Veldman will go and the plan will need to be adjusted. It's just a case of when.

Veldman's win ratio is 5 in 20, so 25%. That is with the better resources and in a league that should be far easier than Ross County. I'm not saying he should go either, but there comes a point. Well maybe there doesn't as we keep losing but you know what I mean. Veldman has probably the next few games to save himself. The strange thing is despite ten league matches without a win it does feel as though he is just a few results away from either success or the sack.

I feel sorry for Veldman, he looks a broken man in his after match comments. I thought we played well yesterday up until the subs and late goals disaster. Had we won 2-1 against a team 2nd in the league the mood all round would have been very positive. Ten league games without a win speaks for itself. Veldman is no fool, he knows questions are being asked about his tactical ability. He might even quit before he gets axed. I reckon like others have already mentioned, he has 2 or 3 more games to start winning or its over. No club is going to accept a failure to win in over a dozen or more league games. He has to prove he can turn things around in the next few games or he is toast.

No similarities at all. Gretna had their own ground, a decent coach, actually did make it to the premier league and you could get a pie for £1.50 rather than £3.60 at Hampden.

Veldman is The Darkness these days.

The jury is still out on the whole Veldman/ youth/ playing out from the back thing. It may well still come good but I have to say that yesterday's performance was the poorest I've seen since since we turned pro. Yes, we have had previous bad games but yesterday I left and could not think of one single positive thing from the game. The team looked frightened and no one was taking responsibility. The Veldman interview after was worrying too, he comes across as rather arrogant. It does feel like we are a few players short and need more experience but it looks like that is not going to happen. Hopefully, we can pick things back up on Friday. Lose that and then Dundee United away and Veldman might be under pressure. Still early days but yesterday was bad.

Ok, I will assume all the regular posters are still hitchhiking back from Wales. I watched the game on TV and while I accept that Bala are a few levels below the Scottish Championship, I still thought it was a solid performance. Some slick passing but the final ball was not quite there. Pretty much the same as most of our games. Despite that, I feel the team is slowly coming together and may yet prove to be capable of mounting a decent promotion challenge again.

I was trying to make the point ( Badly ) that we were going to be in trouble if we had not moved on from being amateur and not had the rich guys' money. Of course, I care about the long-term sustainability of the club. I just feel we could do with less complaining and more enjoying how far we have come. I have been involved in business all my life and it is easy to shoot arrows from the outside when you are not directly involved on the inside. Yes, I agree that the club has been poor with communications but I fear that the reality is they don't see the current 500-odd supporters as important as we would like to think we are. They have a bigger vision of attracting families and young fans from the large catchment area in the south of Glasgow. We might not like it but maybe our buy-in does not matter to them. So, my plan is to enjoy the ride as much as I can.

I have never read so much moaning from our own supporters and those of other teams. Ok, there are problems. But....We are in the championship, we are back playing at Hampden, we have an excellent management and coaching team as well as first-class training facilities. Oh, and we are quoted as 2nd favourites to win the league. I remember walking back home in 1974 after a 0-0 draw with East Fife on a wet Tuesday night. At the time I didn't have enough pocket money to get the train. Who cares if what we are doing is sustainable in 10, 20 years' time. Plenty of teams have disappeared from the league in recent years. I am enjoying the ride, it's way better than shuffling about league two for years on end. I even have enough money for the train home these days. I could be dead tomorrow, who cares if it goes txxts up. Enjoy the ride.

I suppose all this success, new team, management, half a ground, comes at a cost. £50 -£60 does not seem that excessive in this day and age. The club seem to think the hospitality package will sell without a problem. Could I suggest you just skip it and nip into the Florida Park pre-match for a Tennents at £3.80 instead.

Could it be that we are permanently moving back to big Hampden and lesser will be used for training, reserve game, etc. In other words the 900 seater stand will be the capacity and that is it finished. Either way, I am delighted.

Yes, you guys are all spot on. But, right now, I have been watching Queens Park for 50 years and week in week out we would get horsed by Albion Rovers and Berwick Rangers. How about right now you just let this old guy enjoy the fact that we are looking down at the rest of you and enjoying the moment. Tomorrow I will probably have to wait 120 minutes for an ambulance before I finally snuff it. Hopefully it happens while we are top of the championship and just before the Gretna thing kicks in. Let's be honest, it does not matter which team we support. Any one of us would love to be doing what Queens Park are enjoying right now. Just give us our moment, it won' t last, we know that. Did you really expect anything other than small minded bitter responses to this from supporters of other clubs? Of course there is a risk in what Queens Park are doing but then there is an even bigger risk of sinking out of the senior leagues by doing nothing. Just look at the mess Clyde are in. The people behind this are business people. The academy thing will help attract grants, sponsorship etc. Its just part of the bigger picture. The size of our current support is not were we will eventually end up. 3200 at Hampden recently even if it was a lot of freebies shows there is potential. I believe there will soon be news on the ground situation taking into account if we stay in the championship or get promoted. Anyway, top of the championship following two successive promotions, shows we are doing something right.
