  1. All of that is absolutely irrelevant. What are you talking about. The only relevant factor is, is he good enough for the squad and team. Thats it. Compared against the players hes competing against for his position, right now. Not a different position 3 years ago.
  2. Its not comparable with Gilmour. They play different positions so have different competition for place. The decision will be based on wether ben doak can contribute to the squad and team. Which I think he can. Wether Billy Gilmour got called up or not 3 years ago is irrelevant.
  3. 2 of the most surprising things I've read in a while! A 5/6 year hiatus selling hats and he's back in the game. Their in the top league in serbia, not that I have any idea of what the standard is like wonder if he will get on the pitch? Even score his first professional goal?
  4. You keep posting as if you know me and I know you, I dont know you. Your quite a new poster so im assuming your a previously banned one. Your angry style could be one of any number
  5. Thats the thing that always gets me, can we not talk about football and disagree without labeling each other mental and insane. It must be a bizarre and unproductive way to live your life. As it happens I disagree with you, I think the time is already here for him to be making an impact for us. Like most folk tho ill not be jumping up and down if he is or isn't called up. But the way he's going I think its imminent either way.
  6. I hope he gets called up now just for the seeth
  7. Its weird tho you've watched every minute but disagree with yourself as to how many minutes it is
  8. Oh my god, you've actually seen him play? Wow Im out, cant argue this anymore, this guys seen him play. I mean he's playing for Liverpool so that must have been incredibly difficult as their games are literally never broadcasted. So hats off for the incredible scouting.
  9. Excellent news, no need to leave Armstring behind
  10. your absolutely on tilt, brilliant
  11. Absolutely insane behaviour that folk might have a different opinion on a football squad Jesus christ, calm down eh
  12. I think it is tbh, good players can easily play with good players. Say things dont go well in Cyprus and were bogged down struggling for a result, and he's not there to call on. It would be viewed as an error. We don't have anyone else who can run at players like him. Clarkes already shown he can switch formation, so there would be an easy place for him on the right in a 4231. If he doesn't get the call up its not the end of the world tho, I think we will win the game anyway.
  13. Im not sure why he would have to wait to play until were comfortable against Cyprus. Unless you think Scotland are stronger than Liverpool, and Cyprus are better than Chelsea.
  14. Well on a footballing side its impossible to say, only he could answer that question really. On a match fitness side its not up for debate.
  15. Well thats impossible to say, what we do know is less match sharpness will affect performance. So he may have been able to play better had he been playing regularly. He would also have lasted the full 90 mins rather than have to be subbed off. So yeah it absolutely affected that performance.
  16. Think you might be accepting some of the rubbish that was posted on here. He may have played 30 games, but nothing remotely close to that in terms of actual minutes. So much so he's 4th choice now. This is what happens when players fall out of favour. Great for Scotland
  17. Hes certainly made arsenal a better team, in terms of success hes won nothing. I'd say its quite easy to argue hes making a mistake by sidelining Tierney. Hes easily good enough to be arsenals first choice. He was before and was excellent. It wasn't long ago you were saying when you said its great for Scotland when he was sitting on the bench
  18. Suppose it depends how much game time he gets? My concern would be with the pace he has and how direct he is if he drops down a division and ends up on the receiving end of some nasty tackles
  19. Strachan also gave plenty of young players their debut. Bringing in a young John Mcginn while he was playing in the championship springs to mind. But fair enough thats your opinion, I just don't see either example yours or mine really proving anything one way or the other. If there's a guy getting a game for Liverpool I'd say he's going to be considered regardless of his age, or who the manager is.
  20. If he can carry that into the competitive games then yeah I think so. Think its also a bit of a wild take reading earlier (not you) that clarke would give him a chance where previous managers wouldn't. Have we had anyone comparable in the last 30 years? A 17 year old on the cusp of a big team roasting the likes of bayern? Not that I can think of.
  21. down voting a post stops our players getting injured
  22. Thing can change fast in football, Liverpool will have 3 competitive games by then. If hes getting on the pitch for Liverpool and doing well id say its possible he could be in the squad.
  23. Think its a bit early to say "the much noted weaknesses in his game" Hes 17 and we've hardly seen him. If he didn't look like he was able to cross pass or shoot effectively. I doubt he would be anywhere near the Liverpool team like he is.
  24. After avoiding my phone all day finally get to watch this. Crawford is simply one of the best I've ever seen. An absolute masterclass from him. As mentioned previously, to think Ricky Burns managed to go 12 rounds with this guy shows how good he was in his prime also.
  25. I've a cracking idea for you, if you don't like reading opinions about Ryan gauld. Try not clicking on the thread thats titled "Ryan Gauld". Rather than expect people not to talk about him just incase you look.
