  1. This, all day long. Where we were at the end of last season, I would've bitten you're hand off for the last few games of this season to be meaningless. It would've been a minor miracle had we ended up top four. The fact that we threatened that more than relegation was a wee bonus.
  2. I think if we'd known that Berra was leaving we'd have made more of an effort to retain Bene. That said, I think the pars will realise next season what we had concluded last season. With another 2 years in the legs I would be hugely surprised if Bene has what it takes against the better teams in this league.
  3. The championship is good anyway but the move to a Friday night live game (in english) has been brilliant. I love the odd Friday night game and having the option of a Championship game on the telly over a Premier League game from either Scotland or England is a no brainer for me. The league itself has some decent quality but the competitiveness is the main selling point. If we could only find a way of ridding ourselves of the twa cheeks then the Premier League could be the same. What a product Scottish football would be if they could make that happen. In the meantime, I'd be more than happy with Rovers being competitive for the promotion playoffs but ultimately staying in the Championship for the forseeable. Especially with they manky hoors fae Dunfermline re joining us next year
  4. You know, it's been 18 months and I still struggle to believe he fucked that legend status up so badly... In a lot of ways he seemed like a good appointment for Falkirk last summer. However, some of the noises coming out of Starks just now about the financial governance, signings and contracts dished out by him during the last 12 to 18 months of his tenure are quite startling. The Falkirk board better have him on a tight leash.
  5. Easy to be complimentary when the pressure is off. One thing for sure is that he won't get the same patience from you guys that he got from us (Even at the end of last season there was still a sizeable amount of Rovers fans who would not criticise him in any way shape or form) and failure to get promoted with the budget he's spent will see a huge downturn in the relationship between him and the Falkirk fans. He was pulled up after a Raith TV interview a couple of seasons ago when he got all sarcastic with the volunteer reporter as if they worked for Sky. Since then he has always concluded interviews by giving the support praise which is easy when you're winning/ doing well. Last night, the next couple of league games and the inevitable pumping in the play-offs are going to see huge amounts of abuse coming McGlynn's way. Believe me, when the arms start flapping about, he's no saying what he really really wants to.
  6. Just watched his post match interview, he is feeling the pressure big time. If I were a Falkirk fan I'd be worried. What we know well about McGlynn is that he has no plan B so if his Plan A has been worked out then you're fucked. Also, his body language after the last question about the fans . Arms folded, then a few flaps, I think he even sticks both fingers in his ears at one point. I'm no body language expert but I think he fucking hates Falkirk fans and has obviously copped some abuse after that game. It was paining him to have to praise you guys.
  7. This couldve been a Rovers match thread from 12 months ago...
  8. Actually agree with this. There are definitely more than a few in the SNP who aren't as fussed for indy as the folk who elected them might be.
  9. Absolutely. My wee boy's first game was Denmark. Since then been to Ireland, Cyprus and last night. He's 4-0 and strolled out of Hampden last night begging me to take him to Germany! It's going to be a tough come down for these lads at some point in the future!
  10. I agree with Rodri. Spain had some fucking weapons in their team tonight. Get it right up every one of them
  11. Both Labour and the Tories are standing on a manifesto of no second indyref. Generation passed or not, running scared or not, whoever is elected the next UK government will have a UK mandate not to have an indyref which is a UK reserved matter.
  12. High risk for High reward sounds like a disaster waiting to happen
  13. Starting to think we'll see Anas Sarwar as FM before we see Indy. What a fucking laugh that will be.....
  14. I never expected there to ever be a risk that the leader of Scotland would oppose gay marriage. For us to currently be looking at electing an SNP FM being opposed to it is absolutely staggering! Independence is clearly the glue holding the SNP together. What we are seeing is the result of indy being off the table for now. I always thought they'd secure it before imploding but looks like they may go pop first. If it does happen then Scottish Politics could see a bit of a correction through this process, however I'm not convinced that we will see any defection from SNP voters to unionist parties.
  15. 1. No it ain't 2. Agree they won't which is why there will be no resurgence.
  16. Same. If they offered real devo max or a 2nd indy ref I'd be all over them.
  17. I'm comfortably into my 40s and the number of competent politicians I've witnessed in my lifetime, let alone competent ministers, is relatively few. The benefits/ opportunity of independence would be enabling Scottish voters to give them their jotters if they are not acting in the best interests of Scotland. Something that we cant and don't currently do just now. Westminster we have no power over so cant, and Holyrood we don't as it is elected pretty much based on the nations view on independence. SNP have not been judged on how they govern otherwise they probably would've been turfed out by now. The fact that it looks as though we will be continuing this charade for the short to medium term is, frankly, depressing!
  18. Which has since hopefully had a bit of a rethink given the impact of Brexit on the fishing and agricultural industries.
  19. I'm not sure the specific mechanisms but if the SNP don't promote a replacement FM and vote down all opposition candidates then we would require an election. Not sure of timescales but pretty sure there is time to allow this to happen prior to the October 2023 commitment for indyref2.
  20. Pretty surprised by this but whether I'm disappointed or not really depends on what plays out in the short term. If SNP simply appoint another leader and we carry on regardless then this news is of enormous disappointment and, whoever is the replacement, will be a significant downgrade and significantly dents the chances of securing independence or the performance of the SNP at the next elections. If this results in the dissolution of Holyrood and a Scottish Election as a defacto indyref this year then this would be a superb move and using Sturgeon as a martyr for this cause would be a fucking masterstroke. She has significant goodwill amongst the soft no/ pro european scots, many of whom will probably be the most upset by this development.
  21. At the game I thought we were fortunate at each of the three goals. However, after watching the highlights the ref and linesman have got all three calls spot on. It was just shitebag defending/ goalkeeping.
  22. Despite the fact we've no strikers and we've been given a stern warning to behave ourselves, I'm really looking forward to this.
  23. Agreed, Never mind this choice pish. Pump Dundee, Pump Motherwell, draw Falkirk away and pump them.
