  1. You make a few good points there. I appreciate the feeling of Rangers fans is that they have been punished enough and what else could be done to them. The fact that they will not be involved in a title race for the short to medium term is a huge punishment to the real, honest, footballing Rangers fans. However, the only way that the past can be left alone is for Newco Rangers to formally accept they are a new entity, start from scratch and apply for entry to Division 3. A clean fresh start to be assessed against other clubs for the worth they could bring to the league. There is nothing wrong with there being an association with the previous entity in terms of playing at Ibrox, wearing blue, loving the Queen however the trophy count starts at 0 and the club is clearly distinguished from it's previous carnation. If Rangers fans are unwilling to accept this then I'm sorry but the punishments have only just begun! The point you make about other clubs business models is spot on. If these are based around support required from other clubs then they deserve to fail too. For football to remain credible there has to be competition and clubs must be self suffiicient. If a club like Kilmarnock can only survive with Rangers in the league then if Rangers fail so must Killie. Rangers failing so spectacularly shows that the current SPL model doesn't work. Time to plan for a different future as opposed to propping up the failed model of the past.
  2. I totally agree with you here and suggest that all the diddy clubs focus on helping their own clubs first. There is a financial storm about to be ridden in Scottish football and our clubs are going to need us to go the extra mile more than ever. I don't want to see one diddy team be sucked under by the grotesque failing of Rangers but I fear that this may be inevitable. I urge all to provide extra support wherever they can. Ideas include: Sponsoring a player taking out hospitality a couple of times a season buying extra half time draw tickets enrolling/ buying extra tickets for club lottery renewing your scarf/ strip I have already bought extra tickets for the lottery and I will be looking to do all of the above in the forthcoming season. I will also be donating to the Wick fund and paying into the pre-season friendlies despite having a season book. It may not add up to much but if each of our 1500 fans spend £100 more this season then that is an extra £150,000 turnover for the club. The club certainly deserves our support. Scottish football is suddenly becoming interesting to me again.....
  3. I can't believe the SPL are contemplating not holding a vote today, fucking cockwombling idiots! If that happens then the SFL should just get on with next season with the clubs currently in place. There is no time for fuckin aboot any longer. This will end the uncertainty of who is going to be playing where and put the ball firmly in the SPL court. The shortfall in the settlement figure recieved by each SFL club could be plugged if there was a nationwide appeal to SFL fans (and disillussioned SPL ones). I'm fairly sure, with a concerted effort, we could raise £1.9m between us for a season until the clubs have a chance to re-budget accordingly. If we all believe in the integrity of the game as passionately as being discussed on here then we should put our money where our mouths are!
  4. After listening to Sportsound last night my confidence in the right thing happening here is seriously starting to drop. Turnbull sounded resolute in his opinion but I sense he is dismayed that the unnacceptable pressure the SPL/SFA are putting on the SFL chairmen will see others fall into line. It would be a travesty if that happens. In fact it would be a travesty if they were even in the SFL3.
  5. It has been some time since I have felt this much pride in the Rovers. At the start of all this I had stated that if Rangers were treated in anyway different to how any other club (except Celtic) would've been treated then I wouldn't be back. I take this back.... as it seems we will either be: 1. Playing in an SFL set-up whereby Sevco have applied for entry at the 3rd division and their application been approved/ rejected against the merits of other applicants or 2. Rovers turfed into some footballing backwater with integrity intact. Either way I will be holding a season ticket, new strip, new scarf, new mug, fiver worth of 50-50's each game, programme each game, pie and bov...... you get the picture! Turnbull Hutton is an absolute legend!
  6. I don't think I'll waste my time e-mailing my chairman I think we are getting a bit hysterical on here. The SPL have already shown their hand in that 7 clubs have confirmed they will vote No, this is unlikely to change. The DR article saying there is a closed door meeting between 3 clubs about a U turn is probably factually correct but big fucking deal, u need at least 8 votes to see this through. Probably Green Lawwell and Johnstone drinking coffee and having a bitch about things! The SFL meeting today to discuss (or laugh at) the proposal that was leaked last week. All the rhetoric from the SFL has been a resounding "No thanks" and I fully expect that this will be the outcome of the meeting. Bottom line is that the inclusion of Sevco 5088 in Scottish football is not as important as the inclusion of the supporters of the Diddies. Once we get this week out of the way, I will be looking forward to the bright new dawn of football in this country. Keep the faith, the Chairmen have a bit more integrity and baws than many of you think.
  7. Now that there has been a day or so to digest the latest movement on this, i cannot see the SPL proposal as anything other than a hastily cobbled together document which no self respecting SFL chairman could possibly accept. The only place it has recieved any sort of positive comment is at Central Park and it's fairly obvious why. This is the SPL saying what they would be willing to offer the SFL if they would be willing to change the rules. I think the SPL know, and expect, it to be rebuffed. Going through the process though allows them to say they did what they could. Bottom line is that Fan Power will win at the end of the day. SFL clubs know that they need to look after the home fans or they will go the way of Rangers plc, who in the last 15 years have made hee haw difference to the finances of RRFC and several other SFL clubs. The main reason our club have been so vociferous is the fact that Rangers made it personal with Fat Sally and Sandy Jardine's attacks on our club. The impact that had on the individuals at our board cannot be understated however, as TH has shown, they are not the type to roll over to the bullying.
  8. I agree. My assumption wasn't that the Rovers simply voted no... it was that they voted no and were dumped in the new backwater SFL with no access to SPL1 or 2. Essentially Junior football. From what i read on here 95%+ of the diddies agree!
  9. Self Preservation League fully living up to its name IMO. I'm getting a great deal of comfort from the fact that whenever Turnbull Hutton opens his mouth I hear the exact same as the thoughts in my head regarding this situation. There are only 2 scenarios that will see me back at Scottish Football next season. 1. Sevco5088 have applied for Div 3 and have been approved/ rejected based on a fair appraisal of their bid against any rival bids. 2. This abomination has been forced through but RRFC are no part of it. As TH said, I would rather we were in Junior football than be part of a blatantly corrupt league where only the two pillars of bigotry really matter.
  10. Nick Griffin in an attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator shocker. That man is an absoute scumbag!
  11. Am i being pernickity here..... I wouldn't support it over an application from a club which meets all the criteria set out in the SFL guidelines. The only thing that should be guaranteed to Sevco is that they will be given the application form. Otherwise, the statements coming from Starks Park are making me a very proud man! Good Stuff RRFC
  12. So didn't come over how I spoke it in my head. Don't show the Pars fans.... they'll have a field day with that one..... I don't care.... Scottish football has me floating on a cloud just now!
  13. So proud of my wee team, I expected nothing less after fat sally's "who are these people" rant. If they are in competition with anyone for the vacant Div 3 position then they shouldn't get in there either. Bye Bye Rangers, don't let the door hit you on the way out!!
  14. Great news. My first son is due in October, I'm hoping he grows up to know Rangers like I know Third Lanark!
  15. I don't. I've lost count of the patronising comments on my wee team while they've cheated their way to glory and revelled in unrivalled, ill gotten, success. The day of reckoning draws near..... Ta ta one cheek!
  16. Not to mention the fact that this money should belong to ticketus..... their biggest creditor!
  17. This. How can you but the club lock stock and barrel for £8.5million however it costs £1.5million more than that just to sponsor the stadium Quite excited about this week! a couple of pumpings for England and the death of Ra Gers...... luvly jubbly!!
  18. Just a few queries that I haven't read opinions of on here: 1. When is Fat Sally's disrepute charge for his "who are these people?" rant? 2. Has the £160,00 fine been appealed? If not, does this still stand and have they paid it? 3. Dave King says that Rangers fans should reject the CVA! eh WTF say do they have on it? (Brilliant popcorn moment btw, I was pmsl in the car home from work listening to the report on Dave Kings statement. This is the beginning of the grossly disjointed future in front of the Rangers fans with all these chancers/ criminals vying for control of the Proddy cause!)
  19. I thought there were rules introduced or loopholes closed to prevent this scenario following the assumption of Clydebank by Airdrieonians? I may be wrong though, perhaps someone could confirm.
  20. I'm a bit surprised there are some on here who were underwhelmed by last nights show. Sure it would've been great to see a schedule of specific payments to hundreds of players including the NIAR legends, as well as proof of SDM tapping the Bunnet's phone but in reality that was never going to happen. What we did get though (Serious stuff): Evidence of a £30k EBT bung to Souness for the Tugay transfer. How an EMPLOYEE benefit trust can be used to pay a manager of another club and someone who hasn't been an employee for 10 years is astounding and likely illegal. Evidence that the EBT's were not discretionary and therefore formed second contracts. I never expected to see something that we would associate with being a formal contract but "will the shortfall be made up by the employee trust?" "Yes." is enough for the BTC to go against Rangers. Evidence that SDM has never invested a penny of his own money in Rangers and has in fact taken £6.3million out of the club TAX FREE! Any sane, sensible Rangers fan should be absolutely raging at this as it takes "duping" to a whole new level! Duff and Phelps assisted in brokering the ticketus deal. Whilst they will deny this, the circumstantial evidence along with what has been the strangest Administration in history raise the likelihood that they are complicit in Whyte's Asset Stripping of Rangers. Also we got less serious stuff which provided comical entertainment: SDM had a "crack" with Joanna Lumley The Prince of Monaco The tax advisor is a porn star who makes busses Sammy Poor Sammy I thought he actually came across better than I anticipated after the first 5 seconds! All in all, the finest hour on BBC Scotland for a considerable time....... For me, if there is to be a Rangers in the future then it must be in the form of a Newco and it must have to apply for a new SFA licence and start wherever any other new footballing entity would have to start in the Scottish game. The existing club, even if it miraculously managed to sort it's money problems out (and give me my £20 back!), is absolutely rotten to the core and should have it's SFA licence torn up and be thrown out the league. If this had been Raith Rovers there would be no doubt that this would have happened to us! If the SPL/SFA decide otherwise, I expect a horrible and short future for the game in this country!
  21. They're still not illegal if they are used properly. They cannot and never have been legal to contractually supplement wages and avoid income tax though. I don't think you want to get into a debate about wasting Taxpayers money...... I still want my £20 back, in full! I also think that, in time, you will get your wish regarding investigations into the criminal dealings of Sir David Murray and Craig Whyte but for now we are going to see the list of ineligible players you lot have been fielding for the last decade. Not a high priority for Rangers fans to but for the rest of us it may help us begin to correct the tainted decade of Scottish Football Statistics. I look forward to history being rewritten and all being right with the world again. I suspect there will be a few 3-0 defeats in there for you lot Once we know the extent of the cheating and when Rangers inevitably fold, we can begin on the criminal pursuit of the cowboys! Just have a bit of patience....
  22. Pretty sure the EBT investigation is 2001 onwards so the NIAR legends are unlikely to feature, pity. That said, this programme should be pretty explosive and re-invigorate the Rangers must die feeling amongst the rest of Scottish Football fans. I'll be having succulent Lamb with Minty Moonbeam sauce followed by ice cream, jelly and a sack of butterkist! This should be good!!
