  1. I'm an advocate of having categorised games where you charge more where bigger crowds are anticipated. Given that two of our biggest home gates in the last decade were in the game mentioned above and the Dundee Utd game would suggest that the decision to increase the price for these games was a good move by the board. I'm not necessarily a fan of the pricing categories being £22 and £24 however having a season ticket doesn't expose me to this. Charging £20 for the fourth game of six this season between the teams, a game which is on a Friday night, on the telly for free Not on Season book In the Christmas shopping period I don't think is a good move and I would be stunned if the resultant crowd doesn't reflect that.
  2. Same. Change of plans meant I was able to go but I'm not shelling out that money for the challenge cup when it's on the telly. Madness.
  3. Brown first name on the teamsheet for me... well him and Stanton. With 2 fit centre halves, he moves into midfield alongside Byrne and Stanton moves up to the number 10 role. Beyond that Murray can pick any starters and finishers he wants across the front 3.
  4. I really enjoyed the game on Saturday. 2 good open teams having a go at each other and the result really could have gone either way. A great advert for the league as they say... Noticed a huge difference in our energy in the middle of the park when Masson came on which allowed Brown and Stanton to each move forward. Can understand why this didn't happen from the start as Masson still learning and Airdries attacking play could've exposed his inexperience. Thought we won the first half against the run of play and Airdrie won the second against the run of play... football eh? Another point in the bag though and no real change in standings so not a bad weekend. Hopefully more bodies available next week.
  5. Whilst new signings would be welcome, I have to say we have cover across all the key positions. Trouble is we are currently using it to the extreme. The fact we can put out a team as strong as we did last night and on Saturday with the number (and quality) of players not available is testament to our squad depth this season.
  6. There was a tweet by the club showing Todd cupping his ears with the caption "listening for who the Pars got in round 2 of the cup" or something like that. Not sure that would translate to the whole club rattled by him. Haven't seen any comment about him being a cripple either, that sort of shit needs called out if true.
  7. Come on City boys, you're starting to sound like Falkirk fans with all this "Rovers are big favourites" pish. Both sides likely to be missing key players through injury and there has been a bawhair between the teams in both games so far. Expecting a tight affair as usual in the Championship.
  8. With a red weather warning and advice not to travel into Red and Amber areas there is no way this game can be on, regardless of what the weather and pitch conditions are like at 3pm Saturday. Matter of time before it is binned imo. Be as well just calling it today.
  9. Posting profits is not something we've done much of recently. Being happy at the billy big baws big city team subsidising the poor town wee team isn't really tory behaviour, but whatever... cool story as you say
  10. I don't think you want to go down the rabbit hole of discussing management of clubs finances. Wee team pays its debts. Rovers fans had the chance to vote with their feet regarding the increased price at the recent Dundee United game and, despite quite horrendous weather, we had our biggest home gate in over a decade. I'm not sure I heard any gripes about ticket costs. I get why it boils your piss that Pars fans attending will be boosting the Rovers coffers, but the club exploiting games where there will be significant extra demand to increase the clubs revenue is not something that particularly bothers me.
  11. Quite a lot about the club that I back just now, makes a quite refreshing change.
  12. To be honest, I've no issue with clubs categorising games and increasing prices when it is expected there will be more demand. The fact that we had our biggest attendance in 10 years against Dundee United a couple of weeks ago confirms that it hasn't dampened demand and if it creates more revenue for the club then struggling to see the down side. Pretty much every other form of entertainment tiers prices according to demand so not sure why football should be any different.
  13. This is going to be box office however it goes eh? Love the championship this season....
  14. Sorry but appealing that decision is mental. How anyone from Dundee United could sit down after the event, calm down, watch the video evidence and still feel aggrieved enough to appeal the decision is beyond comprehension. A red card all day long. Well done to the assistant ref who got the call absolutely spot on in the heat of the moment.
  15. Absolutely. The boy needs game time at Senior level to develop so loaning him out is a good way to do that, still got plenty time to develop into a first teamer. Just to note that I am hugely satisfied that pretty much all our young players are now contracted to us and are either in or around the first team or out on loan to develop. We don't have 4 or 5 young loanees from other teams being developed by us for others to benefit.
  16. Agree with this. This move makes a lot of sense all round but it does mean we will lose a very good, albeit very injury prone, player. Very much a real world difficult decision. Even if the only reason is to balance up some finances then it seems like a sensible move.
  17. Pretty torn by this. Ethan Ross can be a very very good player. However, in his time with us he has done very little and if you were to list the forward players in our squad in preferential order, he would come fairly far down the pecking order. A luxury we perhaps cannot afford or can use far better elsewhere in the squad. Falkirk fans must be happy with this though. If he can stay fit, he will absolutely be a huge asset towards winning League 1
  18. They're from the match highlights, there's every chance they were part of the appeal. At the match I thought it was a soft red, however the rules of the game have been followed to the letter. Well done to the ref.
  19. Looking at the still shot below, there is no defender covering at the moment of the pull of the shirt. Bear in mind that by the pull has probably already cost Hamilton at least a yard. Hamilton has a clear advantage to get the next touch of the ball which would in all likelihood have given him a clear opportunity to score as he would only have the keeper to beat. Red card all day long and somewhat frivolous to appeal such an obvious decision.
  20. I'm a huge fan of Hamilton. He was absolutely terrorising Queens in the first half on Saturday. He had 2 great chances. One where the goalie spreads himself well and gets lucky and one where he just misjudges the bounce of the ball. If you add in the red card then he could have had a first half hat trick. There is no doubt that they will be working on his movement with the balls that Mullin and Millen can supply and at some point it is going to bear fruit. For me, he leads the line all day long. The 3 in behind can do all the chasing down as, whichever 3 start, there are 3 able replacements to come on when they are goosed.
