  1. It has certainly helped, however I would suggest the boards investment in the team and recruitment strategy (which is funded by the pricing strategy) is also responsible for the improved on field performance. The crowds were up before our title challenge really materialised this season but certainly the crowds of recent weeks, and hopefully through to the end of the season, have been swelled by the title challenge. However, it's worth noting that we went top of the league at home to Kilmarnock just 2 seasons ago with a 1-0 win just before Christmas. Had that been this season it would've, comfortably, been our lowest home league crowd of the season. The increased crowds are more than just a reaction to a team at the top of the league.
  2. When you think about what a clubs social media should be doing, ie attracting interest and creating discussion points, then the Rovers social media is absolutely nailing it. I am delighted that it appears to have percolated into the minds of the Dunfermline players so much that they are discussing it in the media. Will it backfire on Saturday? Possibly, however that doesn't mean we stop doing it. I would encourage others to do so too. It's a large part of what football is all about for me. As for the game, I would definitely expect a bit of a backlash from Rovers after that shambolic last 30 mins against Arbroath. However Dunfermline have a few players back and have been on reasonable form of late. Expect it to be tight and tense so hopeful we can nick it and big kev can redeem himself a bit with the doubters. He has many critics in the home end and I fear a wee calamity on Saturday could see that turn hostile from some quarters. As for the ticket price, yes £24 is too expensive looking at Adult prices in isolation. However, Rovers have clearly targeted providing free entry for under 12s this season and with absolutely huge success it has to be said. There are hundreds of under 12s at every home game and these guys are the future. If this is what the pricing strategy requires to allow for this then I'm all for it. The fact we are looking at a 2nd home sell out this season and the increase in attendances across the whole of the season would suggest that the board have pretty much got the pricing right.
  3. Note there hasn't been any info on the scan of Ashcroft's hammy yesterday. Possibly good news that he hasn't returned to Dundee which may mean some hope he will still play a part this season. I feel like having a third centre half with experience may be crucial if we end up in the play-offs.
  4. £1m is some loss over one season. I know you were in league one but still there were decent crowds and I wouldn't have said the squad was particularly expansive in number or quality. You guys will probably look at the detail far more than I'd ever be interested in so will leave you to make up your own minds but as an outsider looking in, it doesn't look good at all. On a more football banterish note, does this make you the real Fife Gretna?
  5. I have to admit I'm quite enjoying Morton bodying all before them, mainly due to them giving us a decent head start first. Will be rooting for you lot next week anyway, that's for sure. Would be delighted to see you join us heading up via the play-offs. The thought of Dundee United and Aberdeen in the Championship next season also excites me greatly.
  6. Yes it did, and yes it is. As I've said though, not worth grumbling on and on about. These things happen and tend to even themselves out over time.
  7. The part where he controls it with his arm in the box.
  8. Was prob the highlight of the game to be fair. I think it's a penalty all day long under current handball rules but them's the breaks.
  9. Just watched the highlights there. Safe to say the penalty decisions have evened themselves out. Other than that, well done to Raith TV for getting 5 mins worth of footage.
  10. Oh, and forgot to add, over 4100 for a Tuesday night game is incredible. Would've been less than 1500 last season. Good Morton Support too.
  11. In terms of quality it was a shite game, but it was weirdly entertaining and could've gone either way. Both teams happy with a point and I think that showed in the last 10 mins. Easy to see how Morton have gone 16 unbeaten, a very good, organised side who battle for everything. I think we gave as good as we got in that sense though. The battle was never really won by either team and they both looked exhausted at the end. Whilst not an "advert" for Championship football, very much a Championship game. On the odd moment that football did break out I thought we looked slightly better and more likely but that didn't happen very often and certainly nowhere near enough to say we deserved to win. Think the ref dealt with the game pretty well and managed to keep a lid on a game that started off with the potential for a couple of red cards. Did he get every yellow right? Probably not, but I think overall he managed a difficult game well. MoM for me would be either of our centre halves. Didn't miss a thing all night and a very rare clean sheet. More of them will see us in with a great chance of winning this title. Brucey bonus at Tannadice too, so a good night overall.
  12. Really looking forward to this, gonna be a belter. Two good teams on good form that can give it out a bit. Anticipate a bit of needle in this one.
  13. I think he bettered it at Starks last week when he summarised that our 5 attacking substitutes were an effort to try and hold Dundee United to a draw.
  14. Ditto, Firmly want the pars to find some form tonight for both reasons highlighted above.
  15. All for the singing section and finally think they've got the right location for it.
  16. I'm so excited for this game on Friday. I'm of a vintage now where I can really appreciate a top of the table championship clash at a full starks park. I've had to endure some shite over the years so I'm gonna be there early and fuckin enjoy myself. Regardless of the result, these are good times to be a Rovers fan.
  17. I've not been told that the fall out was over a new contract..... if it was then I agree that it is petulant AF from Millen. It may have been about something completely different like umpteen shite defensive performances in a row....
  18. If anyone thinks a player with a few months left on his contract is going to down tools and throw the rattle out the pram.... can't see it myself. Have heard though that Millen and Murray have had a major fall out though, big enough that he has potentially played his last game for us. No idea if true but source is fairly reliable and the signing of Brown would add weight to that.
  19. I think we just need a game of football to play so we can start moaning about actual real stuff.
  20. Regardless of where this will sit on the all time Rovers attendance list, it is a huge game and hopefully the Rovers end is full as it looks like the away end will be.
  21. And so you should be, my query was how confident should you be of having that fully fit squad available before the end of the season.
