Eh? Shamal is a big downgrade on Stryjek. Shamal can barely hold onto a ball.

Just so I'm not blindly throwing things out there, here's a 1Y chart of Opta's scoring system for Shamal:

and here's Stryjek's one for his time with us:

Stryjek was far more influential for us, by some distance. There's an argument to be made about the defences in front of both but still

Shamal isn't as clanger prone as Stryjek but seems to make less of the impressive saves that Max did. I'll always remember the top bin save Max made against the rangers to save us a point

That person can be that much “in the know” because VAR can be (and has been) used to book players for diving when the original decision was to award a penalty.

News to me, probably says more about the folk running VAR that it was a referee who told me that...maybe his wording should have been "var can't be used to book a rangers player"

If the referee originally gives a penalty that VAR shows to be a dive, the player can (and should) be booked.

I agree they should be but I've definitely been told by someone in the know that the referee can't use it to book someone. Even if that act was to deliberately (and in this occasion, successfully) con the referee.

    Cloth tomorrow night at Stereo,

I used to play drums in a band with Paul and Rachel from Cloth back at school. Very talented siblings and delighted to see them gaining some recognition even if it's not my sort of thing.

Had my first gig in a long time last week with Millie Manders and the Shut Up at Broadcast. Outstanding show and criminal that they aren't playing bigger venues. I'll be seeing them again in January when they're on the Slam Dunk tour with [Spunge], Zebrahead and Teenage Bottlerocket. Got a few gigs booked now that life is allowing me.

    Halocene - 2nd December @ Slay, Glasgow

The Darkness - 5th December @ The Academy, Edinburgh

Slam Dunk Tour - 21st January @ Garage, Glasgow

Bowling for Soup - 22nd February @ Academy, Glasgow

Got VIP tickets for BFS which I'm over the moon about
