I'd imagine we've also saved some money on the wages of the other guys out in loan; Rafa and Hamilton etcPlus of course we managed to sell a number of player over the summer period:- Cadden
- Byrne
- Kelly
- Van Scheik - nominal fee plus sell on.
An apparently are due money for Menga as part of his loan agreement although that seems to be taking an age to come through.
Commercially I would say that was none too shabby considering none of them cost us anything.
Have I missed anyone?0 -

Livi were far from electric m8
Almost impossible to be on that surface, you won't see a good game on that all season. Shocking that the league allows such sub par pitches to be used. I demand the SFA look into this ASAP. 2 Livi players off with potential injuries all because of the surface. We should ban grass pitches NOW
Yep that's how it sounds to us too

How does Michael Stewart still get a gig on TV?
"I don't want that penalty retaken, I know it's the rules and he's not on the line but I don't want that given. Look, that makes no difference to the game."
The goalkeeper saved the penalty. It was 2-2 at that point. The game finished 2-2.
No getting away from the fact Dykes hit a worse than pish penalty....but the rules are there now. Almost the exact same thing happened in the Man City game when Aguero rolled the first one at the keeper but was retaken NOT due to the keeper being off his line but due to Rice encroaching. Why aren't the referees upholding the new rules? Seen a few other examples of the new rules not being followed; players walking across the pitch to be subbed rather than go off at the nearest touchline, the ball hitting the ref and him playing on, the uncontested drop balls being used differently in the same game and the penalties not being retaken when the keeper moves off their line. Again I'm not bitter and Dykes' penalty was atrocious plus I feel the new penalty rule is a bit harsh on keepers but it's part of the game now.

When we have 6 subs and no defenders on the bench? Mental.
That's why I'm not believing this talk of Lawson not being picked. There's no proof besides some rumours on here that he's homesick but there's proof that he wasn't 100% fit after his knock in the early games. Holt doesn't strike me as the type to leave a fit player out when he doesn't have a full bench.

Yeah there'll be times when the game is tight going into the last 20 mins and you look to the bench to see who can come on and get us a goal, and all I can see is Tiffoney.
Some of the players we have injured must be breaking down in training, fecked if I can remember most of them getting them in games this season, some haven't even played yet.
Savane came to the club out of shape according to Holt so I'd imagine they were beasting him in training and that's caused his hamstring injury. Lawson picked up an injury in the Betfred if I remember right so might not be fully fit from that. Not sure about Erskine or Robbo but both are back training and Erskine was on the bench

Think it's just Robert Snodgrass this year for Livi. We've previously had Wes Hoolahan and Graham Dorrans too, can't think of any more off the top of my head.

Was McMillan the boy who smashed Kane in the back of the head as he went to take a quick throw in?
No that was Lamie trying to knock the ball out his hands...I have a feeling McMillan was off before that. He went off injured against Motherwell last week and was a doubt for this week so I'd imagine that's why he was taken off
Yeah he was, he was a lucky boy that Dallas was being incompetent all game cause he had committed at least 2 bookable offences before that where he was either late or cynical.0 -
Actual raging....Keaghan's pish poor passing (continuing from last week) cost us the first goal and comical defending cost us the second. Dykes should never hit another penalty in his career....abysmal. What could be 2 very important points for us thrown away....hope Holt reads them the riot act.

Dunno if Robbo is fit to play, read he was injured again, great player for us but he seems to miss half the season with injuries, so frustrating. Could also stick Lawson on instead of Keaghan, gives us a link between Bartley and Dykes, Lawson likes to drive forward and is quite direct. As you mentioned though, Keaghan gives us a battler in midfield, along with Pittman, and Bartley also looks like he enjoys a good scrap, and i'd be expecting that kind of game against St Johnstone. I like how Lawson also manages to stretch his leg out and get a toe on the ball to win tackles too though, decisions, decisions.
I'm not sure a midfield of Lawson and Bartley would be without Keaghan's high intensity. Keaghan or Crawford alongside Bartley or Lawson is how I'd set up but then again I'm not a football manager lol. As for Robbo I'm sure I read this week that he and Erskine are back in training and could be available. Lawson, however, might still be carrying an injury with him being out of the squad against Motherwell

I'd have to go with the same lineup as the last time. The only poor performer from the starting lineup against Motherwell was Keaghan IMO. His passing was rank rotten but his energy and tackling are very important. I'd be inclined to get Robbo into the team, even on the bench to give us another option and potentially move to 2 up front if required.

Getting away from the pitch "debate"...I'd just like to say that's the first time I've seen the Motherwell thunder clap in person and it's very impressive. Love it

No idea if Livingston are the same as last season after their Summer losses, but that midfield would be eaten alive against them.
Our team have the same attitude as last season. The defence still looks fairly good considering and we look better going forward as a team even without and out and out goal threat

So Sportscene did show the tackle on Devlin and said it should've been a red card, still can't see the CO bothering about it.
It's done and a retrospective punishment does nothing to benefit us now. They say these things even themselves out over a season so I'm looking forward to big Pepe battering through Morelos and getting away with it

Pepe posting on Instagram, a picture of him training before the game/half time with the caption "And now I am focused enough?". Martindale had a right go at him after the game so I guess they're telling him he's not focused enough.
If he's going to continue this way he'll be binned before Christmas, into the pile of Gregg Wylde hate commentsLooks like there could be a player in there...solid in the tackle but very naïve positionally. Needs time to learn the Scottish game. Really hope he can kick on but can't see him being first choice for a while.

@LiviLion Like was said above, we get why it's a massive *yawn* for fans like yourselves, Killie, Hamilton etc...but you surely must see (objectively), that it's not enjoyable to watch regardless of the result? Nothing at all to do with us not winning yesterday, as one of my main surprises was coming on here after the game and reading how many Livi fans enjoyed the game. Can you honestly say that's a game you were happy to watch (irrespective of the result)?
Other than going back to the keeper a little too often....yes...I'd watch that kind of game every week.

Listen I get it, you have heard it all before, it’s boring, but sadly it’s also true. You don’t like the fact it keeps getting highlighted. I’m delighted every time it gets highlighted, the more the better because at some stage those that run football in Scotland will get the message when they realize you can see more football been played at Albion Rovers on that joke of a pitch than at some Premiership games.
Aye....ok.
Wasn't too long ago Motherwell had a pitch that resembled Ayr beach with the amount of sand on it...Livi's pitch is the same regardless of the weather/time of year/ how many games are played on it

Honestly I don’t understand how anyone can enjoy football on that abomination of a pitch. Maybe Livi fans are happy because they are now used to it and the style of football it brings. Last seasons cup game was spent guessing how high the rubber would reach every time the ball was kicked, we were told it would bed in and get better, it certainly has not. You can’t play good football on the ground regardless, the surface does not allow that to happen. I get that it’s about money and Livi don’t have the support to sustain top flight football without it but my god the sooner these synthetic pitches are banned in top flight football in Scotland the better. Sorry but I don’t go to games to watch players trying to stifle good flowing football, I go to actually enjoy watching good football. This is the Premiership, not Scottish league two.

Everyone except MJC on here.
As Capt Hooch says, the yellow card booking doesn't mean it can't be given a retrospective ban, wont happen though, a Livi v Motherwell game isn't going to be on anyone's radar, we'll barely get a mention on Sportscene, except to have a go at our pitch and say it was a rubbish game.
Looks like the only ones that enjoyed this game were Livi fans though, and that is prob because everyone thought we'd get a pumping, and we were pleasantly surprised on how well we stood up defensively. And we can appreciate how our players play, stifling the opposition and not allowing them to play their normal game. The purists can't appreciate that sort of thing though, unless it's free flowing expansive football they just label it rubbish.
I'd say we played some really nice football at times...the moves for Souda and Devlin's second half chances were a treat to watch
7 minutes ago, MP_MFC said:I really don't see the seethe about the Carroll challenge at the end- if anything from the other side it looked like it should have went then other way in that Caroll was down first and Devlin jumped into him, I'll defer to those closer right enough but it was not the shocker that people are making out.
Happened right in front of where I was....boy was out of control when he made the tackle and lucky not to get a red or really hurt Devlin/himself. As mentioned earlier though....nothing will happen now as this game won't register high on the Sportscene importance scale. Perhaps if Devlin got injured there would be more uproar but he got up fairly quick. Enjoyable game and nice to see us being as strong second half as we were in the first after our previous performances this season. If we can keep that level up I think we'll be ok....another striker wouldn't go amiss though. As for Pepe....he needs to take some learning from Lithgow and Lamie and just get the ball away from dangerous areas...he's trying to be a baller when he shout be putting his foot through it.

Happy with the point but felt we maybe just edged it, Devlin chance was massive.
Good hard earned point against a team that everyone is predicting to have a great season, good signs to take forward for the season.
Shocker of a tackle on Devlin near the end, ref gave a yellow though so will escape any further punishment I presume that’s still the case ?
Big game at St Johnstone next week already, can we rectify our away results starting with that ? It would be a massive result even at this early stage if we could.
Isn't that just in England? I'm sure Talbot was booked for THAT tackle against Hearts but was retrospectively banned

Holt has said he's still in the market for some .ore signings...we might have a striker on the horizon but it seems we're waiting on the Menga move being confirmedYou've been spoilt with Dobbie racking up 30+ goals a season though, there's been a lot less expectation on strikers at Livi , we've had so many different players chipping in with goals, almost everyone in our squad scored, probably the only ones that didn't score were Neil Alexander and Liam Kelly.
Might be a bit different this season though, our defence isn't likely to be as good, so we could do with a more prolific goal scorer, I doubt anyone is expecting it to be Dykes though, think we're pinning our hopes on Souda being that player.0 -

Hadn't noticed that - seems a significant increase on last year - seem to recall PATG was between £10 and £22 however I could be wrong. Also with the new ticketing system there's a £1 booking fee although the system does appear to work pretty well unlike some others.
I seem to remember the PATG price was around £24 last season. The pricing seems to be in line with most Premiership clubs too.

I'd say he was a different type of player to Dykes...even to the likes of Miller for us. He's drawn some comparisons to Ryan Hardie's style of play in the past so I think he'd work well with Dykes. Has a bit of pace about him considering his size.
