Why do they need to know the result of tomorrow’s game to ensure the don’t make the OF game a decider? Why not just make it the first game after the split?

or just schedule them to play 4 glasgow derbies in the first 4 games of the season....no chance of a title decider then

Yeah but there’s been nothing from him about it. Seeing as he’s the club chairman there ought to be something done about it.

Any other line of work he’d be taking a step back till it’s all concluded.

I don't remember Stephen Robinson taking a step back when there was criminal charges against him at Motherwell

Reckon big Dychey will be having a couple of quiet words in the dressing room at HT.

    Swinging at Nathan Paterson again?

Just pure passion from the Chelsea lads imo.

As boring as he was, Delle Alli made a good point saying the Chelsea players weren't falling out with each other to take the pressure penalty against Man United to equalise in the last minutes

  4. Never played the games, purely because I've never been able to get into first person games, but I've always been interested in the story/lore so I was delighted to see this was going to be made. About half way through the season and it's brilliant fun

Ledingham and another who's name I can't remember have been on the bench a couple times. Now's the time to find out how good they are.

I'd heard a rumour about a physical altercation between Martindale and one of the young players...assumed there was nothing in it as I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere else, but since then there's been no sign of Ledingham, Stenhouse (out on loan now) or Sharp

Time for that Shan pitch & everything else to f**k off to the championship, chances are they’ll fall out that league next season. A nothing to see here situation.

Hope next season all the pitches are like Dundee's

Ugh, how different this season could've gone for us with these tactics and that player (Stephen Kelly) on the pitch since last summer.

Aye, maybe (MAYBE) the goal difference might not be as bad....saying that...he's rarely impressed when he has had the chance this season. Not combative enough

I'm sure the wind is contributing, but Livi finding it easier to keep possession than we are, as usual. The surface is so fast that any pass has to be directly to feet or the ball just sails away and out of play. No friction in this pitch whatsoever.

Is that the same pitch that Celtic complained was "too sticky" and that the ball didn't move too well on it? Hmmm methinks nobody knows why they don't like the artificial surface

More knowledgeable about teams in Scotland than bbc sportscene presenters, commentators, and pundits. You just know they have a sheet of paper in front of them from a researcher on facts and trivia about the teams they're covering on the Friday night Championship games, and haven't a clue themselves about the teams. Even in the top flight they can barely be arsed talking about teams outside the top two, let alone know with any real knowledge how their season is going.

I remember, a number of years ago, Jim White on talk sport trying to talk up Scottish football to someone like Joey Barton. White used the OF derby, Edinburgh derby, the European success in the 60s, 70s and 80s as well as underdog stories like Livi (this was shortly after Dolly Menga v rangers). Barton challenged him and asked him if he knew where Livingston was. Proud Scotsman, football journalist, Mr transfer window and visitor to Almondvale on numerous occasions, Jim White, confidently replied..."either just south of Aberdeen or near Perth"

Why are you never getting those fans back? If you managed to build up from literally nothing to have 4000 home fans 30 years ago, then why couldn't it happen again? You are clearly in a better position to do so now, with a Championship club with a degree of history than you did at that stage where you literally murdered another club and dragged the corpse kicking and screaming into the town.

The town may have had a lot of existing Hearts, Hibs, Rangers and Celtic fans from the days before you had a league club, but that was nearly 30 years ago, and the town has a huge population of people who have grown up with Livingston FC existing at a decent level of Scottish football. In fact, a lot of folk who were young kids when Livi moved to the town will now have their own kids.

But the club giving the impression of just laying out the welcome mat to Celtic and Rangers every time they visit is hardly going to help that growth. You've got to ask the question of what is worth more to Livi in the long-term, 3000 extra Celtic or Rangers fans coming once or twice a season (when you're in the Premiership), or 200-300 locals coming along every week.

I think the rise back to the Premiership came too early for us. Perhaps a longer period of stability in the championship would have allowed us to organically grow our core support. Out of nowhere we were promoted to the Premiership and didn't have the infrastructure in place at the time. Our fans had only recently seen us relegated to League 1 and had the rumours of going part time floating around. Hopefully we can make the proverbial lemonade out of our impending return to the Championship.

Aye the news reporters were going about Livi Centre after we won the cup, and up the Boulevard when the team were going along it in the bus, asking folk about them and they had no idea who our players were, or that we'd won the cup. Impressive that someone in England was knowledgeable about Livi.

I got the impression after talking to him that he'd be able to do the same whichever side I said

It always bugs me that whenever I go out of Scotland (Wales; Northern Ireland or Southern/middle England) and say I'm from Scotland; I'm asked what team I support. When answered "Livingston" I'm met with a blank expression followed by "No; Rangers or Celtic?".

TBH its happened so often it doesn't even really bother me now.

This happened to me in a kebab shop in Kent. When I replied Livingston, the guy hit out with some facts and half a dozen names of current (at the time) players as well as legends like Bingo and Stuart Lovell....I was genuinely dumbstruck at his knowledge

The folk sitting with celtic hats on in the home end on Sunday is much more tinpot IMO. I'd be popping a blood vessel sitting beside that.

They were with a touring company who arrange trips to SPFL games, we've had plenty in the past but there had apparently been a breakdown in communication between the customer and the touring company as to which end they'd be sitting in. The family, apparently, believed they were sitting in the celtic end. The club have made a complaint to the touring company. My biggest issue with it all is allowing the display. I would rather we weren't outnumbered at home but totally understand why we do it.

Yeah it can put off some folk coming along when playing them, esp if they have kids. My neighbour supported Sevco but got ST's at Livi to take his son to the football for that very reason.

The very reason I started following Livi. My dad was brought up supporting rangers but didn't want me involved with all the bile that goes with them...took me to Livi instead and the rest, as they say, is history

Devlin isn't the player he was in 2019 any longer, when he last played for Scotland. Injuries may've reduced his athletic capability, taking a bit off his sprinting and jumping. That's just a guess, though. What's certain is that his career momentum has been lost compared to five years ago. He's trying to rebuild his career at Livi and its been a difficult start. If he stays he could definitely be an asset in the Championship next season. The drop both in level and pressure might work out well.

He looked different gravy in his first few appearances and I was genuinely excited we had managed to get him on the books. Even Callum Carson mentioned that Livi's hopes for the season could rest on keeping Devlin fit....then he got injured against County (on one of those dangerous grass pitches no less) and he's never been the same since. Thoroughly likeable guy and I'm gutted it hasn't really worked out for him

No-one was on crutches if that helps.

Mikey Devlin mumbling at the floor about how bad its been for the club and him personally. It was great as a sales evening TBH. Not criticising the guy for how he feels per se but the rest of the team were listening to him and hardly getting energized by it.

Yes; its been a very poor season but there are always positives. But, even if there weren't, there is a a way of dressing things up so that they don't sound so damn awful. Talk about the battle back to fitness; the determination to improve; players supporting each other etc. etc.

I've spoken to Mikey a few times and every time he comes across as an absolute gentleman who can't do enough for fans but on the flip side, he's got an incredibly dour demeanor. On the flipside, you have a guy like Jason Holt who talks exactly as you'd expect a club captain to talk.

  16. I wonder how much money is required to run the women's team. My understanding is the players are not professional and are not paid, hence the high turnover of players. The coaching staff would be paid, I'd assume. The women's teams were initially created by absorbing an already established women's football club so there may already be funding from the original club. It would be a horrible shame for the women's team to be punished for the failings of the men's team, especially with how well the women are doing. I'd thoroughly recommend going along and watching them on a Sunday. Totally different atmosphere and the players are playing for the love of the game. They are also very welcoming with the players making an extra effort with fans, especially youngsters. Noticed the last few times I've been down there's a small group of young lads who sing songs and even have a drum, on occasion, in an attempt to build a bit of atmosphere which is fantastic to see.

John Ward said in a (now deleted) tweet that “it was the club’s decision, make of that what you will”. I heard a few times that they were late paying, would be interested to hear if there are any payments outstanding.

That still doesn't make for great reading for Tony Macaroni. Good decision by the club if true as keeping them on would potentially run the risk of being left high and dry midseason
