  1. I was on my way into work and there were a few cars sitting behind a Mini that had pulled over at the side of the road. When I managed to drive past it I saw it was empty but when I looked to my right there was a woman sitting on a swan at the side of the road.

I don't know if she'd collided with it and was trying to calm it or was literally just trying to ride a white swan but it looked very strange.

  2. Well, none of them take minutes of meetings...
I can understand it when it's maybe only been 2 or 3 people meeting but as soon as it was mentioned there was a "misunderstanding" from the meeting when everyone involved got together I immediately thought does no-one take minutes of the meetings?
  3. For a routine defeat, I'm over it by the time I step out the car at home - yesterday wasn't a routine defeat (it was a massive fucking minter that everyone involved should be ashamed about) and I'll stew on it for a few days before We Go Again - these wee slogans drive me mental at times (and I know it isn't the media team's fault).
I had calmed down a bit by the time I got home and sat down for a bit of late lunch. I still had 15 minutes or so to watch of The View From The Terrace from the previous week so decided to watch that. I'd hardly started when on came a feature about Albion Rovers beating us in the Scottish Cup - my pot noodle was very nearly flung at the telly.
  4. I don't think he was going to make wholesale changes but he has dropped Grimshaw and Woolery who didn't play well on Wednesday and the other change is forced by injury. He could have swapped McGinley but I didn't think he played too badly on Wednesday ( I wasn't Tannadice) for Carroll and I wouldn't be playing Goss but, as I said, I didn't see him changing too much.

  5. They said earlier that the highlights programme will be reduced with no analysis and I think they said it's coming from their Aberdeen studio because of access issues to the BBC 's Glasgow studio due to COP 26. I assume this will be behind there being no results programme.

I know the Clydeside Expressway is closed across the river but it's bonkers it's stopping the BBC putting on programmes. I assume it's affecting STV also.

  6. Don't really see the issue with the re-take of the penalty. Kelly is clearly off of his line when it's taken. A re-take all day long. The awarding of the penalty in the first place? I'm not so sure that's a foul.
The absolute state of the Sportscene highlights by the way.
So you've watched Sportscene but don't accept the freeze frame shows his heel on the line and you think Kelly is clearly off his line? [emoji848]
  7. We were poor tonight and St. Mirren didn't deserve to lose but we should be seeing out a 2 goal lead. We seem to have lost the solidity we had earlier in the season even when not playing well.

It wouldn't be a game against St. Mirren without them getting a dubious penalty and having just watched Sportscene it's not a penalty for me. Even if Solhom has his leg out, Brophy plants his feet and starts his fall before any contact. He then collides with Solholm's body, not his leg - where was he supposed to disappear to? And the decision to award a retake just compounds the error.

  8. Doubling down here. This is quite embarrassing now

So he's going to have a concrete "expert" on his show tomorrow? He's no doubt found someone who will have some convoluted argument to explain how it grows/expands (it doesn't, it actually shrinks slightly as it dries out) but that isn't the point. It uses non-renewable resources whereas timber is renewable. It's as though he's never heard of the Forestry Commission.
  9. Is that not true of any team though? Like, it's how the game works?
We rely on our opponents not taking the chances they're able to create and us taking the chances we create?
Absolutely but this season we've seemed at times to have gone with the tactic of letting teams come at us, hoping they don't take their chances and we manage to nick something. Sometimes it's worked, sometimes it hasn't but we've rarely been particularly impressive.
  10. I enjoyed the second series but not as much as the first, definite shift from black comedy to more of a gangster drama. I was also distracted by some of the Glasgow scenes. The outside of the church was Ruchill Parish Church beside the Viking Pub and McDonald's in Maryhill. By coincidence, there is actually a food bank run from the church hall where they show the food bank.

  11. A lot of new developments have it in the title deeds that you can't use the property as business premises although I don't understand how that works for someone using their house as a home office. I assume it's intended to stop people using their property as something like a builder's yard or, in this case, kennels which are out of place in a residential setting.

  12. I didn't post last night but I also had a few Lidl specials along with some Jura French Oak.

Hare of the Dog from Hurly Burly in Musselburgh was so-so but I really liked Jar Nektar from Hybrid in Grangemouth and 71's Frontal Skie Baltic Porter.

This morning I'm drinking lots and lots of water. 3d97ad84739df809405d67c29351b64d.jpgb8bd0ae8e295c7314cca7502031811ea.jpg

  13. We seem to share good strikers but not so much in midfield, though I had assumed Ciftci was underwhelming with you.
He wasn't but he'd have needed to have taken underwhelming to a new level to not be displacing John Reilly from that team.

I was a big fan of Dykstra but I don't think anyone could argue against Billy Thomson having achieved more in his career. Ally Maxwell would also be a good option.
