I thought it was 50% that were supposed to be checked. Surely if you weren't checked you'd just assume others were instead (I was checked)?

I know football managers come out with nonsense but on what basis did Imrie think the better side didn't progress? If they'd won then I'd have said fair enough, they had a game plan of trying to defend and see if they could snatch something but they had only two shots on target compared to something like 11 from Motherwell.

I thought Shields looked OK but got very little to work with yesterday. He completely disappeared when put out wide though.I sort of get why managers (like Robinson and Alexander) love anywhere-across-the-front-three-ers so much. Competent, out and out, strikers are a pretty rare commodity in our market- we fairly lucked out in ending up with Watt and KVV at the same time, while the rest of teams at our level have to gamble on guys like Cummings and Griffiths or persist with the likes of Kane and Main etc.
I do feel this leads to situations like ours though, where our striking options are now essentially a talented, but angry, old Dutch man and four wingers. Even a Jordan White shaped lump to throw on in the last 15 minutes would give us something different imo.0 -

Having just caught up on Sportscene's brief highlights, it really stands out how Carroll makes no attempt to defend at their goal. At the time I looked up and, seeing he was on his own, thought he had to go it alone but we had players back. Unfortunately we didn't bother to challenge him.
Also, you can see the two-handed shove on Tierney for the penalty.1 -
Roberts got absolutely wiped out on the touchline in the first half to point thoughts of a red card went briefly through my mind. Tierney got hacked down for a professional foul and someone else went through him. I can't remember the other bookings but I really struggle to see how anyone can take issue with these. I genuinely can't remember any Motherwell challenges that were anywhere near as crude as these.
Edit: the number of bookings seems a strange thing for us all to be arguing about when we all seem to agree Morton took a chance, Motherwell were generally on top until KVV came on and then took advantage against a tiring Morton team.0 -

Sitting in the middle of the Cooper, it looked a blatant and stupid shove on Tierney to the point we were all wondering what had possessed the defender. Ball had gone over their heads but he gave a tiny guy a two-handed shove in the back. [emoji848]

I'm feeling old here, I don't think P plates were even a thing when I passed my test (late 80's). I agree they make me a bit more tolerant when I see them.

Really? Why are you not spending more throughout the squad never mind the odd player who doesn't seem much better than what you already have?In all seriousness we seemingly have approaching £5m sitting in the bank before you add in the government money.
I hope we get properly desperate in the end and start launching mega bids all over the shop.
