  1. There's been a few comments about Johnston being OK at QotS but was he not also supposed to have been pretty average at Cove. On that basis, how likely we was it we were going to be throwing a long-term contract his way before he impressed for us.? There would have been all sorts of Luke Watt comments flying about.
  2. You've put me in the mood for a Leffe! Zig Zag California IPA from Adnams and Siren - Beer 52 box I think. Really nice and smooth.
  3. Sargent Altbier from Paradise. Lovely with lots of flavour.
  4. I think we have to accept that no-one, with us or anyone else, will ever again do a Turnbull and just sign a contract purely to get the club money.
  5. Everyone seems to have a Forklift story! We didn't bother standing on a pallet, I remember standing on one of the raised forks and being driven up and down the access road at the back of the shop. That and spraying some WD40 or something like that on the back of people's overalls and setting light to them. Whatever if it was burned quickly without setting light to whatever it was on. I don't think there were actually written rules against any of this .
  6. He probably has been offered a contract and maybe does want to stay but it's looking like he doesn't want to stay for the money we're offering. As for Cornelius, I won't be surprised if he turns out to be one of those players who get caught out by the development fee being more than what teams are willing to pay for him.
  7. Yeah, I understand the intention of the development fee scheme and generally it works well but the problem of sidelining players that aren't quite worth the fee due needs addressing.
  8. Fair enough, I was going by the poster that described them as Texan polis.
  9. I'm very surprised the Texan polis didn't just shoot it.
  10. I was in for the first time after the recent Scotland v Cyprus game, quite a pub. I'm afraid lunch is up to £4.
  11. Is it still split north and south? We'll be home against Pot 2, is the rest down to the luck of the draw?
  12. I doubt they'll need piles as I think rock will be pretty shallow. Wouldn't surprise me if there's a significant cost involved with upgrading the Old Military Road in the valley to use during construction. At the moment that's phased one-way traffic when the Rest is shut which isn't really an option for the length of time it'll take to build this. I'm also not sure if the plan is to go onto the roof to clear slippage when required - I assume it is.
  13. Did Why Don't You? not have a week from each of the home nations? Although for some reason the episodes from NI seem more memorable, perhaps more for being unusual to hear that accent on TV in those days without it being voiced by an actor.
  14. If Wikipedia is correct, that scrambled effort at Livingston is his only career goal, nothing at Morton so far.
  15. I drove by the ground on my way home about 6 o'clock there and it was pretty busy already with a real buzz around. Looking forward to watching this in the sunshine tonight.
  16. Any time Mugabi has been on form, he's taken a few games to be up to speed. Losing soft goals and conceding clumsy penalties. It just seems to take him a bit of time to get rid of rustiness. As you say, the opposite of what you want in a back-up player.
  17. I think they must have as they announced the visiting support as something like 682 but it didn't look anywhere near that. Buying tickets and then finding something more appealing to do on a sunny day would probably be the explanation.
  18. Genuine question- have United fans seen any improvement under Goodwin as, from the outside, it doesn't seem like it? Particularly when you've just lost all five of your post-split games, giving him a two year deal seems really odd.
  19. The Leann was ok too but the Siren Flex California Pale Ale (which I think was also from Home Bargains) is a lovely beer.
  20. Gave you a greenie for making me laugh - we've all been there! I've missed all the Lidl talk (hoping my local branch still has some stock) but I did pop into Home Bargains and found they stocked beers from Glen Cannich brewery in Inverness-shire. All very cheap and perfectly drinkable (if slightly lacking in taste) but the Harr Hazy Pale was pretty good.
  21. I assume, if this is all about improving the best young players for the benefit of the national team, the Old Firm will step aside and suggest their Lanarkshire superiors take their place. (Forgive the pencilled league table posted by CoF in the TinPot thread).
