  1. Do you think it's like a telephone book? One for our younger readers there!
  2. Motherwell have varied from a full-on Adidas yellow (circa 1980) to something more like traffic light amber (some of the 80's strips spring to mind) butare generally more like what be considered traditional amber. Traffic lights tend to be more on the orange side than proper amber. Not much difference between claret and maroon although I think claret tends to be slightly lighter. Edit: on review, I don't think that bottom image is genuine but we did have some of a similar colour.
  3. He might have been, I suppose we'll never know now. More likely he wasn't quite to the required level.
  4. Building regulations dictate the height of the railing but, from the Cooper, it didn’t look to be in the way.
  5. When Butcher does come back, does anyone see McGinn taking SOD'S position or will Blaney drop out?
  6. Oh well, I did ask so thanks for the update. I think I'll give it a miss though.
  7. Thanks, I knew I recognised the writing style in the hillwalking thread but couldn't remember the previous name. Enjoyed his contributions there. I don't read the politics forum but quite liked reading Kincy's comments generally elsewhere. Same for White Rose Killie. Hopefully they can sort out any issues they may or may not have.
  8. Yes, that's the impression I had. More medical issue than injury. Good luck to him but I've got the feeling he's already the boo boys favourite.
  9. Cardhu Gold Reserve is also generally a good buy at less than £30. Anyway, I've just finished a bottle of Bunnahabhain Eirigh Na which I got at duty free this time last year. Duty free can be hit and miss but I tend to check a few reviews if I have time (there were three similarly priced Bunnahabhain) and this was tremendous. Sadly, it wasn't available this year but I'll report back on my alternative purchase.
  10. Not quite an expert but I've got a rough idea of the requirements. I commented before in response to an earlier picture that I was surprised there wasn't a handrail at that stage - if there is a difference in height from one side to the other of 600mm (roughly 2 feet) there needs to be something to stop people falling and that has to be about a metre high so the concrete wall isn't high enough. The steel is likely to be around 50mm in diameter so hopefully narrow enough for people's eyes to focus beyond. The design will be dictated by the regulations rather than spectator visibility unfortunately. Sorry- a bit dull but you did ask!
  11. The orange will be a tribute to former Dutch players? Is that how it works?
  12. Back home tomorrow I'm afraid so this is my last holiday beer. Ninkasi IPA has won a French Bronze Beer Award - quite a light hoppiness but very nice. And with that, enjoy your drinks, particularly if you're going on holiday. Cheers.
  13. I like Tierney as a player but not sure how he fits into Kettlewell's shape. Are there signs he might change shape? He mentioned looking to bring in some wide players - unless he's talking about wing-backs that is surprising as he sidelined all Hammell's wide players when he came in. Have we been playing with his usual 3/5 at the back?
  14. Cheating slightly here as it was last night and it was bad enough trying to keep up with the Motherwell game while out with the family. This IPA from the town's microbrewery La Graulenne is going down a treat.
  15. Trying some beers from the local brewery Au Riz De Camargue. Their white beer is quite nice but I've still not had anything on this holiday to beat Grimbergen's Pale Ale (empty bottle in background).
  16. Let us know. Like you, I think this could go either way.
  17. I've been in a few different supermarkets this holiday and the choice of standard supermarket beer in France seems to have reduced to Kronenbourg (1664 or standard) or Heineken. You used to be able to get much more variation (I liked Biere 33 but it seems to have disappeared) - I guess the predominance of huge brewers affects here as much as anywhere. You get a much better range in supermarkets of the non-standard lager style beers though and the standard draught beer in a bar (a pression) could be a Heineken, Leffe, Kronenbourg, Grimbergen or Paulaner (in the case of this campsite). I only became aware of Grimbergen a few years ago but there range really seems to have grown - this Pale Ale is delicious, tastes like a mixture of a pale ale and a white beer.
  18. From earlier this afternoon. I'm on the Grimbergen Blanche, McSquackle Jnr. is on Grimbergen Blonde (although he said he preferred mine). Both really nice in a stunning setting.
  19. We've released Jake Carroll and I'm sure we wouldn't be difficult to deal with if you want to take Nathan McGinley off our hands.
  20. And Pelforth Blonde. Less strong, less flavour. Almost seems like a normal (but very good lager) but dangerous at 5.8%.
  21. Grimbergen Blonde. Very similar to Leffe and very nice.
  22. A nice relaxing pint of Paulaner in the sun before a barbecue. This holiday will be over far too soon.
  23. Legal ebikes are restricted in power to something like 14 or 15 mph. The ones I see bombing about Glasgow (mainly delivery drivers) that don't seem to need any pedalling are, as you say, basically motor vehicles. I think they're either imported or somehow doctored to remove the restriction. It won't be long before we see some deaths on the road involving them unfortunately.
