Looking forward to Springburn again tomorrow, really want a PB - after last weeks efforts (sibling rivalry where my wee sister bet me!) I'm taking her again but reckon I will have an advantage as she is going on a works night out tonight (I'll probably be doing the Glasgow pick up in the early hours!) therefore will likely be hungover tomorrow at Parkrun

Yip, you can turn up and run - just means you won't get a "time" on the website - the bands generally come in a few days tho so hopefully will be with you soon. Come up and say hi if you come along, I am very easy to spot as I have fairly bright red hair but more crucially I'm always at the back (by a considerable distance! Lol)

There is a run that starts on a Wed at 6.30pm at the squiggly bridge (the Tradeston bridge) go to www.greatrunlocal.org to register and they will send you a timing band. You can do the 2k or the 5k - the people are absolutely lovely, everyone's really friendly and the route is pretty flat.ETA: Please don't get the "squinty" and "squiggly" bridges mixed up lol - I did that the first week and went to the wrong bridge and ended up just standing on a street corner by myself. You have Springburn and Tollcross. There is also Pollok and Victoria Park. You can reach them all easily from the city centre - will you be driving?

Springburn parkrun had to delay the start for a wee minute to let these fellas pass by... I have a sneaky feeling they probably would have got a better time than I did though!

Managed my first 10k on Tuesday, it wasn't fast or pretty but I've registered for a 10k in September so at least I've demonstrated I can do it, just a case of keeping going with the training now!

There is also Springburn and Tollcross that aren't too far away. Tollcross has some steep hills but Springburns a nice wee course for starting out. The Falkirk one will be Callendar Park. Let us know how you get on!
