I think the ref has given a foul before CCV kicks Hoilett. The Scales handball though, looks on the line to me and that would be in the box.

There's no transparency. We don't have a clue what's going on.

He pointed to the spot, and then a few seconds later indicated that it was a foul against Johnston (which is debatable as well). If it's a foul then it doesn't go to VAR. I just don't get it.

  2. Thought Aberdeen played well. Should have had a penalty but justice was done in them getting the goal at the end.

I honestly don't have a clue what VAR is doing, or what the communication process is, or what the f**k constitutes a penalty or a handball or offside anymore. It is a fucking shambles.

And I'm saying that as a supporter of a team that just benefited from it.

What are we doing? This is killing the game.

  3. If I'm an Aberdeen fan I'm raging at that. Does he blow for a foul on Johnston? Didn't look like a foul on him either.

I think that the communications need to be made publicly available and some transparency is badly needed.

Got the goal, so maybe that's justice done. We're a mess at the back, CCV aside.

  4. I’d say that we could be playing for a championship next week if we’d done this business earlier, but it’s us and we’d bottle it.

    9.5?

    Really?

Thought they absolutely fucked one of the main characters in the movie. Flat out destroyed her with a needless rewrite. The stuff they changed didn't just make the movie poorer, it actually made adapting Dune Messiah and Children of Dune even harder because of how they treated Chani in the movie.

1 exceptional scene in the movie. And the big final battle set piece should have been a few minutes longer. But the character changes they made to Chani - absolutely kills the film.

I disagree. I've read the books and thought it added some much-needed balance and made her a bit more interesting. She was pretty 2-dimensional in the books.

I am curious to see how Villeneuve manages to transition to Messiah given the change, but he's committed to it so he evidently has a plan. I don't think it fucked her character at all, or killed the film.

  6. Dune Part 2

Close to perfect, but not quite. Rushed final act and a few characters were absent for too long or had no presence on-screen (Christopher Walken).

Denis Villeneuve is a creative genius though and has turned a complicated book into a piece of epic cinema. Sets a new standard I think.

    9.5/10

Watch any video of any game, any ball into the box, there will be shirts getting pulled. I agree it's daft to do it, but only certain incidents in certain matches, if you follow me, are selected for punishment.

Pretty much. You either call them all or don’t call any. You can’t be selective about which you do and you don’t.

If there was any consistency there would be less uproar I’m sure.

Is it? The police are (understandably) investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

Is it not quite likely as part of that investigation he'll be arrested, interviewed under caution, and then released without charge?

    You’re likely right.

I find the baying for blood around Petgrave to be really distasteful and frustrating to read, which contributed towards my initial reaction.

  9. Looking at this objectively, I think both parties are “in the wrong”, so to speak. The board are disconnected from the fans and have done little to improve that relationship recently.

    But…

The Green Brigade were morons over the Hamas attacks. There was no need for that banner, it was ill-thought out, and it appeared to revel in the murder of innocent civilians. Not acceptable, regardless of your opinion on the conflict. I’m very much in Palestine’s corner with regards to illegal settlements and Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people, but that doesn’t make murder acceptable. The banner was way out of line.

I supported the waving of the flags against Madrid. I think what Israel is doing in response is wrong and breaking every rule in the book when it comes to war. But this was the game to make a point in, not the Kilmarnock one and much of the damage was already done.

I think the constant use of pyro is a joke. Some displays can be nice to look at but in most cases they’re pissing money down the drain by doing it, just to say “get it up ye!” to the club and act rebellious.

And finally the behaviour of certain fans around the turnstiles and fire exits is just neddy. Behave like that and what do you expect? I can’t say I’m certain it was the Green Brigade responsible. I’d expect it from the likes of the Bhoys, who I personally despise and who aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed. But forcing open fire doors to let people in is quite pathetic.

I like a lot of what they bring atmosphere-wise, but I think there’s just massive amounts of immaturity there that I can’t help but roll my eyes at.

  10. I’m finding the manslaughter / murder claims, many from people who haven’t watched a game of hockey in their lives, to be really distasteful. And wrong.

He catches an edge after he makes contact with the other player. At that speed it sends him flying. At first I thought it was reckless, but having seen the slow-mo replay I’m not convinced he could have done anything to avoid it.

Bizarrely the MAGA crowd are turning this into a race issue and calling it a hate crime against white people. What the f**k…
