  1. It's a massive injustice. Hibs v the Establishment
  2. Was surprised he wasn't sent off. Seen them given.
  3. That was pish. Can't make a case for us deserving anything there.
  4. A kid was facing backwards on his seat not far out of Heathrow and showing off his toy. It was a pretty cool transformer so i asked if i could see it. As he was giving it to me he dropped it and knocked the wife's pineapple juice all over her lap. 90 minutes into a sixteen hour journey, without a change of trousers. I'd have paid £40 for that.
  5. If you want a relaxing anything, don’t have three children. She probably knows this a is only arguing for £100 appearance fee sake. Sounds fair enough.
  6. My wife complains about the sound of people eating, including at the dinner table. It’s really annoying. It’s not like anyone’s slurping soup or chomping loudly with their mouths open. Some food, eg nachos, celery, apples just makes a noise because of how physics works. Talking with your mouth full is a choking hazard, as well as grotty, so fully get that.
  7. A guy at school told me that if you pull a dogs front legs apart sideways it breaks all their ribs and disables them. Can’t 100% confirm that it will work but it sounds legit.
  8. I'm not a fan of the three and thought we were forced into it last season by having no proper full backs. I don't know if McGarry is up to LB defensively, just haven't seen enough of him. Seen enough of Devlin, including at Livi, to be apprehensive about trusting him at RB. Plus we have three first choice centre backs now. I think the back three will be here to stay.
  9. Most of our ancestors didn't do those abhorrent things though. Most of most people's ancesteors would have been subsistence farmers or manual workers, possibly even indentured themselves, throughout the whole transatlantic slave period. Maybe we've benefitted from the surplus created by slave labour to the extent any of it was spent on philanthropy or to the debatable extent that trickle down benefits the wider economy. But most of the proceeds remain embedded in the ersatz classical columns of crumbling country piles or recycled in offshore trusts for family office investments. How much do you think you owe?
  10. I hope you're not trying to palm off an injured player. We can check you know, we've got a doctor.
  11. Did you not agree a fee for Baccus earlier in the year? Stick 10% on for being in the same division seems fair. Why did he end up staying?
  12. I seem to remember him being a great player up until earlier in the summer but the St Mirren thread has now demoted him to average.
  13. Some UN judge guy has come up with a figure of £19tn that the UK owes to various countries as compensation for slavery. I assume that it's relatively common ground that slavery is and was "a bad thing." I also assume that no one here has ever owned a slave. If we were to divert our entire aid budget to paying this we'd have it settled by about 3700. The UK's net assets are estimated to be about £11tn and annual government income about £1tn. So that level of payment is clearly not happening. Bit what about in principle? Should we acknowledge by making a payment that the institutions and capital base that allow us to be a first world country (mostly) were funded partly by depriving people of their liberty? Or should we just accept that times have changed and move on?
  14. It would appear that the subjective wording of the VAR protocol is open to interpretation and the referee's interpretation differs from yours, resulting in almost five days of non stop tears.
  15. I know you do, i was being a dick to amuse myself. I don't know the details of those particular groups politics, but the way the supposed moderate left enabled the defenestration and demonisation of Corbyn (who was only a moderate Social Democrat by European standards) killed any lingering hopes i had for the "Labour" party. So, aye, agree. Maybe they could learn something from the proper nutters about organisation and PR.
  16. Last group we were in we finished above Copenhagen and Lokomotiv Moscow in a group with Panathanaikos and Athletico. Two of those teams are champions league this year. Here's how we lined up for our first group match: Aberdeen TeamsheetLangfield, Hart, McNamara (de Visscher 75), Foster, Diamond, Considine (Mair 61), Nicholson, Severin (Aluko 86), Miller, Young, Clark. (thanks to afc heritage) I can only conclude that if we get past Hacken tonight, we're probably going to win the tournament.
  17. I don't know who they are. So i'd guess nothing. Are you saying you prefer Britain First?
  18. Liked his resignation letter. "I'm brilliant and i've done really well. I'll shortly be taking a lucrative directorship. See ya"
  19. Britain First Countryside Alliance Taxpayers Alliance PETA Animal Rising Probably others, antivax loonballs and big-oil anti wind-farm dupes.
  20. I agree it can be obvious, but it's not been obvious enough in slightly less clear circumstances to stop St Mirren fans crying, for days.
  21. Spfl How far back can VAR go to check a decision? As a guide, VAR will normally only go back as far as the start of the last ‘attacking phase of play” (APP). So, if a team is on the attack and the VAR says that the APP has started, if a goal is scored and there’s an obvious foul by the attacking side in the APP, the VAR will look at that as part of automatically checking the goal. Conversely, if the attacking phase comes to an end (e.g. the attacking team loses possession or the ball goes out of play), the VAR would no longer need to check that foul. The only incidents when VAR can go back to a previous phase of play is for incidents of violent conduct, spitting or mistaken identity. Ifab: For decisions/incidents relating to goals, penalty/no penalty and red cards for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO), it may be necessary to review the attacking phase of play which led directly to the decision/incident; this may include how the attacking team gained possession of the ball in open play But how long is a phase?
  22. Attacking phase. Can go back as far as the opposition losing the ball. An attacking phase ends when the defending team gets possession or the ball goes out of play. I don't think ricochets off defenders count as them taking possession.
