  1. Yeah, Telegraph saying it's Simmonds. Which is going to be a real kick in the teeth for whoever gets left out.
  2. Seems to be heavy rumours that somebody who is not a current international has been picked. Everyone seems to think it's Care or Simmonds, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Marler.
  3. Lions squad meltdown day tomorrow. What are we expecting? 5 at least? I'm mostly looking forward to being told it's unrealistic to expect any of our players in the squad ahead of the 15 English players from the the we keep beating. I reckon for Scotland Hogg will go, and may even be a dark horse for captain. I also think, despite the massive campaign against them by the English and Welsh media that Watson and Russell will definitely be there. I also think Price will make it. Sutherland's injury might rule him out, but can see Fagerson making it as well. Beyond that? I don't know. Harris is being talked up, but I think Davies has more credit in the bank. Centres are a heavy weak spot though so being defensively sound and not making too many mistakes might be enough. DVM I think also has a bigger chance than people think. He's not defensively sound, but neither are LRZ, Adams or May. DVM offers something they don't have though, and I think Gatland might want that, especially with no North. My heavy outsider from Scotland Maitland. Heavily underrated, great in defence and in the air, and deceptively quick. He doesn't get mentioned at all, but I bet he's in the discussion. I also think Johnny Gray's ability to make 500 tackles a match without missing any may see him sneak in if Tandy can be especially persuasive.
  4. To be honest with you mate, I look at what's happened to Falkirk and my overriding emotion is relief that it isn't us. We were so close in 16/17, god only knows what kind of state we would be in now if we'd been relegated then.
  5. Even at their "lowest point" there were Falkirk fans on here insisting at the end of the season that they were actually much better than St Mirren (thanks to a couple of wins in rearranged fixtures at the end of the season, after we'd won the league) and now that "The Don" had cleared out the deadwood and was signing his own players they would be winning the league the next season.
  6. Really enjoying this La Rochelle v Leinster game. Especially enjoying what a nightmare of a game James Lowe is having.
  7. Ha ha, yeah, I don't think most Scots would have Turner even starting for Scotland. James Ryan is another guy who I've never really got the hype for. He's in every squad, but he seems to be another of these guys who plays for Ireland do we've just to accept he's brilliant, but I've never seen it.
  8. You just know Matt Carley voted for Brexit and refuses to eat any of that foreign muck on his two weeks in Tenerife every year.
  9. They are clueless. Look at Sutherlands stats vs wyn Jones for 6 nations. Betcha everyone picked wyn Jones and owens who were beasted against a poor Sale team Yeah, I remember someone on here saying you could have the incredible hulk as the other prop in a Wyn Jones/Owens front row and they'd still get hammered. It's actually quite funny that the same people are the ones saying that you can't take Watson because he's not powerful enough.
  10. I watched some Lions draft thing on BT last night after the Bath game. It was really stupid where they had 4 guys taking turns to pick players for their teams. Even having to pick 8 props and 8 centres between them, none of them picked Sutherland or Harris. None picked Price either.
  11. Jesus mate, I don't think Captain Sensible has posted on here for nearly 10 years. You need to let it go, this isn't good for you.
  12. I wouldn't like to speak for every St Mirren fan obviously, but Motherwell mean absolutely nothing to me. You've clearly built up some big rivalry in your head, but what's really happened is you've just been wound up a bit by St Mirren fans through the years. You have to remember though, we do that to everyone and it's nothing personal.
  13. Sorry guys, after all that it was that weird perma-raging Motherwell fan who turned up first. Apologies to Randomguy most of all.
  14. I hate Montpellier, especially that cunty South African hooker, but I'm cheering them on with everything I've got here against Bath and their best player, that c**t Andrew Brace.
  15. f**k sake guys, that's going to be at least 3 days of Randomguy and a couple of weird Aberdeen fans not getting the joke.
  16. What's the big thing for the next home game? Did anyone think that sounded like they might be letting some fans back in?
  17. Can't believe Tony Stanger's son plays for Accies!
  18. Funnily enough, I think the opposite, JDH and Erhahon have been ok for me, won the ball, kept things moving, but McPherson has been a bit headless, keeps losing the ball, and can't find a pass.
  19. Yeah. I mean, I'm a big fan of Goodwin, and I think he's done a good job, but it's also fair to say the reason he has a reputation for making good game changing subs, is because he gets it wrong at the start too often. Part of the reason we have a bit of a reputation as a second half team as well.
  20. I don't know why he didn't just go for Mason when Fraser couldn't play, because it's 100% what's going to happen in the next ten minutes or so anyway, with Mason coming on and moving to a back 4.
  21. Yeah, everything looks really hard. I don't like the back three either. We aren't that great at defending crosses anyway, but we are playing a formation that allows teams to get loads of crosses in, and constantly pulls one of our better central defenders in Shaughnessy out to the left back position.
  22. No Brophy I see. Was a bit of talk about him maybe being back today so that's a bit disappointing. Guessing that will rule him out of the semi as well. Be interesting to see how Finlayson gets on.
  23. Yeah, just to be clear, I'm 100% happy for us to do it. There have been several occasions over the years when we have been at the bottom watching our rivals playing reserve teams, and teams that were already in the beach, and I've seen us win games in similar circumstances against teams that would usually expect to beat us. Anyway, now I've said all that it'll be a full strength team we put out.
  24. I could be wrong, but I think despite what Jim has been saying about finishing 7th, trying to win every game, etc, this is going to be a fairly experimental team today. I reckon there will be quite a few fringe players, and players returning from injury being given a start to see if they build fitness and stake a claim for the semi, and a few guys who have played a lot of games will be given a rest. It's shit for the other relegation teams I suppose, but it's the luxury afforded to teams whose league season is already over.
