  1. I've been listening to Transformer by Lou Reed quite a lot the past few days.
  2. I've just donated, it feels good to help out the club. I had already put money aside for cup final tickets so at least this way the club will get 100% of it instead of a share.
  3. I was really looking forward to hearing the new Real Estate album which came out today but, the single track aside, it was very forgettable. It's a shame because their previous albums have been great. I'm very impressed by the Undercover Dream Lovers album. Well worth checking out.
  4. I'm guessing the duvet cover was buttoned up before going in the tumble dryer. This prevents other items (pillow cases, etc.) from going inside the duvet cover and not drying properly.
  5. The seats from the away end have been used to replace broken seats in the home end.
  6. I'm looking forward to the new Real Estate album.
  7. My top ten for this year - 1. This Is How You Smile - Helado Negro 2. Nothing Great About Britain - Slowthai 3. Claude Fontaine - Claude Fontaine 4. Omoiyari - Kishi Bashi 5. Pang! - Gruff Rhys 6. Home - The Money War 7. Malibu Ken - Aesop Rock and Tobacco 8. Outer Peace - Toro y Moi 9. Oncle Jazz - Men I Trust 10. Grey Area - Lil Simz
  8. Kishi Bashi was great in Glasgow last night, he's one of the best songwriters around.
  9. The Claude Fontaine album is brilliant, I've listened to it a lot in the last few weeks.
  10. Nice one, Y Niwl are quality. I saw them play in Kirkcaldy in 2012 and have been a fan ever since. Gruff from Y Niwl has recently released a solo album called Bitw which is very good indeed.
  11. I don't get to many games due to work but I was there yesterday. It's strange, despite being 2 down at half time, I knew we weren't going to lose. There's certainly a great team spirit, which is something that's been lacking in the past few seasons. The atmosphere was great too, fair play to the young lads at the back of the stand. I know it's only October but I'm feeling rather optimistic.
  12. They are, have you seen them before? I've been a fan since finding their album 'Where We Were Together' on Bandcamp.
  13. Going to see the South Korean indie/surf band Say Sue Me at the end of the month. I've also got tickets for Kishi Bashi in November.
  14. Ha ha thanks, I'm a cautionary tale to the 'getting off at Haymarket' guys on here.
  15. That's good to know, our eldest will probably be off to uni next year so won't have that much to do with the baby. Our youngest is very helpful around the house and I'm hoping that will continue once the baby is here. Having said that, he's yet to fully enter the 'Kevin the teenager' stage so we shall wait and see.
  16. Thanks, do the older kids help out with the baby? My concern is that the age gap is too big and the baby will have no real connection with their older siblings.
  17. I honestly didn't think I would be posting in this thread. I became a Dad at 19 and again at 22. I'm 36 now and we are expecting our third child in February next year. It has came as a bit of a surprise but we're all very excited.
  18. Liam Gallagher must like him if he wanted him to support the tour. I was impressed by the Slowthai album, it's different from other 'grime' I've heard and he is clearly a talented young man. Personally, I'd rather be at a Slowthai gig than either of the Gallagher brothers.
  19. I'd add The Verve to that list and also Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. When the whole Blur vs Oasis thing was being hyped up by the media in the mid 90's, I definitely liked Blur better but neither were as great as Super Furry Animals. ETA - I just noticed Radiohead aren't on that list, was that intentional?
  20. The guy with the dreadlocks is in my college class.
  21. The new Kishi Bashi album will feature in my list this year.
  22. In 2005, I was working for Aberdeen City Council and had to attend a training course which was being held at a Catholic church just off Union Street. When we stopped for lunch, I went outside for a smoke and saw a reporter and a guy with a camera. I went over to see what was going on, they told me that the Pope had died and asked if I would like to say a few words on camera. Being on the spot, I agreed and havered for 5 minutes or so. The STV six o'clock news came on that night and there I was, commenting on the passing of John Paul II.
  23. Currently enjoying the Slowthai album.
