The problems that exist other than the weather in winter will still plague the amateur game in sumer. Lack of commitment, sponsorship, facilities. Personally I find astro horrible to play on in the summer weather. They will still cost the same regardless of the season. The problems will still exist regardless. When we do return I think a few teams will have fallen by the wayside. We will probably see the teams that are well established and well run survive. We might be surprised when we do get back and find that players now appreciate how fortunate they are to be involved in our great game.

You can watch any amateur team in a one off game and they can look bang average. Doune have lost once this season to Dumbarton Academy 2 - 1. I am sure they will go into the game with a degree of confidence. This is two well established and respected teams who have both had highs and lows over the years and are still going strong. I am sure they will still be around when many others are gone. If that's bang average I would take it all day long

ESV are in the final on merit and I am sure that whoever they play in the final will give them the utmost respect. Both Doune and Pennies are well run clubs who have players that have played in big games. Pretty sure that Doune have 3 or 4 players that won it against Sandys a few years ago so no doubt they know what's required.All makes for two interesting games.

4 Teams left. Can only be one winner. A couple of surprises today . Hopefully a genuine amateur team win it.

Interesting thread. The draw as always will play a huge part in the outcome. Just ask Tollcross, I am sure they would have hoped to have gone further. Doune and Cambusbarron can comfortably be bracketed with any of the teams left in it. Both have won it more than once and are well run by people who know there way around. Quite a few of the teams mentioned have come and gone over the past 15/20 years. Doune and Cambusbarron have run continuously for over 50 years. I await the draw with interest as a fan of the amateur game.
