  1. Woman playing football absolutely triggering the f**k out of some forum aliases right now.
  2. I think Berlin is actually a decent location for stuff to do football aside, one of the main reasons we went for it, cancellable though so if no games are anywhere near it will probs try a non host town / city as well. I couldn't be arsed with fans partying every night in a city anyway, sound old as f**k and I'm not even that old.
  3. Cheers lads, was worth a try. I'll maybe just book flights back and forth if I can't figure something out.
  4. Asked this elsewhere on the Euro 2024 travel thread but might be more appropriate here. Quite a high chance of staying in Berlin for the Euros for two weeks, was going to see if the missus and kids (will be 4yr and 1yr old) wanted to come out for one of the weeks. I guess I want to know is this a stupid idea? Is there enough to do for kids (I see there is a zoo and aquarium, also picked Prenzlauer Berg area) too young to understand the historical stuff? Is there a glaringly obvious other choice for families in Germany I should look at instead? @German Jag @Stellaboz sorry thought I'd tag some German based forum users as I didn't think the chances of this being read was very high!
  5. That's your wording, not mine. I think I've reached my conclusion based on your last few posts. Have a nice day.
  6. Where have I said my driving style changed based on the family being in the car? The statement was "Full family in the car" to emphasize the point that, this driver had no regard for who or the amount of lives he put at risk and why I wouldn't be Vinnie Jones'ing the c**t.
  7. Let me get this right then, I shouldn't overtake when safe to do so, in case the person in front is a fanny? Should we all just sit behind each other in a big precession until we reach our destination then? You then question another poster about whether it was safe to do so, why would I ever overtake when it wasn't safe to do so, it was a massive straight completely clear, is that ok now? In all honesty you sound like part of the problem on the roads. This "1 car further forward" argument is nonsense, have you never heard of progressive driving? Do you think I'm planning to stop at that one car I've passed, it's a long journey and I'll pass as many cars as I like in a safe manner. Thank you, this seemed obvious to me when I wrote it as well.
  8. It serves no real purpose either, I'm just as happy without it I think. I usually don't suffer much of a hangover though, nothing I can't deal with until a wee curer anyway. I think if I felt like hell it would be easier to say f**k that anymore. I'd say football with the lads is the main reason I end up re-starting after stopping for a while, one day turns into many far too easily. I need to give driving to a game a try, the only thing would be sitting watching my mates drink without me feeling left out and then putting up with the shite chat.
  9. Booked accom in Berlin quite a while ago with AirBNB, cancellable up to June and flights from Glasgow > Amsterdam > Berlin. For anyone looking at AirBNB have a look at reviews for cancellations by the host as I think they automatically show up there, when I booked I spotted a lot like that and stayed clear of them. I'll probably swap location if there's no games in Berlin, Hamburg or Leipzig tbh. Is anyone taking there young kids across? I'll have an almost 4yr old and 1yr old by the time I go, I know that might sound ridiculous but when I first booked this I thought it would be fine, but it's a fun stage of parenthood and I'd rather we all went for at least part of it. Now looking at options as a family, but it's quite hard to find.
  10. Tremendous effort on the drink front to chuck it, not an easy thing to do, I hope you feel not only much better but a pride in doing so. I'm actually at a point where I enjoy drinking a lot, probably drink too much at the weekends and I'd love to just chuck it altogether at the same time. It feels a lot like I drink at times just to get through something, not really sure what it is, but I think when it's over I'll stop drinking. I don't drink midweek at all and I don't miss it, annoyingly at the weekend I feel like it's just part of the ritual, especially the pre-football drinking.
  11. This was doing my head in yesterday driving home from the in laws from Glencoe to Tyndrum, some bellend in a Tesla and another car, slowing down to 35/40 most corners and then booting it on the straights. I got a chance to pass one who sped up to almost tailgating the Tesla to try and stop me pulling back in and then acted apoplectic I'd passed him, probably deeming me the dangerous driver. Full family in the car at the time, really don't know what goes through peoples heads deliberately endangering peoples lives like that. I think I'll end up Vinnie Jones'ing some c**t that does this to me again honestly. Also came as close as I've been in my life to a head on with another driver overtaking a group of cars near the Commando memorial, slowed to about 20mph and was partly in the ditch as he squeezed past. Weirdly was fairly calm about the incident knowing I could ditch the car and be ok, but overall not a pleasant experience. Starting to really hate the A82 when it's not just me in the car.
  12. I don't think I've mentioned this to anyone before, but a few months after my first child was born strange things started to happen, it got that weird that I kept notes on my phone with the details. Something that happened last night prompted me to look at the notes I left, this is more or less as I've written them down. November 1st, orb / floating object on baby monitor, rapid temperature drop on monitor and she was turned the opposite way in the Next-to-Me cot thing. She was probably not even 3 months and couldn't roll at this point. November ??, object falling off the head of the bed, daughter appearing to be looking at and trying to talk to someone when no one was in room (this happened more than once and she always fixated on the same spot) November 11th, pacing steps upstairs, this sounds like nonsense I know (but it was a very specific back and forth pacing as if soothing a baby after this the sleeping bag she was in was unzipped. November 21st, the baby monitor flickered and her comforter went from being on her head to on the bed, quite some distance away given she was 3 months it was a hell of a throw and then, the comforter re-appeared on her head and then back on the bed again. I remember saying to the missus "nah f**k this man and running upstairs" and she was lying sound asleep comforter on the bed. I can probably explain a lot of things and a lot of this could be down to the sheer tiredness you experience as a first time parent, like sure one of us could have easily put her the wrong way in the cot and forgot to zip up the sleeping bag, but with all of these things happening frequently then rational went out the window, particularly as the events coincided with being given items from my gran (who'd passed away a couple of months before she was born) just before weird things started happening.
  13. One of life's pleasures. I actually drive an Audi as well, I know that makes me a c**t by default, but I actually go out of my way to be nice to people on the road, but I find other road users assume you're a c**t and treat you as such. Can't win, should have bought a Kia.
  14. Been covered many times, but c***s that speed in 30mph zones and then get raging when you pull out in front of them are up there with the biggest c***s on the road. Yesterday was trying to creep out of a poorly sighted junction and some utter c**t in an Audi comes flying past lighting up the 'Sad face' slow down sign, just outside the school he's about to blaze past, looking at me like I'm the c**t who had to stop partially out of the junction to avoid him. One of those moments I felt like abandoning the task at hand to kick some c**t right in the baws.
  15. Simmering along nicely in here etc... Think I'll watch this over the Palace v Forest game and guarantee it finishes 0-0
  16. Thanks. Never thought about this! As suspected I was wrong.
  17. Would imagine you could sell a ticket if it was a game on the same day as Scotlands and still buy a Scotland ticket. I could be wrong though. I'm on 10 points, should have really been more, but that's largely my fault, so I'll probs try head to Georgia, but I'll also apply for tickets through the ballot.
  18. Missed a chunk of the second half trying to get tickets, fucking odd time to release ticket sales.
  19. Aged well etc... That's exactly it, it's a weird league and any team can beat anyone else on their day, been like that for a few seasons now. It was a essentially a reverse Arbroath for us on Saturday, we took our chances, played well enough and Dunfermline looked meh for the majority of it and that's how it was the week before, with us being the meh side. Was feeling fairly scunnered by that Arbroath game, but that's picked me right up, until we inevitably get pumped by big Dunc's Caley next week, love the Championship man. That ref was fucking honkin though.
  20. Just fancied the Friday off, the prof wins again!
  21. Other than that pretty good. I think the last time I was in the stand was against Celtic when the board / management at the time decided to move season ticket holders to the main stand and give them the North stand (Lambie stand) and some / all of the Jackie Husband. Awful decision other than the extra money, don't think I even visited the toilets and probably left at 3-0 down. The noise level out of the stand always impresses me, if it's even half full and fans are vocal, it does sound very loud.
  22. Reading this forum, I don't think you're the only intoxicated one.
  23. Sounds like that could have been lines for Hugh Grant for some Rom-Com film. ETA: Maybe not the last bit.
