We played some nice stuff last night, we knocked it about well and we moved the ball at pace instead of the slow passive stuff we had for a few weeks, we are starting to pick up momentum again going into this cup game against a Celtic side that isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders, absolutely no reason we can’t beat them at home on Sunday.
Greg Kiltie by the way, flys under the radar but is becoming our most important player, brilliant football brain and what a player.

Fair play to St Mirren. Deserved win. Probably the flattest and poorest we've been in the league this season.
Some weird fat c**t seemed more interested in trying to fight with the stewards than celebrate when ast amirren scired. Remember noticing him last time as well. Just a very angry individual.
Away from the shite football, what'd the script with Tannahill Road, St Mirren fans? Parked my car there and was like walking through a real life zombie apocalypse.
1 way traffic the whole game, pumped from start to finish, some team the Dee.
Thank f**k we didn’t pay over the odds for Curtis Main.

Losing Spittal would be pretty brutal, already on 9 goal contributions in the league this season, he's such an important player for us. Hopefully we can convince him to sign a new deal.
Too late for that I’m afraid.

we have the second smallest budget in the league. Im not sure what the other clubs finances are like but Dundee seem to have a bit of backing, they did a lot of buisness in the summer
Bullshit we have the 2nd smallest budget In the league.
Believe that and you will believe anything.

Ayunga will take most of the plaudits yesterday and it was great to see him back amongst the goals but Nahmani was excellent, he was dropping short to give and go and linking up play all day, brilliant pressing and lightening quick, need to remember he is only 20 but we’ve got a player on our hands.

Nahmani and Ayunga have both been superb today and linked up really well.

Surely Morton fans don’t still class St mirren as rivals?

Shankland looks like he still likes the peanut butter m&m’s, he was fond of them when he was at st mirren as well, an absolute barrel.

That was the most 1 sided 1-0 I’ve seen in a long time, should have been far more and it would have been daylight robbery had we not won.
I hope big slaphead In the hearts end that was doing the nazi salute is enjoying his night, horrible b*****ds.

Number 8 for Motherwell has been superb, best player on the park.

Here’s a good rumour for you. A pal of a boy I work with looks after Ian Gordon’s dog when he goes on holiday, and he (the boy I work with) said Montgomery would be appointed this weekend.
Thank me when you’re millionaires.
He looks after his dog

He might not go this time, but how about the next time a job comes up? Only a matter of time.
Enjoy the weekend.
Something Dundee fans don’t need to worry about, the yoyo team.

Ross wouldn't want it anyway. He's got a cushy number at Newcastle.
Neilson is the only one on that list i reckon would be a possibility. Tam Courts might be mentioned too.
O’Carrol is a no brainer. He’s very highly thought of around the club, the players love him and he is a coach for Northern Ireland.

Another option might be to offer it to Diarmuid - seems very highly regarded, knows the club and players and i'm sure would be a popular choice, and might be ready to be a manager - he was offered a job with a Northern Irish team last season but preferred to stay.
Might be reading too much into it but he also was on the pitch after the game instead of Robinson the last couple of matches, and has been doing more and more press stuff after games. Maybe a succession plan is already agreed? If so, the more i think about it, i'm all for it. All on board the Diarmuid express!
If Robinson does leave I would be trying to convince Diarmuid to stay and take over, I’m sure a club in Ireland made an approach for him to be their manager not long ago but he rejected it to stay with us as number 2, I believe he wants to be a number 1 eventually though.
He knows the club, the payers and how they tick, what system works etc, it would be a no brainer if you ask me.

Strain mentioned at the time that signing for St. Mirren was a massive deal for his mum's entire side of the family and she was absolutely made up to see him follow in his granddad's footsteps.
I don't think we'd have gotten anywhere near him if it wasn't for the Gerry Baker connection.
Bang on mate.

He absolutely does walk into our midfield. We are losing out on Clarkson doing what he does because he's having to do the dirty work which isn't his game. A good box to box midfielder improves our team no end.
I'd have loved us to go for Strain and called for us to try and sign him when we sold McCrorie but after bringing in Devlin and Dadia we won't be trying to sign him now.
Strain is far too good for the likes of Aberdeen ffs. We only got him because his family had links to the club.

That’s it in a nutshell really. If Robinson wants to move onto another level then proving himself at Hibs would be another positive step. Hibs are a bigger club than St Mirren, could offer him more money personally and a bigger budget.
If he’s offered it and has ambition then he’ll take it. If he has no ambition then he should stay where he is.
Exact same situation if McInnes gets offered it as well.

I don’t think Dunne hit the boy hard enough if I’m honest.
it really should of been more than 1-0, we never really got out of 1st gear, McMenamin seemed to be playing with a cigar behind his ear for most of the match.

In summary the Paisley losers are a 1000 points behind us in top flight league points. A 1000 points. Inject that into your veins.
Asuming we lost every game and you won every game that would take 9-10 seasons before you caught up. When in reality it will never happen. Always in our shadows. Enjoy your win in the diddy cup. But by Christ you are not even close to us in terms of league success. Not even close
It’s no shame to lose against a bigger and better team mate, a team just better all over the park with higher attendances etc, absolutely no shame in it at all

Thought Big Gogic was man of the match today to be honest, he was absolutely superb all day, solid.

McMenamin is a tremendous football player.

We are going to make a nice bit of money on Taylor, rolls Royce at the back.

Could see it was in as soon as it left his boot, what a hit son.

I take everything Robbo says to the media with a massive punch of salt to be honest.
Even if the much discussed extra striker doesn’t materialise there is no chance we go into the period to January with just one left wing back in the squad.
On that note Tanser has been brilliant so far this season, one player who very seldom gets the credit he deserves.
Tanser has been excellent in the cup games and the league games, probably our best player so far this season. Doesn’t get the credit he deserves, he’s got a cracking left foot.

This st Johnstone team are absolutely pathetic, embarrassingly bad.
