  1. Its worse than I remember. Honestly I think he forgot he was no longer a Raith player. Thats why I Thought it was pretty harsh of your fans to boo the lad after scoring for yous.
  2. There was a lot of excitement around his signing, but he has been one of our worst performers. It's clear he has some ability on the ball, but if you're full back you need to be able to defend, and literally everyone thats taken him on, has beaten him easily. Just to clear up, it definitely was MacDonald that scored it (Seen some news outlets reporting it was Matheson), as you say it was a ball across the box, he's put a foot in to intercept it, and it's bounced in.
  3. I understand where you're coming from, it definitely seems like the tactic is to stick with the same routine to practice and get better, which sometimes pays off and sometimes doesn't. The thing for me is, I can see how he wants the team to play, but the personal is just lacking in quality to execute it properly. I would really like to see him get a full transfer window and some backing in it, cause maybe if he can get some players he wants could make a difference. But as you say under the current regime, that won't happen.
  4. Another very Lacklustre performance, the first goal was unfortunate, but we must respond better to these things when they happen. I'll say it again and I'll continue saying it until he leaves, Matheson is an absolute liability defensively and will continue to get rinsed by anyone who attacks down our right side. Mullin again throwing away chances to attack by making the wrong decision and overall we are too lightweight for this league. Good to see Scott Martin back, got stuck in and actually looked like himself before injury, a positive if we can get him back in the side. Probably a very unpopular opinion here, but I feel sorry for Taylor. There's a lot of negativity around the club atm and rightly so for obvious reasons. But I genuinely don't think anyone could do much better with this current group of players.
  5. Game pretty much panned out as I expected, except for Arbroath being pretty hopeless in front of goal until the death. Arbroath are such a physical side and our lightweight players just can't deal with it, they bullied us for most of the game and tbh they just look a lot fitter which shouldn't be the case. I was on the other end of the stand, so didn't really get a good view of the penalty winning foul, seems like one of those, where if its against you, you disagree and if its for you, you agree. It's definitely a better point than last week, but we really need to change our game plan for the last half of games if we're in the lead. We look terrified and all this time wasting and being scared to get out of our own half just allows the opposition to heap the pressure on. I'm honestly getting tired of Matheson, when we need to defend its like being a man down, gets beaten far to easily. Mullin is so frustrating, it's obvious he has a bit of talent but his decision making is horrendous. Smith and Hamilton were easily our best performers today. The fact we ended the day with our back four being Matheson, Stirling, Easton and Munro is incredibly scary.
  6. This game will certainly be different to our last 2, as Arbroath can actually play some decent football and imo are the most physical side in the league. There's no way around out, this is going to be incredibly hard, our players just don't have the stature to go toe to toe with Arbroath and haven't got the quality to pass around them. Injuries to our centre backs have come at a really bad time, and due to this I think we will be forced to play the same back four that we played up at Arbroath, which really isn't ideal, as I would have wanted Hamilton at right back. I dont like being overly negative, but I really can't see how we'll get anything out of this game. I'd bite your hand off for a draw.
  7. Unbelievable, truly gutting. They've done it again, one half chance and they score to take more points away from us. To be quite honest, as soon as Matheson came on it was coming. Matheson is horrendous defensively, he gets beat far to easily and leads to us getting pressed constantly, time to punt him back to Wolves. We absolutely must take more of our chances when they come, or results this will happen again. We didn't get beat, but tough games ahead where we are unlikely to pick up many points.
  8. I still remember our last game at Cappielow in our promotion season, an exciting open game with us winning 4-3 having taken the lead 4 times. Morton haven't won a league game since beating us on the 2nd week, and we don't do winning consecutive league games. Despite not winning, of late Morton seem to be a fairly solid team, thats hard to break down, with their issues seeming to lie up front. With that in mind, and the way we play this is screaming a borefest 0-0.
  9. Needed that, really thought it wasn't going to happen as it seemed Mullin couldn't hit the target to save his life. Easton was terrific tonight, far and away the man of the match, his early clearance was as valuable as a goal. Think Queens is going to be our Voodoo team this season, needing them just now to survive. On to Morton where defeat would undo this hard work.
  10. Was expecting to lose today, but the way the game went made it more of a sickner. That's the worst performance from an opposition team I've seen this season, yet of course we still lose. It was a better performance, but there's still too many weak points in this side that consistently shine through, that will prevent getting many positive results or any run of form together.
  11. Definitely an interesting game. Thistle sitting on 4 wins and 4 losses having lost to all the teams currently above them and beaten all the teams except us below them, can't really get much more middle of the road. I got carried away last time after Taylor came in and won a league match and then and Challenge Cup match, thinking we had turned a corner only to come crashing back to earth with two really poor results. I think it'll be a really close game, which is what I'm used to against Thistle with a lot of last minute winners/equalisers in previous fixtures. But I just have a feeling our lack of quality and experience will shine through sadly.
  12. Accies don't put up highlights. They've put up both goals on their twitter. Other than that you'll have to wait for the SPFL YT weekly round up video.
  13. Fantastic performance, two great goals, but the best part was how well we defended, we stood up and handled pretty much everything they threw at us. Signs of a bit of fight in the team which has been sorely missed over the last few years. Inverness maybe suffering from an overconfidence issue, as they looked very average today and have only dropped points to the bottom 2 teams. So many great individual performances, easily 7 or 8 candidates for motm, I think Want is getting better with every game. Virtanen got stuck in, think that was the best performance from a central/defensive midfielder so far. Ryan was immense again, and closest thing to a leader we've had for a while, imo should keep the armband. Mimnaugh was silly today and was rightly sent off as both challenges were bookable. However as has been said, the referee was an absolute joke today, if there was any proper mediation on these things, that would be flagged. Hopefully we can continue this, as with our current squad it's inevitable we'll have low points, so we must take advantage of the good ones when they come along.
  14. I guess as usual we'll just have to wait and see at 2pm on Saturday. With Moyo back I just want us to go back to 2 up top, going by the Queens game, we might actually create a little more
  15. We are yet to get our first points at home, so I can't see this going any other way than an away win, this is a stick all your savings on type game. We will obviously play the same team, with maybe Virtanen and Easton coming in for Spence and Want who both got knocks against Dunfermline. There really is nothing more to say. 3-0 ICT
  16. Dunfermline 0-2 Inverness Accies 2-2 Ayr Morton 0-3 Raith Rovers Thistle 1-2 Killie QoS 1-3 Arbroath
  17. Well what do we say about that, truly horrendous. The intensity that we seen first half against Qots never showed up in the slightest, we slept through the whole match. I am honestly surprised, maybe very naive, but I wasn't expecting a performance that bad, up there with the worst games I've seen from us. Arbroath man for man were better in every department, very well drilled and knew their job, they played how I've been wishing we would for the last 7 years. I had hoped that Taylor coming in would assure us a safe place in the division, but today shows that we are in for a real struggle, and honestly we need more than a striker to fix this. On another note, had a great day out, the weather stayed decent, and Arbroath is a lovely place, could have walked round it all day (wish I had ). Great wee club and friendly locals and supporters.
  18. Arbroath 1-2 Accies Ayr United 1-1 Dunfermline Inverness CT 1-0 Thistle Kilmarnock 3-1 Morton Raith Rovers 3-1 Queen of the South
  19. No he plays defensive midfield. Our Squad numbers are a bit all over the place this season, our 7 is playing LB.
  20. My last post seems to have got some Arbroath fans backs up. I just want clarity that I wasn't suggesting we are better than Arbroath, or that the fact we are full-time and they are part-time, gives us a right to win the match. All I was getting at was that, if we are to have any hope of challenging for the league and getting promoted, these are the type of games we have to win.
  21. Cracking away day, hope the weather stays decent. No disrespect to Arbroath as they've had a good start, but really must be beating part-time teams, so anything other than a win will be disappointing. Our defence will need to be at it as Arbroath seem to be banging the goals in, so maybe see Popescu getting his debut, but I can't see who would drop out between Easton and Hamilton as both have played well so far. Think temps will still be out, can see that being the case for a few weeks to come, and as always the club will stay silent about it. It'll be very tough but I'll go for a 2-1 Accies win
