  1. If he gets straight in their team for the match against Falkirk on Saturday and they keep a clean sheet, then it's a tactical masterclass.
  2. Can't say Alloa didn't deserve something, could have a been in front if they had a little bit more luck with the shot off the bar. Alloa came and sat in early on and we didn't seem to know what to do to threaten them, which made the whole 1st half a non-event. 2nd half we managed to direct the ball on goal twice which thankfully was enough, as others have said the Alloa sub keeper was horrific, stood still for both our goals. Peach of a free kick leading to Alloa's goal, was right behind it and the curve was ridiculous. Our defence seemed to fall asleep after it hit the bar, all ball watched as Alloa hit it home. We'll play better and not win I'm sure, so I'll happily take the points and move on.
  3. Are you an expert on the support of all Scottish clubs or just ours?
  4. The latest reported figure is 848. The most interesting part I've seen is Seref planning on buying the stadium. Would be great if this goes through and McGoofey leaves Hamilton for good.
  5. A mediocre central midfielder all round, never really excelled at anything. We played him at full back mostly, which he's definitely not great at. We had him on trial during preseason and it didn't look like he'd improved much at all. unfortunately I would think championship is a level above what he's capable of. Will always remember the absolute banger he scored against Dundee though.
  6. McGowan has signed! Great news, terrific addition to the defence. If we can get a winger and a striker in, I'd say we're all set.
  7. I knew today was going to be a tougher test than what we've faced so far, but I didn't expect it to pan out like that. Enjoyed the first 40 minutes, thought we started quickly and dominated them, and should have scored 3 or 4. After that we got so lethargic and sloppy, didn't close down quick enough and it was an easy goal just before the break for Stirling. Was really hoping Rankin would have kicked them up the arse for that, but seems he did f**k all, as it continued for the whole of the 2nd half, and I felt Stirling deserved the equaliser and the draw overall. I think the weaknesses in the team and the management began to show themselves today. Obviously no need to panic at the moment, but will need to keep an eye on them if we want to challenge for the title. Think people went a bit overboard on O'hara. I definitely have a lot of time for him, as he runs himself into the ground and does help us get forward. Its down to the club to get off their arse and sign a goalscorer. Stirling showed a real resilience and belief, was really impressed with their attitude. Think they have a good chance to compete for a play-off place this season.
  8. Just when you think the social media aspect can't get any worse, they go ahead and prove you wrong. Apparently this 2nd channel will be doing video content etc, but the original will still be news, match updates and the likes. Not very clear at all. All you can do is ask why? Why can't you post all content on the 1 channel? Would that really be so hard? They need to hire a dedicated person for the social media side quickly, this shambles can't continue, beyond a joke now.
  9. Local game for me this, and looking forward to it. Haven't been to Forthbank since our last visit in one of the cups. I was confident we'd win last week, not feeling the same for this. Stirling look like they're a well organised compact side, that limit opponents to few chances. i'm sure the Falkirk game was a one off, and could be put down to the fact they had a very tough cup match a few days earlier, which by the look of things, they gave their all to try and get a result. A criticism from the Montrose game and you could argue all games so far, is we aren't taking a lot of the chances we get when they come along, which so far hasn't been an issue, but I think could be here. It looks like Rankin likes consistency, so I expect the same line up that we have been going with. But I would be tempted to change it up considering its away at a tough venue against a team that will cause us more problems than we've had so far. I'd like to see One and Henderson start, as they've been terrific from the bench and want to see if they can have that impact over 70-90 minutes. I might be in the minority for this one, but I would keep Smith in goals even if Fulton is ready, as he really hasn't put a foot wrong. A partnership will be building between him and the defence and I wouldn't want to disturb that unless there's a really good reason. I'll stay positive and predict a 1-0 win to the Accies.
  10. Would need to see it to believe it. Of course Mimnaugh hits a decent free kick as soon as he leaves us.
  11. In the end a comfortable win. You always get that nervous feeling when you're only 1 up going into the last 10 minutes, and Montrose did try to turn the screw, but I felt we dealt with them well. As other folk have said, we won't hammer teams every week, but defo need to have a bit of a cushion, to try and avoid dropping points to last minute smash and grab goals. Overall a win is a win, and I'll always take 3 points at the end of the day, so onwards and upwards. Be keeping an eye on the St Mirren game tomorrow. If St Mirren fail to win, we'll be the only SPFL team to have 100% record.
  12. Tbf, going by some Falkirk supporters, if you lose tonight, we've won the title.
  13. Yeah I would agree with this for the most part, I didn't mean that our defence was bad in any way. Just that sometimes I can see gaps that could be exploited by the better attacking players in the league. But I understand that a portion of that will be down to how new the squad is. As you say Fulton coming back will be a huge boost in goals, but it will be interesting to see how Rankin handles it. Would you put Fulton straight back in when he's ready, even if Smith continues to keep clean sheets.
  14. It's not been a great time so far after being relegated from the Prem. The 2 championship seasons we've just had, especially last season, were the worst I've experienced as a fan (Started attending games in 2006). As for this season, it's still very early days. The league cup games were ok, Cove first match was a bit of slog, but definitely enjoyed Kelty. The last 2 weeks have definitely been encouraging and got me excited for a Saturday, which is a feeling I haven't had for many years, so here's hoping it continues.
  15. Very poor statement on Facebook regarding the new page and being unable to comment. Just more signs that the board will continue to try and silence fans and the divide will remain.
  16. Montrose are a team I expected to be the front runner of the Part-time teams, pushing for a promotion place. They haven't started that well, but on paper they have goals in their team so we need to be cautious. I definitely think there's players currently on the bench that deserve to start, but I'm happy with this current set up against sides that will tire quicker than us. I wasn't at Edinburgh, but it looks like One repeated the same contribution as he did the previous week, coming off the bench fresh against tired legs and being able to kill off the game. Having not conceded yet, that gives the impression we have a solid defence, which I don't think is really the case, there are some frailties I feel. After reading some of the Montrose posts over the last few weeks, seems like they are struggling defensively, so I'm feeling like there will be a flurry of goals in this game. I'm going to predict 4-2 Accies, to keep with the extra goal a week trend, but our clean sheets coming to an end.
  17. Feel like it's going to be incredibly difficult to hold onto Oné during this window
  18. It's a shame that after supporting a club for so long, people can come along and spoil it. It's not surprising though, as we've definitely had a good number of fans disappear over the last decade or so, and highlights the negative effect McGowan and certain other people have had.
  19. Sounds like we'll need to get that 2nd goal like we did against Kelty. Hopefully make the same subs as last week, and we kill them off before it gets too hairy.
  20. Yeah tbh I would say it's odd the time you choose to post for the first time is in defence of Gerry Strain. Could have easily communicated the situation without coming across as a petulant child, something as simple as, "talks have broken down with the players agent" would have been sufficient. For me it just reeks of the same energy as McGowan's pathetic rant at the council when they didn't review their office lease, embarrassing.
  21. I did think the idea of Conner Smith coming back was too good to be true...
  22. Hopefully i'm wrong, but this Moffat link suggests that we could be losing someone, and I can only see it being One.
  23. Completely missed that Spence went to Edinburgh and forgot about Stirling. Any Edinburgh fans, how have these guys been for you?
