  1. Some result for Kilsyth yesterday beating Doune 5-0. Really surprised by the scoreline after Doune beating Steins last week in The East, expected a really tight game yesterday. Milngavie and Cambusbarron still sit as the top two after two comfortable wins yesterday against Weirs and Dal Riata. Another massive week ahead with Cambusbarron v Kilsyth and Milngavie v Doune.
  2. Mick wouldn't be coming in without guarantees regarding budgets etc. He's knocked back offers to step up in the past. He'll take Darvel up next season. Guy is a winner.
  3. Yes mate. Draw is here: http://www.caledonianleague.co.uk/l/fg/2_418505391.html All teams play each other home and away I think.
  4. Eaglesham and Kilsyth game was postponed yesterday. Milngavie won 4-2 away at Dal Riata to jump into 2nd place a point off Cambusbarron but with a game in hand over them. Cambusbarron v Dal Riata Doune v Kilsyth (biggy) Weirs v Milngavie Fixtures this week.
  5. Anything can happen in a one off cup tie mate. Especially when it gets to the nitty gritty when its about luck and bottle as muchas anything.
  6. Cambusbarron and Milngavie are the only two teams in the top 5 who hadn't played Eddlewood yet. Eddlewood had taken points off Kilsyth, Eaglesham and Doune during the season so Cambusbarron and Milngavie have been the biggest losers out of that. Milngavie in particular will be spewing as they beat Cambusbarron and Kilsyth back to back after Xmas to put themselves in a good position and now it's out of their hands again. Cambusbarron only have 3 games left and still to play Kilsyth and Doune. If Cambusbarron put 9 points on the board from their last 3 games they'll fancy themselves to finish 2nd minimum with everybody else in the top 5 cutting each others throats. It's going to be a cracking run in.
  7. I would assume Eaglesham Playing Fields. Wee tight grass park that Eaglesham always play on.
  8. Massive game in Div 1A this week with Eaglesham playing Kilsyth.
  9. They seem to have a lot of younger players now compared to last season, where did they all come from? They are on a good run of form over the last few months (since they changed managers I think?). Wouldn't be a shock at all if they beat Cambusbarron.
  10. Good win today for Eaglesham 7-0 against Viewfield
  11. Only 8 teams in the league now. Symington folded also.
  12. The member clubs voted for the new structure by a majority at the last league meeting. Nothing was forced upon anyone. With eddlewood folding, that means div 1A will be complete after 14 games. A total farce.
  13. Looks like Eddlewood have resigned from the league. That has implications in 1A as they had taken points off a lot of the teams at the top so some have benefited from it. I think Cambuslang Rangers signed some of their players and they were already struggling
  14. There's always a chance you could claw back the league but simply winning the league would need to be seen as a failure considering the squad you guys have got in my opinion. I think deep down you wouldn't be happy with that yourself but I could be wrong. Anyway, all the best for Saturday. Hopefully try and get down to watch but the weather isn't looking great. We could maybe be looking at another wipeout which would leave this game stewing for another week
  15. Think Colville have tried to play mind games all season on here and it looks like biting them in the arse. They've only went and motivated everyone else. Make no mistake if they lose on Saturday their season is over.
  16. Dunblane will be a good team in the next 2-3 years once they've adapted to amateur football. They are full of young boys in their teens and early 20s, think they'll just miss out this season as the likes of Westerlands and Mungo will bully them. If they keep everyone together you can see them developing into a good side though, just now they remind me of EKYM 2-3 years ago.
  17. No problem. You're entitled to it and it's appreciated. Most people with knowledge of the Caledonian League talking about it objectively would admit Division 1A is stronger overall, it doesn't mean EKYM aren't the best team overall though. Hope you keep up the great work you are doing at Viewfield and continue to move them in the right direction. Proper club that deserves a proper team and hopefully back in the Premier League soon again.
  18. Pennies know why they got rejected but they'll play the dumb card as usual. Caledonian League won't take any old team in just because they are a decent side. All about established clubs ran in a proper manner for them. Won't make the same mistake again after bringing Larkhall in and all the trouble they caused.
  19. In theory, all the better teams should end up in the top league eventually and they'd be the ones expected to go further in the Scottish and The West. There's only two cup competitions in the Caledonian league and I'd imagine they'll move the league cup to straight knockout now to lighten the fixture load. I think players would rather play 3/4 games a week in the last month of the season than currently see their season being potentially complete by March/April because they've only had 16 league games all season and been knocked out the cups early doors.
  20. Do you know of any teams being knocked back in recent seasons? Pennies I think.
  21. Listen I back them on here all the time. I know they're a very good side. All I said was they wouldn't have won every single game in the other division because there's a few good teams in there. I'd still have fancied EKYM to come out on top but it would have been a far more competitive league for them if they were in Div 1A. Westerlands put them out a cup a few weeks ago they aren't invincible.
  22. Better, yes. Not even close? Is rubbish. But its all about opinions.
  23. They would not have won every single game in a league with Kilsyth, Doune, Milngavie, Eaglesham, Cambusbarron. Callendar etc.
  24. Voted through by all member clubs at a league meeting last night I believe.
  25. Two relegated from Premier this season. Top 2 in each 1st Division straight up. Why would it be a slog in the lower league for certain teams? If anything, having all the 1st Division clubs in the one league makes it more competitive overall. The way the structure is just now, you could have the 7 best teams in Div 1A with a couple of teams taking hidings every other week but Div 1B has more teams at a similar standard as the struggling teams in 1A. Just now, it's just pot luck what league you end up in. If you look at 1A just now, there's 4/5 teams all in with a shout of winning the league but EKYM are running away with the other league as it isn't as strong. .
