Sorry to intercede on your forum guys.Hearing you might be signing big Jack Hamilton from us.Livi fans had so much high hopes for him.Went out on loan a couple of times as we felt it would benefit his development being so young. Notably up at Arbroath a couple of years ago where he was a stand out.Didnt work out for him down at Hartlepool unfortunately. But I still believe he's got it in his locker to do a job for you guys if you can get him.I wish him the best of luck,if you guys get him.And I suspect Mcglyn knows of him..
Would be very happy with that.
Buying out his 3 years at Raith might be a stumbling block mind.

Just a bit disappointed to see the club still advertising it given the fact the FSS basically just gifted them £350k. FSS now does exactly what FF does but with the added benefits of having a vote and board representation. Would’ve hoped the club would’ve tried to encourage the few that have signed up to over to the FSS and ended the scheme.
Agreed. Time to quietly scrap FF and throw all energy behind FSS.

2015 navy/gold is the only time I've loved a top that's broken the navy/ white/red detailing rule.

Come the end of the summer window I'd only be expecting a maximum of 6 of the current squad to form part of a starting eleven.

Apologies if this has been addressed earlier in the thread but what's Paul Goodwin's and Scottish Football Supporters Association connection to today's development? I always had the feeling Goodwin was a Walter Mitty type and the SFSA were largely discredited, so it was a surprise to see them appear in the publicity photos alongside the First Minister and Falkirk FC officials.
From what I gather he (through the SFSA) have effectively been lobbying the Scottish Government for a few years to set up the 'Fan Bank'.
I don't remember him ever being mentioned in relation to FSS before.

Because I know a fair few of the FSS committee post/read on here I just wanted to say fair play to them. It must have taken a power of work to get the bid together for something like this and you've gone and absolutely smashed it. Deserve a huge amount of credit.
As a slight aside, I've already noticed a few people talking about joining. Hopefully this good news acts as a bit of a catalyst for more signups!

Does this loan 'investment' from FSS not get the group to a position it wanted to be to have a significant fan voice?
Genuinely curious as to what would happen if FSS contributions stopped growing?
I'm not advocating for any of that by the way, just trying to understand it.
Without knowing the details yet obviously, but yeah I assume this would take the shareholding somewhere close to the 26% original aim.
Better to be representing the voices of 1000+ fans however than the ~700 currently.

Was planning on starting to contribute to FSS but almost seems like it would be in the clubs best interests to actually go down the Falkirk Forever route now.
If you believe in fan ownership then FSS is the way to go. More members leads to a stronger fan voice.

Imagine having a problem with government assisting a business to move towards community ownership.

And how in league one are we going to get a striker thats clearly a real step up in quality. It just ain't going to happen I'm afraid. Whoever comes in will have a shit record . The management will just have seen something they can improve on simple as that.
A step up in quality from the likes of MacIver? I'd like to think McGlynn will manage it.

I could probably get on board with MacIver as an Oliver replacement but that would still require one more striker to come in who is a real step up in quality.

I'd put myself on the side of keeping McGlynn but with no credit in the bank.
We really were awful since Dunfermline away (Ayr game aside) but I still just have the feeling that McGlynn can build a side capable of winning this league. However, even a poor League Cup group stage and you wouldn't see me backing him much longer.

Just think about his performance in the semi final then when he was superb.
Ah it's not the same man.
The only redemption would be if he came back and saved the final penalty in Scottish Cup final shootout.
Then I'd forgive him.

Doubt we could attract a better calibre of keeper but my depression is bad enough without having to be reminded of 2015 every Saturday.

It's entitled comments like this that really makes everyone revel in the Billy-Big-Boys arse collapsing yet again
Nah that's just you looking for something there. I'm including Falkirk has a part of a potentially weak league.
Maybe to reword it as a league without a clear strong team.

See if these games had been competitive and we narrowly lost out in the playoffs I'd be defending McGlynn - I reckon his strength is in building a squad and he is capable of winning what could potentially be a weak league 1 next year.
However, the man has embarrassed us and shown time and again this season that he bottled the big moments. Couldn't care less if he went.

I feel very much on the fence with McGlynn now.
Things were just so catastrophic at the end of last season that I really was just ready for a couple years of gradual progress which would culminate in promotion to the Championship through the playoffs or otherwise. To me McGlynn was a sensible option to guide us through a rebuild and promotion.
Last night has filled me with doubt. Nobody could have watched that first half and seen any progress from the absolute embarrassments we've had the last few years.

The real sliding doors moments of Scottish football is if Baird hadn't touched O'Hara's shot against Rangers we would be talking about O'Hara as Falkirk's greatest ever striker.
His first two games against Hibs and Rangers I thought we were looking at a world beater.

Au contraire, I find it hilarious.
I look forward to him bringing it up again in 2 months time like it's for the first time.
Council stadium ownership, Stadium roof alterations, and Boardroom leaks - Tick, Tick, Tick , he's nothing if not consistent.
I used to find it hilarious but now I start to wonder if actually he's a bit ill.

I wonder what “kind” of stand the KM would become. Imo it’s a guarantee all the “young” team and loads of KM regulars would move to the new one. Maybe we could all go up the north end of the East Stand 1st half then KM stand 2nd half
At one point or another I've sat in every stand at the stadium and my best experience was in the gazebo along the east side. Any sort of terracing/safe standing/gazebo return along that side and I'd be moving straight back.

My team for these games has to be getting back to the formation we had when we went on the long run.
4-2-3-1
Either keeper
Rowe Donaldson Henderson/MacKie McCann
McGinn Max/Henderson
Morrison Nesbitt Kennedy
Oliver
Not for me.
It worked great but was found out. McGlynn has been criticised as lacking a plan B since he returned to management but I reckon he's nailed it with the diamond.

A few years ago I reckon I'd have been closer towards the camp of "no promotion = get rid", but things are different now.
Maybe it has been the recent seasons wearing me down but I was fine with this year being about stability, both on and off the park.

I mind the first time I watched Grant (think it was possibly preseason or maybe an U20s game). He talked every single player through the game and I thought there's a Falkirk captain in the making. Real shame the injuries caught up with him.

I had Hogarth down as the best of the 4 we had on the books last season.
Agree that pairing him with an experienced backup would be smart.
