  1. The only thing that disappointed me last night was how we lost the first goal. We were right in the game at the point and to effectively gift them a goal was infuriating (not necessarily just keeper at fault, where's the midfield showing for it, where's the decisiveness to play a pass from the defence).

  2. There's actually a lot to like about Alegria. I think his hold up play is alright, his movements in the box are generally good. Currently, he wants too many touches, possibly trying to create an easier chance for himself because he hasn't had that goal to set him off yet.

The issue is, however, how long to you persist with a guy whose not scoring when you have both Oliver and Burrell off the mark behind him.

Quite disappointed in this statement, actually seems to fuel the rumours of discord rather than clarifying the situation.

Especially that last paragraph. I hope I'm just being paranoid but reads to me like the issue is with FSS as a concept rather than a grievance between directors.

Just in case anyone is interested in the kids, it was advertised earlier that our U18s were playing Camelon U20s tonight.

    Falkirk 12 Camelon 0.

Hat-trick from Scott Honeyman and doubles from Aaron Ramage, Louis Johnston, Kaine McFarlane, trialist and then a single from Liam Hall.

Not a bad result considering one poster on here said you would see better players on a Saturday morning down Dawson Park.

And before another poster (or two) complain about it not being on the official site, the two part-time media officers aren't paid to cover youth games and never have been. If a report goes up it's submitted by the coach and they publish it.

Was Carroll the 6 or the 8 last night? Both completely controlled the game.

  5. Without trying to put words into others mouths I imagine the annoyance comes from the social media/website output being quite consistently sloppy.

You can isolate every incident which would obviously trivialise the arguement, but there can be no denial that as a whole this is something which has been poor for a while now.

Been a bit of jumping down people throats, admittedly justified at times, but sometimes there has been legitimate concerns.

Struggling to get my head round the fact that people refuse to sign up to a scheme designed to support the club and inject cash on a monthly basis but would then be up for it if they suddenly had a 1 in 500 chance of winning a hospitality voucher. Missing the point I think 🤷🏼‍♂️

It is shit, but the feeling of missing out probably is the most effective way to encourage sign ups.

Each to their own, but I’m against this false separation. Every board member is also an FSS member and, based on my interactions with them, utterly committed to seeing FSS work.

Patrons are just Falkirk fans willing and able to have given an extra £10k to the club last season, money that ultimately got us to the end of the season. And I’d wager that not one of them will ever see a penny of that back, while watching their investment dilute almost immediately.

There’s an election next week. Any member of FSS as of today can put themselves forward for election. We really welcome candidates standing up now.

Yeah I don't think it is a massive issue just something that would be eventually preferable to me, I'm not going to go all pedromoutinho on this.

It makes sense that the type of person who has 10k+ in their back pocket has more time available to commit themselves to a directors role, thus more likely to put themselves forward for election.

Like I said, I'll give it another year or so (when I don't have a new born baby and a dissertation to write) and put myself forward and we can see what happens.

There's a letter from FSS in the season ticket pack, there have been 2 newsletters to members since the end of season,  another is planned for the Crunchie game,  leaflets were put out at both DIrectors' meetings last week, the website is continually updated with news stories although it was slightly slow this week because of the webmistress on holiday, there will be other recruitment drives at the start of the season. The numbers of people joining has gone up recently but in tens not hundreds which is what we need.

And, in my own personal opinion, people will join in larger numbers once they see things happening that are positive on the pitch - it is the same as ticket/season ticket sales a winning team causes enthusiasm. When the news is only bad then people are discouraged and stay away/don't sign up. I hope that we will have a new optimism under McGlynn and the signings which will come in the next few weeks will have a positive effect on everyone.

I also think transparency makes a huge difference and I think that is the one thing we've managed to change so far.

    Good to hear.

Pleased there is something in the ST pack. That was one thing I had found strange in all the season ticket announcements. Loads of stuff about contributing to charities etc but nothing about FSS.

Agree, if we get off to flyer start of the season things will become much easier.

Did we not pay money to sign John Stewart from Aberdeen? I seem to remember we signed him over David Templeton but I could be talking mince.

I reckon I must have about 12 but remember being completely convinced he was Mark Stewart's Dad. How he was only 20 when we signed him I'll never know.
