Enjoyed the equaliser today as we didn't deserve to be losing. Some fine performances from all the guys especially Rhys and Frizzell after all the recent doubts. Play like that and a wee bit more clinical/ composed over chances and we'll be fine. Hope Hancock recovers. As for the B team nonsense I still want to win, but I'd rather do that to Arbroath.

Raith Rovers v Airdrie Utd
Chapelhall chap replied to Enigma's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
I thought this was so much better from Airdrie after some recent insipid stuff, and a brave change in set up from Rhys. What was obvious was how much effort also went into the game from all the players. I have to confess that some of Raiths early crosses did get me worried that an early goal was coming. When it didn't we were the more attacking side and it was a sickener when Hancock's injury knocked us out of stride. Obviously a great strike by Smith and it was a slightly disbelieving half time chat. Can't quite say how the equaliser came but clearly Todorov enjoyed it as did I. Raith are clearly a top four team but I can't see anyone dragging Dundee United off the top. Certainly Raith have injuries affecting them but I enjoyed the game and getting a wee something over Mr Murray. Good pie before the game, with a crispy crust. Lovely. -

I thought for a minute you had the score as 1-11 . -

Tickets bought today and I expect another away struggle: as others have posted we've chopped and changed players recently and still stuck to the McCabe ways and failed to win. Can't imagine Raith will be as uninspiring as they were in the last game. It would still be good to get another one over Mr Murray, although I don't feel irritated by the ex players, and given the weather advice I'll be prepared. -
I got the Airdrie zero correct and United did not give us the heavy defeat I'd been worried about after their recent scoring bouts. The first period was really dominated by United and although the opening goal was a bit careless from our defence it was merited. I felt we improved for a while and McGregor had two good attempts and I thought the second was going in from the goalies block. At half time I thought we were in it but that careless error led to the killer second goal. United simply game managed it so calmly and we never looked like getting back in. I also agree that Sibbald was very good and with the experience and squad size United have then it's their league title to squander. On Airdrieonians it's another learning experience and I hope we get the good rather than the careless.

Long road to Stranraer but we have a good recent record over them Better than meeting another team from the same league, and it's years since I could say that. No chance of it being on TV .

No great music stars from Airdrie- maybe the Big Dish and certainly Dean Ford of Marmalade, but can't confirm they were Diamonds. I think they had a No 1 single in UK but have Deacon Blue? ( a marvelous group). I'm going to lose the plot and say United have used up their ration of goals. 0-0 draw! The nurse is just calling me.

ICT v AIRDRIEONIANS 28/10/23

Relying on those who attended for the posts, so thanks for the views. Sounds as if my absence went unnoticed so I can get geed up for Tuesday. The curry at Chakoo in Glasgow was excellent and I got a point in the Prediction table from a defeat! -

Missing out today so it's social media checks till then. Did think we would lose today and when I miss an away game we usually surprise me- so let's hope! -
My memory is a wee bit out: that 8-2 game was in the League Cup section game in 1965 after a 6-1 win at Broomfield.

I might well have been there as an 11 year old but it didn't stop me going back . I've suffered a 7-1 at Gayfield, a 7-0 at Firhill and 7-2 recently , as well as losing 8 at Cliftonhill shortly after scoring 8 in the 1980s against the Rovers a week before it at Broomfield! Strange scores indeed.

I think it was the other way around as a Hibs win at Broomfield and thankfully I missed it.

Just back in to heat up despite all the winter gear in a windblown stadium. A game where two defensive errors produced two goals . I could argue that Gallagher's one was at least a skillful finish so I suppose I should concede that the Queen's guy took full advantage of Rae's assist. That kind of play it out from the back error has been ever a risk this season. Thought Ferrie had a couple of good saves and a draw was probably fair. Somehow we've got to the top four but I thought our midfield never really got going tonight. First quarter over so quite pleased even if my prediction failed again. Warmed up at last. -
I just love the prospect of two visits to Cappielow and another away game in this marvelous cup competition ( assuming that we beat, apparently our big team). Being a hypocrite I'll reverse my dislike of the colts inclusion and go to the delayed game.

Once went to Brechin for a 19.45 kick off, and due to accident on Forth Bridge some Brechin players were not there. Both clubs agreed to delay and after seeing half of European game in nearby pub we went back to the ground for a 20.50 start .Would have been better advised to stay in the pub as we got humped by the late arrivals. Back in Airdrie well after midnight.
