  1. Posting before catching up. Thought we deserved the win again and achieved through team efforts all over the pitch

The first goal is always crucial and I can't remember Rae having any difficulties

Expected Raith to mount some sort of comeback but they missed Stanton in the middle as an attacking/driving force. Airdrie's full backs negated any width and Todorov was a nuisance all day with the bonus of a goal again.

That's Murray surpassed his three sub tactic from the first game and maybe the first time I've ever seen that.

Last four games have been excellent.

Come from behind and win late on you say. I think some Dundee Untied fans will start having strokes if we keep that up.

Much as I don't care who wins the title, it would be good to see United fail to even go up, and a newish face for the hidebound Premier league. That's after of course you don't leave Airdrie with three points.

  3. I'm going for a draw and both games have been good adverts for good football. Thought Airdrie caught Raith a bit cold in your only defeat and deserved to win. The second one could have gone either way and it was one of our better performances.

We've had a stutter but seen to have passed through it so I look forward to a good match.

Hope it's not a repeat of that famous match where Raith won it in the last few minutes having been behind!

Great to see frizzell back to his best today. I’ve never bought the ‘just not up to this level’ shouts, think it was much more of a confidence issue than a lack of ability.

Everyone was good today although Hancock was my motm.

I agree that Frizzell was indeed back to his best and it was a game where we pressed Caley any time we lost the ball

I also wonder if the absence of young McStravick was actually a bonus as there was no need to find him and the space for Hancock was there all day for our midfield to keep driving on. Also Rhys being there was so much more assured and competitive.

Great start to 24 and I'd love to see us stall the Kirkcaldy steam engine again .

  5. Once we scored from the corner, (yet again! ) this was a comfortable and deserved win , given how well we had attacked in the first half. The "foul" which led to  the second night we'll have been for a sneaky wee jersey pull, but who knows. Caleys defending was not clever but Todorov has a habit of being in there for it. Fordyce never missed a header all day, including a wee headed elbow, and it was great to see him score.

Hancock was our best player in first half and Frizzell was back to his very best today ( McStravick missing ?) so it was a very pleasant start to 2024.

On Caley that number 44 was dire, and it looked as if they'd come for a draw. Certainly no McKay helped us for the first half and he was rarely backed up in second half.

On the Ref he did have some strange calls but Caley lost for other reasons,  so Duncan was being a bit of a loose cannon going on to the long walk confrontation .

I'd gone for 2-1 but preferred Airdrie reducing our negative goal difference, than me getting three points!

Big Dunc seemed upset and red carded after the final whistle. No idea what gripe he had with ref but poor show for ignoring the Airdrie bench.

He has been having a running verbal with the lino over Airdrie free kick and goal at second. He did shake hands with Hutton etc on his further walk and confronted the Ref. Nearly the furthest his attackers had been at that end in first half. As said many years ago:

    Big Skinny B......

Looking forward to a quality viewing experience and an Airdrie win. Too late to ask Santa?

Thanks to Santa. Had I posted during the first half I'd have bemoaned two duff sides especially Airdrie and a daft decision by Josh Rae for a clear penalty. I'd lost count of the number of times our passing tactician ( Rhys) had launched long cross field missiles out of the pitch until suddenly around 60 minutes Queens retreated all over the park. That saw us miss a sitter, score from the corner, survive a super shot for a Queen's lead, and have Todorov somehow turning into Kenny Dalglish'  a la Spain,  for that dramatic winner.

Football's a funny old game but I suspect no one laughed at the home end.

Still only half way through the season but that was a crucial result for both sides.

Another Toddy is needed mind you to thaw me out!

    Happy New year.
