  1. Having slated the challenge cup changes over the years, this hypocrite is heading to the Falkirk stadium for the chance to see a cup win in a centenary year.

TNS can't be underestimated so I'm hoping we're on our A game. Have enjoyed our recent visits to Falkirk so please keep it going.

I'd need to see it again but our thought our keeper was at fault for Arbroath's 2nd, the balls squared across, well inside the 6 yard box. Looked a bit hesitant to me but understandable given his lack of games.

Looking at the highlights,  it could be he thinks Dycey is dealing with it but as said above there's three of our guys not reacting. We got back quite quickly with  the Telfer goal.

Like you I'd need to see it and it's a stop the cross situation as well. Understand he's a wee bit rusty but our defence mainly saw him through.

  4. After that sticky period and Dows quick run in for the opener, we finally got the midfield and forwards going , especially Lyall and McStravick.

Good to see five different scorers and although Boric was dodgy at Watsons goal he saved a bit of a hiding later on.

Arbroath did show a bit of a fight early on but once Airdrie got the fourth they  looked like a side soon facing relegation.

I like McKenna as a player but his foul on Frizzel was worthy of a straight red card. Little and O'Brien now seem just beyond their great partnership.

Hard to judge our new keeper but our defence was excellent for the most part. It certainly did help when Reilly went off and Mega had that side to himself from then on.

    Onwards to the cup final.

Hi airdrie fans, I come in peace. Bit off topic. Im watching a bbc documentary on the miners strike of the 80’s and it’s a great watch, if you haven’t already. I was just a wee guy in the 80’s but I do remember your goalie,John Martin, getting ‘scab’ abuse. Anyone of a certain vintage shed light on this? I 100% joined in on the shouts of “scab, scab, scab……” without fully knowing what it meant. Horrible time for all miners and there was only one woman responsible for it all.

There is material in the biography produced by John O'Brien which I have somewhere. It's largely on the same lines as the Scotsman report.

  6. Back from the game so catching up on all those who watch on a stream, and it's different perspectives that make the posts interesting.

We scored, Dunfermline failed to make Rae have to save, and so many balls fired up into the air by both sides.

I did like Otoo in the midfield but once McGill scored that second, Dunfermline looked unlikely to score.

Clearly I'll need to see the Frizzel foul clip as it was too far away from my stand seat.

    Mental League.

  7. Frizzel turning back has been a feature for a while and led to that goal. It was a belter by Thomas mind you.

Friz was better in wide right second half so I'll cut him some slack. The glaring weakness was McMaster sitting so far back and I thought it was tough on Telfer to be subbed.

Finally someone decided to drive in and shoot so well done Hancock.

Better second half and although we had lots of scrambled pressure, Queens Park also had some good chances.

Felt Thomas and Paton has the edge over our defence until late on whilst we didn't really threaten their back four.

Both teams very even and the League table doesn't lie.

McCabe needs to play on Tuesday at another tough venue.

  8. Gone for a home win but all the games have been close and while Queens have been improving under Davidson, I'm hoping we can dent that momentum.

More importantly we both need Arbroath to continue dropping points.

Plenty street parking outside the stadium but maybe easier to use the away car park if away fan. There are temporary lights on the A73 Carlisle Rd bend leaving Chapelhall but it flows quite well.
