  1. Carswell has now left an independence Party in order to become an Independent MP. Maybe his next move is to join another Independence Party? I am confused.
  2. Having experienced Gordon Dalziel and Mark Wilson this season, I suspect Willie Rennie who can face two different ways in the same referendum views , is our manager!
  3. Yes I did see all that and he would never get my vote( Nor an other Tory) but it is good to shout at the telly when he gets so much wrong.
  4. I quite like Jacob when you know he is at the wind up. I may be wrong but I am sure he said last night that the leave vote in Scotland was as close as you can get to 40%. If his pedantry extends to sums, then 39% would be that figure. I think it was 32% which is much closer to 30%. If Jacob's approach to sums works like this he should replace Phillip Hammond as soon as possible and the UK deficit will vanish overnight.
  5. Its very similar to what a UKIP guy on QT some years ago said about stopping the shoveling of Barnett money over Hadrian's wall. They appear not to have noticed that the area to the north is actually in England. It includes of course Berwick and the only English side in the SPFL, and Carlisle and the border area where wee former British Army "Rory" the Tory has built his cairn. Maybe they'll take the stones for the new wall. Maybe the post is not real-surely a Welsh Farmer knows where walls are placed?
  6. I don't always agree with your views on Independence etc but I read them with some care. If I had the time to peruse your long post I might give it some thought but I am too worried about Saturdays game.
  7. No doubt you'll get the usual "no bus fare" comment. A lot of my Old firm colleagues could never accept that as an Airdrie fan I disliked both of their ideologies.( And Motherwell)
  8. Just spent ten minutes catching up on all the posts. It will be even longer as the whole Brexit/Independence bandwagons roll on and I am looking forward to all of it. My only quibble today was that May said there would be further division and uncertainty, which surely means she is responsible for the current division and uncertainty? And poor wee Ruth was upset that she had not been informed of the contents of the speech before it was made; where was she when Cameron strode out to announce English votes for English Laws?
  9. What pledge was broken? No chance of doing it from 2007 as a minority government with Labour Opposition. From the manifesto in 2011 a decision to review and consult, and then decide. That was done but I agree the SNP chose to avoid replacing it because it was politically sensitive. ( and would impact on grant from Westminster on Housing benefits I'm think) My point was Kez always has to criticize the SNP regardless of the question asked. If Airdrie lose at Cliftonhill today she would blame the SNP. I will blame the manager! If we win I will praise him
  10. I watched it with the good lady as usual and we took a bet how long it would take Kezia to attack the SNP in a non SNP question ; I lost it because I thought she might hold back for the inevitable IndyRef2 question, but it happened almost instantly in a question on "keeping manifesto promises" . No one also pointed out that the rush for Grammars in England was not in the Conservative manifesto of 2015-maybe that is why the Tory rambled on about choice and free schools. At least Fraser Nelson opposed this policy so he is not always a Tory mouthpiece. I also wondered about Kezia claiming she represented 450,000 voters in Edinburgh-amazing what a list MSP has to do. I was puzzled by the man with a Scottish accent, who said he had a fellow pupil in his Higher class who had started out in Remedial , and that was an argument in favour of Grammars! Tasmina does tend to prattle on but Dimbleby should be retired asap.
  11. I think Anglicans (i.e the Church of England) still "observe" Lent although Roman Catholics and many other Christians, probably do it more. Mrs May says she is still a practicing Anglican (Her father was a vicar in the C of E) Given that the last Conservative female PM moved from a Methodist background to the C of E , Theresa is already one step ahead. If only she could "suffer the little children to come unto me" under the Dubbs scheme. Mind you Tony Blair was also an Anglican and he became a Roman catholic; may his sins find him out.
  12. I actually agree with you about Greening et alia ; And much of your other posts tonight . I thought the most bizarre thing was Oakeshot insisting that we need a stronger opposition and then spent the rest of the night attacking Rayner for expressing opposition to the Conservatives. As for Carswell his slack jaw always reminds me of Ronnie Carrol from the pre Beatles era and he is much a dinosaur now as Carroll was then. Be unusual if David Dimbleby gets the by election predictions right?
  13. I may be wrong but I don't think Justine has any children? Did she not "come out" as same sex partner in June 16, but that would not prevent her becoming a "mummy" scummy or not. Carswell of course was a Conservative MP before being elected as UKIP MP. I don't think he is the weirdest; what about the Front bench transport man who shut the Bridges today? Usual balanced panel for Brexit night again.
  14. More than welcome to see if the 2nd look like any kind of challenge to you since we are not. Do you want to give Alloa any money? Maybe the Lowland League is the best? All the best to you.
  15. Thanks for your help and I can now see how that phrase also makes sense, having googled the use of "other". I genuinely thought you had made a typo as I have often done myself. Sometimes I cant figure out how to back space to correct my spelling. My ignorance has now been corrected.
  16. a completely other word" by McSpreader. Did you mean a completely different word?
  17. Thanks for that info on League games. East Fife at Broomfield was 814 and 833. Airdrie's game against the Rovers at 1633 was actually one more than a League Cup game against Partick but I was on holiday which would have made it 1633. I wonder what the attendances were like in that revamped competition in general. If it was still competitive maybe the fourth game might attract over 1000 but I suspect it will not matter too much to the marginals; I will be there whatever the scenario as I quite like visiting Livingston anyway for retail if not the football failures! Make sure you pay a visit on 18th in return. Cheers
  18. Apologies for being poor at Arithmetic. I agree you are correct but I do find it amazing that as we have largely been crap for much of the season that the average is higher. My guess is that the 1600 against Albion Rovers in the second derby has done the trick. Given that we have no real home derbies in the rest of the season I have to admit you might be right. Lets wait till the end of the season for the final results . What has been Livingston's largest home gate?
  19. Airdieonians FC 878 10 2,0% 1.633 2 Livingston FC 825 9 -53,2% Played one game less so I would imagine Livingston would overtake. Not like an Airdrie fan/journalist to present "alternative facts"
  20. Thanks for that info. I should be able to have my other sources spot him in our "highest average" crowds. I only wish I had your computing skills to display these links!
  21. I just like debate even when it can be mischievous. Yes I think Andy did dangle it out there and it worked, but I also think the journalist exaggerated as the press have to do to keep readers. As for Callum being an Airdrie fan , I would not know, ( I thought I knew all the Airdrie supporting journalists from Jim Traynor onwards) but remember Chick Young always claimed to be a St Mirren fan and our current DOF(!) claims to be a Motherwell fan on occasions.( Usually when he is at Ibrox watching his other team while we play our game) I remember when Morton got promoted a few seasons ago most of the websites were filled with Morton fans berating Jim Duffy and the players; maybe Hopkins will repeat that success despite the many criticisms of him. As long as we can halt that temporarily next time.
  22. "You must've known the Airdrie fans would be all over it though" I like reading all the threads on the site as they give much info. and debate that the "tabloid" and "broadsheet" or indeed SPLScene/ STVsport simply ignore. So if some Airdrie fans respond, that is a sign of interest on my part at least in all the League One clubs. I read a really good thread on the SPL site about how fans of one club saw the experience of home and away games in their League and which clubs they liked/disliked: the banter was friendly but challenging.
  23. I agree with you about the Daily Ranger. The article was very interesting but I don't know who he thinks does not give Livingston the credit they deserve. Certainly fan forums will always produce rivalry between clubs but I think that in the games I have seen this season Livingston have been the most impressive opponents. They thoroughly deserve credit for achieving the top spot although some of the fans of clubs they have lost to, naturally see it another way. I was surprised that Airdrieonians appear to have a higher average attendance. given that we have struggled to attract marginal fans over the last few years.Would it not be a bit of a worry to the owners at Livingston that a full time set up might become unsustainable even in the "Championship" if crowds are dropping in a successful and entertaining side? I look forward to the next attempt to derail your route to the title but I am not optimistic given our long term record against Livingston.
  24. Apologies to all Airdrieonians fans as I have just noticed that I also referred to them as Airdrie. I will write out " I must write Airdrieonians" at least twice as a punishment.
