  1. So it’s off to the Kingdom today for another important game. I am biting the bullet to go and support my team and pay the entrance price with a donation to the Dick Campbell wages fund. We were a bit unlucky last Saturday with Peterhead getting a late equaliser. The wide open spaces of Methil will still be wide open to the wind. Don’t expect a classic and hope that we come away with something. C’mon The Rose
  2. Well after all the rain this week I can’t believe that the game is on , so well done to those who have been working on the pitch to make sure it’s playable. It’s not going to be a pretty game for sure with the wind also into the equation. Thought it was a so-so start for Callum last Saturday, how we need to score more goals and as usual the first goal today again being all important. Expect a lot of the fans will be regularly checking their phone to check on the score in an important game elsewhere in Central Scotland. C’mon The Rose
  3. So a new era starts for The Rose on Saturday. My personal thanks to Robbie and his team for the journey of his tenure at The Rose it has certainly been a fantastic journey from level 7 when he came to the club to now be at level 4 with a few League Championships and Cups along the way.. So it’s a welcome and good luck to Callum Elliot and his team with a massive opening match for The Rose. I feel we must get something out of the game and as usual the first goal of the game will be all important. Looks like it’s gonna be dry for the game and little wind. Another nail biting day awaits. C’mon The Rose
  4. Well it looks as if the game today will be going ahead. Not the best of early Spring days. As usual the games against the sons are turgid affairs. Don’t expect this to change today with The Rose now battling to stay in the League. We did score a very early goal last week but in the end was all in vain. Would be happy to come away from “The Rock” with something. C’mon The Rose
  5. Just getting ready to leave the house for the short walk to the Boomtown Bernebeu. Certainly gonna be a heavy pitch today in a vitally important game for both teams. I don’t expect a classic and as usual the first goal of the game (if either team scores one) will also be important. Will wear gloves today to save my fingernails getting further damage. C’mon The Rose
  6. Last trip to the Highlands this season for The Rose and so far not very profitable, so hopefully that can change today. We salvaged a deserved point at the end of the game on Tuesday after the assault on Brad for the penalty. It was great to see Kieron score a well taken opportunity and hope he can go on a scoring run till the end of the season. Again first goal all important again. C’mon The Rose
  7. Well it’s a local derby midweek match at the Boomtown Bernebeu. The pitch held up well on Saturday so should be same tonight. Both teams suffered home defeats on Saturday past. Once again we were powder puff and failed to make many scoring opportunities, surely that has to change someday, tonight would be a great time to start but our previous games against our nearest League neighbours are normally tight low scoring affairs and I see tonight no different. As usual the first goal is all important. C’mon The Rose
  8. Well it’s rather wet in Boomtown at the moment so another game on a likely heavy pitch. Surely we will perform better today than last Saturdays tepid performance at Spartans. We don’t have a good record against the League leaders so it would be a great result for us if we can put another dent in their promotion push. Scoring the first goal of the game is again all important today. C’mon The Rose
  9. A massive local derby today in North Edinburgh. The game there last September was an exception for me with 4 goals shared on the day and us losing a 2 goal lead on the day. Goals have dried up for us in our last few games so we have to score today preferably the first goal. Usually tight affairs against Spartans and I don’t expect anything different today. C’mon The Rose
  10. So back to the Boomtown Bernebeu this afternoon in the main business of the season. I am sure all Rose fans were more than happy with our performance at Pittodrie last Saturday, it would have been nice for the team and fans to have been rewarded with a goal but was not to be. It’s a decent day to watch a match and no rugby on tele to keep fans at home so should be a good turnout, will East Fife bring extra coach loads of fans at the beginning of their new Managers tenure? After last week’s performance I would expect the Rose to field the same starting 11 which may be tough on Mercer and Byrne. 3pts by 5pm today would be massive. C’mon The Rose
  11. It would seem that it was also a meh performance from Aberdeen behind the scenes. I don’t know what the protocol are in the Scottish Premiership for hospitality, but I have seen a tweet from an esteemed Rose man who said that the home club laid on No food after the game for the visiting players. I think that is a piss poor performance to the Dons foe that. C’mon The Rose
  12. And from the bottom of my Rosey Posey heart I thank Aberdeen for appointing Warnock as their new Manager in the week of a Scottish Cup match. I also thought it may add a couple more thousand home fans to the game which will be a fantastic boost to our coffers. I also give you massive credit for your admission prices. We are likely to bring a lot of families with us and the admission money makes it reachable for parents to give their kids a good day out. I don’t suppose Warnock had heard of Bonnyrigg Rose till his appointment and can imagine his response when informed. Look forward to my trip to Aberdeen on Saturday. PS. Does anyone know if VAR will be in operation for this game? C’mon The Rose
  13. Another midweek League game at the Boomtown Bernebeu tonight, hope it’s a better game than we witnessed on Saturday, still the same pitch and less windy. As usual in these contests scoring the 1st goal is all important. We never made many chances on Saturday so hopefully take advantage of any chances that come our way tonight. Every player will be looking for a good performance in order to be selected in Saturdays big. C’mon The Rose
  14. Well it’s been a busy week at the Boomtown Bernebeu, a few new players in, wonder how many will start today. We certainly needed defensive reinforcements. Wonder where Josh is? he has been missing the last few weeks. 3 big games for us this week and surely 6pts out of 6 must be the target for the 2 League games which will be a massive boost to our confidence and League position. Imagine the pitch won’t be as heavy as the last game played on it and the strong breeze does not effect the game too much. C’mon The Rose
  15. Yes I am one of them. Time you were coming in to the 21st Century football not the Victorian era. Reminder we are where we are on merit, gained by success on the football field, good ambition, management of the club, a good faithful band of supporters , no sugar daddy. I will not vent my further displeasure at your insulting, disrespectful attitude from a non ambitious club who have who like others who have fallen through the trap door looked for hand outs and grants to maintain their existence. I like a many other Rose supporters will visit your unambitious club today, pay my entry money, With your attitude I really grudge paying the entry money. My club the best supported in the League remember bring most number of fans to your club when we play there. May I also remind you that you have not beaten us at your ground since we WON promotion to SPFL 2. C’mon The Rose PS. Rose fans support their club every match and not slate it cowardly behind a keyboard.
  16. We know the two games that some Scandinavian streaming service will choose. For me the Beeb should get first pick as I admire the way they televise the earlier rounds of the Cup and give the teams further down the pyramid exposure. Rather than the streaming mob enter the draw when the big teams enter the competition. Personally I would prefer a 3pm kick off on the Saturday. C’mon The Rose
  17. Well done to the ground staff for getting the pitch at Boomtown Bernebeu playable for a big Scottish Cup tie today. Pitch will sure be heavy and bobbly and a likely troublesome wind. With conditions it may be a game of two halves. Would be great if we can score the first goal today and give us something to hold on to. It’s a free hit for The Rose and there should be a cracking atmosphere. I am getting more exited by the minute and look forward to a good afternoon out. C’mon The Rose
  18. So it’s a welcome to those from The Rock to the Boomtown Bernebeu this afternoon, wonder if they will still be rolling come the end of the game. Our best result as a Junior club of course when we beat them in a Scottish Cup replay a few years ago, since then we have struggled to get the upper hand against them. The 4-0 result in the last game was a rarity. Back to a tight encounter today. Surely we will put on a better performance than we did last Saturday. C’mon The Rose
  19. Ah we’re here lads don’t worry . The biggest support in the League will be descending on your rented home very shortly. It’s a decent winter day for a game and no gale blowing to spoil it. We have had 2 good results this season against the bottom of the League team and it would be great if that continues this afternoon. 2 forwards have left the club this week so those remaining must step up their goals/games ratio. C’mon The Rose
  20. Well it a typical midwinter dreich day in Boomtown. Big game at the Boomtown Bernebeu this afternoon with the visit of Spartans one place above us in the League. We had a great result over in the Kingdom last week(although I was absent). It will be a tough slog in heavy conditions this afternoon. We threw away a comfortable 2 goal lead at their place earlier in the season, hopefully we can finish 2023 on a high. C’mon The Rose
  21. Well East Fife can shove it again, still no reduction in admission prices. I will sit in the Anvil and check my phone for the updates. Don’t expect the game to be a classic and we can come away with something from the game. C’mon The Rose
  22. Just getting ready to hit the road to Costa del Stranraer. A third consecutive Saturday of different weather for a game, and certainly my preference. It was a good performance and result last Saturday in very difficult conditions. Our SPFL record against Stranraer is an unbeaten one , long may that continue. It’s a long day out and a longer way back if empty handed.. C’mon The Rose
  23. Top of the League opponents last week, this week we play the team currently 2nd in the League. Wasn’t the best performance away from home last week in Baltic conditions where I thought we never made enough clear cut opportunities. It will be a tough game today in heavy conditions and again we need to score the first goal. At least it will be a warmer watch. C’mon The Rose
  24. Well the layers are on and more in the car. Well done to the Warriors and the volunteers who have cleared the lying snow from the pitch to allow the game to go ahead. Our games against the warriors have not been classics and don’t expect today to be any different. The Rose seem to play better on an artificial surface , so keeping the fingers warm and crossed for today. C’mon The Rose
