Don’t think results are as important the further down the age groups you go.

Spot on, it's not. Although you're looking at elite players for those age groups, ultimately it should be viewed as development football and as long as players are developing positively then results simply don't matter in my opinion.

It would be great to see some kind of crossover tournament between the MLS and Scottish Premiership, as I get the impression that there are still a number of people who think of the American league in similar dismissive terms to how the English press like to refer to Scottish football ("pub league, innit").

This is quite possibly due to the exposure of it over here though. I searched for Sportscene type highlights show for the MLS a couple of years back and it didn't exist, so if you want to fallow it over here then it's hard to do, so people's ignorance to the standard is not altered from their own perception

You are thinking of Jim McInally. Jim McIntyre lives central Scotland and if he was to get the job I'd be very happy with it, was doing a very good job at Cove part-time before they sacked them so Sheerin could get his son in law back as manager.

He lives in Dunblane I believe. He's known for popping into Forthbank every now and again to watch games so obviously knows a good number of League 1 & 2 players.

  4. As an outsider, I think McInally is probably the best option but I do wonder if he has the desire to go to a club struggling, bit of turmoil in it’s future, lacking in money, whilst travelling from Broughty Ferry, it would he rather just bide his time and keep his fingers crossed that he’s a shout for a job like Forfar IF that was to come up.

Aitken is a cracking shout, and someone I hoped would take the Stirling job when KR was sacked/walked. Although I’m obviously delighted with Young, I didn’t think he was a realistic appointment, however in Aitken I saw someone who had done well with tight budgets, built winning sides and with the exception of maybe a season at Dumbarton, did really well. Since then he has also failed at EK but I do think he is deserving of another chance and this might be a good route back in for him.

Danny Jardine officially signs until January.

Jardine was a cracking player at Stirling. Looked like he could play at a higher level.

Sounds like it is a gamble worth taking if he can get back to the player he was before his injury. But it does sound as if he isn't there yet.

Just noticed this, he certainly was and was someone that most of us thought would kick on and maybe get another Full Time gig somewhere, but after going to Uni he's obviously content with Part Time football. If he can get back from his ACL injury and hit the form he had at Forthbank then you've got a good, creative player on your hands. His Dad is a top bloke as well and will no doubt be in and about the supporters in The Wee Bar before and after games.

Hope it works out for him with you

Was just saying that at the game yesterday. When FB is busy like that, it's a terrific place to watch football. An example of a modern(ish) ground done well.

Totally agree, best “wee ground” in the country imho.

Our home support was poorer than I thought it was going to be yesterday. We really should have filled the home stand for such a big game (for us anyway), but we had just over 700 which was well down on what I expected. Could have been a number of factors. eg being all ticket, near the end of the month, etc, but I was disappointed with our home crowd yesterday.

Again, would have to agree with you Stewarty, I thought we’d have had more in than that and thought the home end would have been close to a sell out, obviously not.

Just watched back the highlights, and as I thought it’s not in the corner, or even near it.  He could have got to it - but the one thing I will say is that he was unsighted by his own defenders

Interesting, must have been the side on angle that I had of it, I stand corrected however stand by the fact that Currie also kept us in the game and has been a big player for us for a couple of years now.

On what I've seen. I think Falkirk are the best team in fhe league.

Would have to agree with this

You might be in a minority but it isn't one.

Jack leitch has been awful this season and pretty much anyone has been better in his role.

I worried before the season that his defensive shortcomings might be a liability in a higher league and sadly its proved to be the case.

The second Hamilton  goal came from a very similar position and situation.

The other part is that he hasn't managed much in an attacking sense to make up for it.

Glad to read I am not alone in my views mate. He hasn’t managed much in the attacking sense either, you’re spot on. He often over plays and to use the Sky Sports saying, over cooks it. League 2 is looking to be his level but I really hope he can get back to basics and prove me wrong.

Have to agree. Banner was dreadful today as well. I suspect we might see Murray Miller force his way into that midfield unit over the next few weeks.

Would agree with this also. The most improved player over the last few years but looked way off it and out his depth today, but we can let him off because he’s normally a steady Eddie for me.

    Honest report 👍

Thank you. I like to think I’m fair and ultimately a fan of football first and foremost.

Lastly get it up the Albion no 4 whoever he is, giving it the big one with half an hour to go and ended up making a right fanny of himself at the end.

What actually happened here?? Way we saw it from the other end was that lads weren’t giving the ball back, then chucked it away before going to take the throw in, turned round and couple of stewards were over along with the Ref?? No idea why!

Is it just me or was the Binos keeper useless for our first?  Looked like he should have saved it to me but was completely flat footed.

Na, it’s a lovely strike from the boy, cushioned into the corner. Having been there myself, you’re simply not getting it. That goes down in the “nice goal” category for me but it was more frustrating that nobody closed it down.

Talking of Currie, I thought we had him to thank for going in level at Half Time because had he not pulled off a couple of good saves then it could easily have been 2 or 3 to Falkirk.

Where we are in life, we just have to be competitive with the full time and more established teams and I think we were, especially in the Second Half and between Morrison (I think it was but might be wrong) screwing a guilt edge chance wide early in the Second Half and the goal, I honestly think we nullified Falkirk and could have stole 1 ourselves, but sadly we never.

The second goal was a catalogue of errors, from Banner’s original pass. What Leitch was up too, only he’ll know but he has been hugely disappointing for me this season and I think Josh Cooper has become the better option in that role. Might be in a minority of 1 on that but just saying what I honestly think.

I thought we battled and we huffed and puffed but very often we over ran the ball or just couldn’t get through. Falkirk on the other hand weren’t great but they did look dangerous and created a number of chances that they squandered. Totally based on todays performance, I thought they lacked a good lower league goal scorer to stick the chances away.

Great to see Forthbank almost full but painful to lose a point in the manner we did but we’ve just got to keep plugging away and I’m sure more points will come.

Absolutely shambolic refereeing performance, honking for both teams but how do these guys get to where they are in Refereeing??
