  1. Someone at the SFA told BBC Sportsound there will be 4. 2 in each window and they were also confident that 1 will be at home and the other will be away in both windows
  2. Morning all, after a wee bit of guidance or advice if possible and thought there was no better place to come. Have never really had a taste for whiskey however that changed over the summer when I had a couple of drams of Talisker with the old man over the summer. On the Scotland supporters bus on the way to Norway the other night, a couple of hipflasks were passed around, couple I like, others no so, so I'm now intrigued to go out and discover more. So, if possible, just looking for a bit of advice on the best way to discover what you like? Is it a case of, over time, just trying what you see in pubs?? Or buying miniatures from distillers and going through them. I'm guessing so, but thought I would ask the question to see what came up.
  3. That really is quite something. As neither a Unionist or Catholic, she'll state that I could never understand her position on the matter because I have never faced it......but what I can say for certain is that sharing these views, in Scotland, will get her nowhere. It's not an agenda from "people like me" that will stop her, but it's the people she is trying to play up too that will not support her, they're more inclined to turn around and say "rocket" rather than "she'll get my backing".
  4. I think it's all been said above, however I can't see McGinn getting into 1st or 2nd place, purely when you consider the ranking of teams we are likely to face, but I bet you he'll give it a right good go. I like McGinn, he's a smashing player who gives everything for Scotland so would actually love for him to do it, but i'm sure those who were around when Dalgleish was banging them in, said the same about him.
  5. Stunned at this as he is normally Mr. Reliable and I would say this sounds out of character. He did loose a bit of form in his first season with us and went through a sticky spell, but he’s a very very good Goalkeeper for this level imho and would put it down to an off day.
  6. The White Buffalo - Ballad Of A Deadman
  7. My mistake, my son told a few years ago that he ran a pub that started helping a foodbank in Aberfoyle, he must have read the article wrong so my mistake.
  8. To be fair on him, I know of a Glasgow based player that played for you a few season ago, who thought he could make the travelling work and it would be ok. Put plans in place to juggle his work and his football, even trained with a local side one night etc etc. However the harsh reality of doing it was different to what he thought it was going to be and 5 or so months later he was gone as it simply took it's toll on him and all aspects of his life. It worked for Gavin Price obviously (who still lives around Stirling way I believe) but that doesn't mean it works for everyone. Smith may have just been the same as the player I know. Maybe he thought the travelling wasn't an issue at first and that he could make it work, only to find out he couldn't. I've no idea what he does away from football but maybe the changes he made to his life, again, just didn't work. I suppose we will never know.
  9. Cooper is definitely free from suspension, and he must start for me. He’s been our best creative Midfielder the last month or so, there’s maybe an argument to say he’s been our best player. No point trying to guess lineups, but for me personally, Cooper comes in, in front of Leitch for me at the moment. How did Murray Miller look? Can’t say I have seen enough of him either way.
  10. The last minute equaliser at Forthbank 5 or 6 weeks ago was a sucker punch for the lads, there have been a few this season, but the one against Kelty seems to be the punch that we just can't get over and dented our confidence the most. Might be harsh on the players, playing Full Time teams and a local derby will always be tough, but the performances over the past 3 or 4 games is way below the standards that these lads have set. Darren Young said that there was a good 40-45 minute discussion between the players and Coaching staff at the end of the Hamilton game, it's the first time I have heard Darren saying that, so hopefully it irons out any issues that are maybe bumbling away and resets things slightly. The squad has had a good number of injuries to deal with and as always happens, form will always go up and down but it's disappointing after the way we started the season.
  11. Maybe not on the same trajectory as Wilson, but Kai Fotheringham at Dundee United is developing away just nicely. More of a wife Forward than a central one but he definitely looked the part at us last season and looks above the Championship with Dundee United I believe. My only surprise is he hasn't had an Under 21's cap already
  12. Frank Turner - I Am Disappeared
  13. IF, he was offered the job then he would have been a mug to accept it. Yes, tradition and all that stuff, Clyde would be a step up for him but in reality, why would you leave a club on the up, looking to build a new stadium, who have the money to attract a good calibre of player to a bunch of nomad's who have been on the slide for years, have little to no money and a dwindling support?

  15. Tide Lines matinee show at The Queens Hall in Edinburgh Wow, every time I see this band, I’m just blown away. I’ve used this section of P&B for years and I can’t believe how little chat there is about Tidelines because I think they’re simply fantastic. This tour took the band to smaller venues, to accompany the stripped back sounds of the songs from their 3 albums. At times, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up, as the powerful and distinct voice of Robert Robertson filled the hall. The songs were stripped back for fans to hear the finer ‘elements’ of them and to enjoy them in a calmer environment and boy how it worked. Highlights for me were Strangers, The Last Song and Hardly Surprising, honestly unbelievable and if you are not familiar with their work, check them out on Spotify or wherever you get your music from. Going to a matinee concert was a first for me, I actually like the experience and it’s something other bands should consider doing.
  16. How have they passed me by?? Listened to the 5 popular songs on Spotify, right up my street. Thanks for posting this @Hamish's Passenger
  17. I would be absolutely stunned if he did. If he left to go Full Time then fair enough, but surely as a manager, Stirling to Alloa would be something of a sidewards step?? Young’s never struck me as a controversial type guy so I don’t see him being interested, despite being held in high regard by the Alloa fans.
