  1. I think it's fair to say Albion fans have mixed feelings about the departure of Doris. I don't think we got the best out of him and I'm not sure if it was down to his fitness level or the way we played (shite). It was certainly frustrating watching him fall over quite a lot.

I think that's fair to say actually. I think at times, it was probably a mix of both these things Headthebaw. Wish the guy luck though, at least he always tried and never hid.

  2. He'd need to forgive the Albion fans before he'd consider, even if there was an interest. Fans telling him to hang himself properly in relation to his mental health issues after speaking out was poor taste to say the least.

I'm not sure if Airdrie or Cox knows this but The Albion board investigated the event along with Police Scotland and it was found that there was no wrong doing amongst the support.

Listen, something happened that day (I was too far away to hear/see exactly what) and I'm not defending either actions, however, even the most placid of supporter loses it on 'one of those days' and shouts things they regret and I'm sure players are the same.

I'm sure most supporters would welcome Cox to the club, if he signed, and I'd be surprised if he wouldn't sign due to the actions of no more than 5 fans.

  3. Would be incredibly happy with Stevie Dee returning. Let's hope it's true. When he's fit and in a decent team he's one of the best in this league.

I would agree with this, as I have just typed on the Stirling thread, good luck to the lad but I'm not sure he is the same player that left you.

  4. Well dick got his man Doris defo away to Arbroath verbally agreed terms will sign end of the week. Also mcgeachie a target for Arbroath .

Don't know the guy at all ,the stats don't lie and why have we been losing players all season they all can't be wrong, just totall bad man management from mclaren and as I have said before players speak hence the question who would want to come to us going on mclarens past issue with players.

You must be/know him RTB. For the past 2 seasons you have continually referred to him, know things that he has done that wasn't in the public domain (eg: out injured due to falling off a step in a Perth pub last season), dressing room issues that are again, not known publically and everything that you have mentioned has also come to fruition, which again shows you have some inside info.

If you say Doris has verbally agreed to join Arbroath then I don't doubt it. I wish him well for the future, I think Doris has been ok this season, I think had he of played in a better system he would have been a more effective player, but I can understand why certain supporters found him frustrating. I'm lead to believe he is one of the clubs highest earners so I think he can be replaced and fingers crossed he is replaced by a player that fits into McLaren's "system" better.....only time will tell though. Players come and players go.

I'm surprised he has chosen to go back to Arbroath. No disrespect to them, they've had a bad season but in general terms they are a good lower league outfit, but it's something of a side wards step, but good luck to the lad I hope things work out in the long run, at least he is joining a club that think highly of him but I'm not totally convinced he is the same player that left them 4 years ago.

  5. By all accounts Craig Molloy is heading to Stirling. He's been a great servant to Brechin and would be an excellent signing in league 2.

He's obviously has history with the club, would be a positive signing, at this level, if true. How old is Molloy now......early 30's??

I have been told that comrie and buist not been offered deals for next season

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was true. Comrie has been a massive disappointment this season. He should have cemented his place in Midfield but instead has regressed instead. There's a good player there, but who knows where it's gone.

The 2 of them could be good players for someone.

  6. I'm surprised to read that no other manager followed that up WhoAmI but I'm not surprised to hear that McLaren was one of those who did. I genuinely think McLaren's one of life's good guys and he is very honest, warm and approachable, that's never been up for discussion.......his ability to manage a football team however has been.

  7. How did big Buisty perform this season? It was great to see him back playing but I was always a bit worried about how he'd handle it all.

I think he's played 5 games if you're lucky mate. For what it's worth, he looked to be over his injury problems and looked great at the back, just what the team needed and he was doing what Buist does best.

However, he lasted about 20 minutes against East Fife, was arguably at fault for first 2 goals and was subbed, it was later reported that he had picked up another injury and his season looked to be over, which is a pity in truth. I'd be lying if I said I knew whether he has been offered another deal or not.

  8. Confirmed players for the 2016/17 season are:

    Chris Smith

    Ross McMillan

    Scott Davidson

    Moses Olanrewaju

    Darren Smith

Ross Forsyth has indicated in the local press that he will also remain a Player/Coach for next season but there has been no confirmation via the club as yet.

Rumours are that Phil Johnston and various others are away. Johnston has been linked with a move to Clyde (on here), along with Steven Doris who has also been tipped for a return to Arbroath. I can't see Barry Ferguson signing either personally, however stranger things have happened.

Fans are waiting to see who else will re-sign but I suspect that'll probably be about it. No doubt 1 or 2 of the current squad will put pen to paper over the next few weeks, Ross Smith, David Verlaque & Ross McGeachie would be my preference but it would be totally understandable for the latter 2 not to.

With Stuart McLaren losing the faith of the majority of supporters, it must be last chance saloon for the manager to get things right. With a clear out on the horizon, it could be an interesting few months at Forthbank.

  9. I'm sure Dick will be trying to get guys signed up early, with the League Cup starting on the 16th of July and a squad of 16 or so needed for then and no trialists allowed.

I didn't actually realise this was the case. I though special dispensation would have been put in place due to the early kick off this year. Expect plenty transfer activity early doors this year then.

  10. On field ability, Lamont would improve any team at this level and in truth, could comfortably play above it. However, something has happened, what....who knows. Until we know then you have to suspect that his (and Robertson's) conduct off the field has been pretty severe for McLaren to instantly release 2 of his best players and his Vice Captain.
