  1. Now that Leitch has come in and will likely fill that attacking midfield/creative role, should we be against moving King to LB/LWB if he's staying for the remainder of the season? Especially since Ray Grant is nearing a start (hopefully his first tomorrow) who can shuffle across the midfield to fill in/help out. I think he could fill that slot in a new look back 5 of: Cuddihy/Hynes; Hamilton; Howie; Dunachie and King or a four and shift Hamilton to RB.
  2. I've stayed away for a good while but stupidly made the mistake of attending on Saturday. I think I speak for most football fans generally when I say you can stomach losing when the team has tried their heart out. That cannot be said for that absolute monstrosity of a display against Bonnyrigg. Duffyball continues in full effect - despite it not working whilst Rennie was still on the pitch, nevermind when he came off injured. Players happier to flail about and moan at the referee than get their finger out. McLean stood on sidelines hands in pockets absolutely lifeless. No desire, no fight, no ideas. Stevie Wonder could've seen that signing a bunch of players from university/youth teams was never going to work. Who is supposed to be enthused about this available money when Duffy is the one being entrusted to spend it? (I know they won't because why would the Clyde board allow themselves to be questioned by mere supporters) but SURELY questions have to be asked of what Duffy is actually contributing? The only player we've signed so far who looks halfway decent is Logan Dunachie who is going to be hamstrung by having to deal with the likes of Peter Grant & Jon Craig either side of him. Re-signing Neil Parry, Peter Grant & Jon Craig despite every single piece of evidence last season is an absolute shambles. Again, how is anyone supposed to be convinced that this apparent enhanced budget is going to be used to address the glaring issues in this squad in right way on the face of everything we've seen so far? ^ This. Duffy & McLean are only the tip of this iceberg. Thomson and the board need to go for any meaningful change to ever happen at this club. I worry that the only way change would ever be forced at Clyde is if supporters started voting with their wallets, more than just not renewing season tickets. Stop attending and allowing the board to take your money and disregard your opinions. Not something anyone wants to see as it directly impacts the club, but how else is change supposed to be forced at this stage? P.s. creative shouts like "Jurrasic Jim" provided some light entertainment amongst the absolute drech on Saturday. Forever and ever etc etc
  3. Goodwillie is so fucking uninterested it's ridiculous.
  4. Cash saved, Clyde win and a bunch of enraged entitled Bairns. If Carslberg did Saturdays...
  5. Indeed he did, but absolutely rank fucking rotten today. I just don't see it with the boy at all. I've never rated McNiff highly to be honest and for me I don't feel he is suited to this level.
  6. Before I started properly supporting Clyde, a friend and I went up to Dingwall (mind we would've been possibly 15/16 at the time) on the train for the first friendly of his reign. Came away from that knowing it'd end badly. Between him and Ferguson for me, as I wasn't around for the Bombscare Brown saga.
  7. " - Smith is utter pish" McNiff & Petkov are much, much worse IMO. Incredibly frustrating first half from us, dominant the second. Thought Lamont's work rate in particular was brilliant and helped turn the game around but Love & Johnston contributed to that also. Think Johnstone could still be turning Kieran MacDonald inside out the now. Before the game would've bit your hand off for a point, come away slightly gutted not taking all three. Good point, onto another biggie next week!
  8. The Thistle thread from last night & this morning is absolutely glorious. Delicious, delicious tears. DL [emoji173]'s the Clyde.
  9. Believe he is a football/sports lecturer for New College Lanarkshire (new Cumbernauld College).
  10. Been a difficult place for us to go previously but hopefully we can go and impose ourselves with a strong performance again and bring 3 points down the road. Peterhead tend to be a much more physical side so in that aspect, do fear slightly for Johnston that he may take a clattering & feel Smith could deal with those harder tackles a bit better. Obviously DGW needs no more plaudits but I hope Smith's goal last week gives him a bit of confidence and he can kick on and bag plenty more. Changed (& welcome!!) days for the Bully!!!
  11. Is there any actual truth to us signing these two boys we're supposedly waiting on and if so, does anyone know what the delay is? If we don't sign another LB by deadline that's slightly worrying. Finally caught highlights of yesterday's game, looks like another solid battling performance & were unlucky not to take all 3 points. Still would like to see D.L. Smith playing firmly up top with Goodwillie, but hard to argue with Mark Lamont's work rate. Hopefully now we've played arguably the most difficult run of games we could've got, get a couple of points on the board. A wee win next Sat against QoS wouldn't go amiss either!
  12. McNiff by a considerable head and shoulders has been the worst player in the team since we returned for pre-season. Agree we competed decently but should've made subs a helluva lot earlier. Like Danny said post-match, these games are learning curves. As long as we aren't being embarrassed in the next few tough games we have coming up, excited to see what we get with Goodie, Rankin, Norway and Love coming back into the side.
  13. Expecting to scudded by at least 2 or 3, our defence is rotten and Goodwillie is nowhere near fully fit yet.
  14. That defence is an absolute atrocity. What else can Martin McNiff do wrong to make the blinkers fall off Danny Lennon's eyes - he has been dreadful since the first pre-season ball was kicked and continued true to form today. Not convinced by Cuddihy currently, hopefully a wee run for Kieran Duffie in the team. We desperately, desperately need a much higher standars of defending to stay in this league. The first half in particular was great to watch at times, I think with Kris Syyvertsen (sorry if it's spelled wrong Kris...), Goodwillie and Rankin back we'll look much more comfortable. All I've wanted to see is D.L. Smith & Goodie upfront together - hopefully we will be treated to this sooner than later. DLS is wasted at RM.
  15. Looks like any signings we make will be loans then!
  16. Are we even remotely close to signing a striker yet????
  17. I did love you and your diddy supports absolute seethe everytime Goodwillie touched the ball. There was one old boy in particular who was ready to keel over. This Goodwillie stuff is getting beyond boring now. Not every single Clyde fan is happy about us having him - in a footballing sense it's absolutely nonsense business for us. And before anyone starts on me - having a close family member be a victim of the same crime Goodwillie is accused of, no, on a personal level I'm not happy about him being a Clyde player. Does wee Boab the plumber from Perth for example not get pelters & continued scrutiny for past mistakes? Is he exempt because he isn't in the public eye? Or do you all just get absolutely raging stauners every time you can take a punt at Clyde? (Don't answer, it's a rhetorical question) God, I f***ing hate the Kingdom of Fife... well expect Arbroath! You stopped watching Al because your team are absolute keech, I particularly loved Davie Marsh losing the head on a number of occasions, sour that he wasn't wanted by any of the big boys in the league. I thought first half on Saturday we were brilliant, second half we took our foot off the gas but ground out a victory and I feel that's going to be the case in a few games this year. Hopefully we can put in a good performance and get a result - expecting this to be one of harder games this year.
  18. I can only speak from my own experiences, but the few occasions I've had a conversation with Norrie he's always been very open and honest about when things have went wrong - Chapman et al. But his passion for building the club up is obvious and he has worked extremely hard to make sure we've got the caliber of management and playing staff we do today. Above all else, he's making the tough calls previous chairmen have perhaps not had the cajones to make. The Bar58/Arria situation was going to be a lose-lose situation. It seem's to me that the club are trying to do their best to give all supporters something instead of losing Bar58 and "tough tits" basically. I really enjoyed Norrie's statement and am optimistic about our future under his & Danny's stewardship. Viva la Bully Wee!
  19. I thought I was going to fit this category until resisting to shout at Duffie.. [emoji102]. I thought for 70+ minutes we were the better team yesterday, Cogill being moved to LB with McNiff at CB to cover Main and Sammon made sense to me & I thought Niff did a cracking job for the majority of the game covering them. It was great also seeing McStay doing some of the dirty work covering as well as offensively. I think given time him and Cuddihy could link up well down that right flank. Also - can we have Saturday's Kevin Nicoll every week please? Going to miss Saturday as it's my rotational weekend shift - full expecting us to get a decent win. Was in the hospitality yesterday - Danny admitted there's work to be done with Joe Gorman & he's looking for a big unit of a striker.
  20. In a week where Scotland's gone through a "new low" (oh Jim White, you crack me up), depsite a serious of cracking results for our European teams and by all accounts some great games in the League Cup over the past week, the arrogance of the English and the "Premier League iz da best leegue in da wurld m8" brigade, is it time to ask ourselves if a deal with Sky is worth the lack of respect our football gets? Could Scottish football be sustained through our own "Network"? For talking sake, a membership at a rate of £9.99 per month, which airs each & every game in Scottish professional football, from League 2 all the way to the Premiership. And every single season ticket holder of each club would receive a discount at £4.99 per month for their support each season, whilst helping fund our beautiful game. Thoughts? Obviously, not a lot of logistical thought has gone into it. It's a total spitball idea, but something that's been running through my head seeing Paul, the racist plumber from Barnsley telling me his nan with a fake hip could be a superstar in our leagues. And whilst we're at it, GET THE COLTS SO FAR TO F**K.
  21. I have a hospitality ticket so if I get a chance I'll bring it up. Starting to believe the rumours may be true, so I hold my hands up for criticism of previous posters questioning it! On tomorrow, I'm really just hoping we don't get bodied and give account of ourselves with a respectable scoreline. I'd start with a team of: Currie Cuddihy; Rumsby; Nicol; Cogill; McNiff; Love; Rankin; Grant; Lamont; Goodwillie. Means we can keep a solid shape at the back, when we're in possession/attacking Love push forward to support Goodie; Cuddihy forward into space left by Love and can have a midfield and back 4 whilst maintaining a shape. Also means we can have legs in Boyle, McStay and Ferns off the bench if we do hold out and can have an impact later in the game. *I know McStay being left out will be scoffed at, but he hasn't been brilliant so far (from reports I've heard) so I feel he'd have more impact as a set of fresh legs to change it up later on. I assume since we're assuming Hopkirk is gone, we'll be looking at a loan striker?
