  1. Few folk mentioning '95 as a missed opportunity, very much agree, could have won it but wasn't to be. I would add the playoff against Hibs in to the missed opportunity category, had them on the ropes at Broadwood and if the penalty had gone in think we would have gone up. The Queens Park playoff defeat would have been a missed opportnity if we hadnt up the following season.
  2. Was thinking this earlier, half decent strikers with a bit of stregnth do well against us generally, the teams we win against regularly tend not to have players like this with Raith being the prime example. Something to work on for next season. As for the playoffs a lot will depend on who is back from injury, agree with @Diamonds_Are_Foreverthat ATS is not the answer, withour Ballantyne and arguably McCabe we wont make it, injuries now hitting us quite hard but rather have that now than earlier in the season. Great to secure 4th.
  3. I'm much the same as I didnt think many of them would cope that well with the step up to the Championship. On the basis you couldnt sign a whole new team I would say Rae, Ballantyne, Megwa if we could sign him, Hancock, Telfer, McStravick, maybe Frizzel.
  4. Hancock's goal was better than it looked at the time, really nice header. How the Morton fellow didn't get sent off for that incident in the box is beyond me.
  5. Thanks, sent him off with a tenner and bus card so good to know he can get in, hope Stirling get the win.
  6. McStavick and McCabe's in juries from the cup final must be reasonaby serious to keep them out, injuries defintly starting to mount up but hopefully still enough in the team to get a result today, draw wouldn't be the end of the world for us.
  7. It's testament to how well he's done but I cant think of one call on here to sack the manager this season. Thinking about the teams that have replaced their manager this season (Arbroath, Ayr, QP, Inverness) you have to wonder how much difference it's made. Ayr and QP probably marginally better but Arbroath and Inverness probably where they would have been if they hadn't changed manager.
  8. Does anyone know if you can pay at the gate for this, my sons travelling through but not sure if he needs a ticket bought before hand? thanks.
  9. Not the worst results today in terms of staying up, Inverness only have 5 left and we're seven ahead so a win on Tuesday should be enough. 4th looking less likely with a tough run of fixtures after Arbroath but with Dunfermline and Morton to play it's in our own hands. With the keeper i think we could have ended up with worse but we miss Rae not just for his goalkeeping but also his distribution. For next season we need a backup keeper so that there is someone to step in that knows the way we play and is familiar with the players around him.
  10. Looking at the fixtures the next two games are vital, 4 points from Arbroath and Morton should be enough to keep us above 9th, our run of fixtures after that is quite tough so wouldn't want to be heading into that off the back of a run of defeats.
  11. Not really at it tonight, injuries catching up with us and thought we really felt Rae being absent tonight, we dont play it out from the back nearly as effectively without him in goals. Not panicking about league position as I think we'll be fine but would be good to get a win on Tuesday keep a bit between us and Inverness, especially if they dont win tomorow.
  12. Our team's looking a bit threadbare o the injury front too so dont panic yet...
  13. McStravick and McCabe both missing tonight, team looks a bit bare bones with OConnor starting, would be happy with a draw and get some players back for Tuesday.
  14. If we win Friday I think we're safe, a draw probably enough too. The defeats to Ayr and Morton in te last quarter looked like potentially starting a slide down the table so good to avoid that happening again. No reason why we cant go after 4th now, especially if we can get 6/7 points out of the next 3 games.
  15. Seen quite a few teams announcing players signing new deals, would be great to get some players signed up given we can be fairly confident we'll be in this league next season, especially: McCabe Fordyce Telfer Rae Hancock Ballantyne Frizzel Todorov Granted these players might be considering better offers elsewhere or waiting to see what is available to them when the season is finished and McCabe in particular will be on quite a few teams radar but we've had a good season financially and would be good to get some of these players signed up.
  16. Thought the new keeper did pretty well, one cracking save and everything else handled pretty safely, wonder if we'll sign him up as back up for Rae next season? I liked the Todorov / McStravick combination up front, wouldn't mind seeing that again. Wasn't too sure about Todorov start fo the season but would keep him now, with another striker brought in to play alongside.
  17. Didnt realise how much ALex Williams life went off the rails after all of that.
  18. Depending how the injuries play our we could be down to the bare bones although Megwa will be back which is good. Hard to call really, we've struggled against Ayr but on a decent run, would be happy enough with a draw.
  19. If he signed a new deal and left at Christmas I'd take that, it would mean we would get some compensation for him leaving and hopefully he would leave a team wel set up to compete for the rest of next season.
  20. Played well today, McStravicks goal was really well taken. As others have said this is the best couple of seasons we've had for 20+ years so enjoying it while it lasts, McCabe looks on the way to being a top manager so if we got another season of him I would be happy with that. TNS were ok but no better than we play in the Scottish Championship. I know a lot of people have questioned this competition but I still think it has value, best chance a lot of fans have of seeing a cup win.
  21. Really enjoyed that, thought we played well especially with players out and injuries during the game. McStravicks goal was really well taken and the defending in the last 20 minutes excelent. Young keeper did his job. As others have said this is the best couple of years we've had in the last 20+, would love to get McCabe signed up for another year but the better he does the quicker he'll be away so enjoying it while we can. Hope the injuries to McCabe and cStravick aren't anything serious. ANother great day out all in all.
  22. We'll try our best, any thoughts on TNS after your game with them, unbeaten this season in their league...
  23. Wonder what kind of crowd there will be, given the push on social media all week to sell tickets i'm guessing fairly low, always seemed a bit optomistic to open 3 stands...
