Even if purrington does take a cb slot we are still badly short there Jack Baldwin being the only “senior” centre half I like Dylan smith but he should only be 4th choice at this moment in time , was impressed with Connell Ewan but again he should only be 5th choice If purrington is a cb then we need 2 more signings there , if he’s not then we need 3 , also bare in mind we need right back cover too

I’m hoping we sign another 1 or 2 before then and they play vs clach as they probably won’t have “gelled” in time to be in the league cup squad

Cross was pinpoint from reid too , more of that this season will be nice! Henderson also looked capable of good consistent deliveries

Pretty routine friendly , 3 good finishes from wright, the pass for purrington and cross from reid were just quality for the first goal. the 2nd half wasn’t so great but that can be expected with new players and young players just trying to bed in. My takes from the game are sheaf is a big unit , turner looked tidy on the ball , Reid and Henderson had great deliveries, Mackinnon and Ewan look decent

It doesn’t really matter how much we spend if Roy is writing it off , what does matter is getting a plan in place to be able to cut our cloth when the time comes of Roy no longer funding the club, for all we know there may be something in place already. Its unlikely that someone who’s been involved with the club and area for so long would not have a thought for the clubs longer term future

No mention of fee or contract length, maybe they just took a 6 figure fee that secured both players?

If he can stay fit brophy is well worth a low 6 figure fee, would be disappointed if we spend that much on Henderson though as he’s not proven anything yet it’s just paying for potential. what fans of other clubs might not be aware of is the fact we do actually have sellable assets already in the building, Dhanda clearly , Loturi has been called into the Canada squad whilst at the club and is still young, Harmon has been brilliant and again very young so would fetch a fee, purrington would also command a fee from efl clubs!

County really were silly in letting McKay go , caley really ought to push the boat out to keep him , McKay and Lafferty if they can manage to get/keep both would surely be a very good partnership in the championship also what is Jay Henderson like not seen much of him

Wouldn’t want to see Randall at cb , with the formations you have mentioned I just don’t know where you can fit Murray , brophy or Samuel in as I wouldn’t say they are particularly suited to playing wide

We shouldn’t be shopping in a market for players that aren’t good enough for st mirren , we should be after the same level of players , low 6 figures would be a lot of money for Henderson imo

3 seems a bit light to me was hoping for 2 cbs , rb, 2 wingers , striker maybe purrington is now a cb and hiwula appears to be back in the fold , both Edwards need replaced I’d say and quality wise brophy needs replaced up top , maybe Akio is being viewed as a player to come back into the fold albeit probably only the bench

Really happy with this , played his part in the run in and especially the playoff final , still don’t think we’ve seen his best yet after injury either!

Things starting to come together, Macleman, Ross (GK) , Munro (GK) have all signed one year extensions, although I suspect the former 2 players will be loaned out with Munro being the back up GK
