That was the Reserve League, and it was chronic: not good enough.
Not convinced the Lowland League will be serving up a higher standard.

OF colts was a terrible idea. This ballsack tickling by the Lowland League has just given them a semi. Now the SPFL are in their sights for a ramming. Good work LL!

Have Broughty got cover now at the ground?

I actually misread the post I originally was responding to - as if it was a formality for HFL side rather than a challenger, well aware of BOD's strength onfield and have been to Spain Park recently.

Do Banks o' Dee have much to go to meet HFL standard? Would think they'd maul the Fort onfield.

There's a haphazard feel about this cup tournament. They need to get the format sorted and stick to it if it's to be taken seriously. In all fairness it hasn't had a proper run through yet in the new pyramid era.
Last season's was the biggest senior non league cup entry in about 150 years (well since the 1890s or something) - give it time ffs.

They are not there on merit at all. When the lowland league was formed they cobbled together a load of shite to bulk up the old EoS sides that joined it. No attempt was made to bring in sides like Linlithgow, Bo’ness etc instead they got newly formed glorified boys clubs like Cumbernauld colts, edusport academy, bsc Glasgow and parachuted them straight in at tier 5.
The junior clubs were told they'd have to start at bottom of juniors if they ever returned (potentially a 4 league demotion!) so there was too much to iron out at the time.

Living halfway along the A83 as I do, I can add that it's just over 3 hrs from Glasgow city centre to Campbeltown without stops - 2hrs to Lochgilphead and another 1h10m to Campbeltown.

Finnart and BSC will be playing at Spingburn until their home grounds pass the criteria
There was a wee bit of confusion about these clubs playing at Petershill Park but Finnart have this on their Twitter:

They should get in touch with Caley Braves for some name ideas, there were some crackers.

The drunken ghost of John Sessions, soon to haunt every LL ground in the land.

We are called Pollock so often, wonder how often Campbeltown Pupils will get the FP treatment?

On their home tv stations watched by a few staunch / plastic types in boozers stateside.

One of the best academies in europe started a B team, along with others. Presumably this idea was generated by Dutch people, from the Netherlands, who are responsible for the success of youth development in their country.
But instead of visiting those academies to learn best practice, speak to experts, and test ideas here in a pilot project, we'd save a lot of time and energy by following the advice of a Dutch football supporter on pie + bovril who says it's bad.
One of the most patronising posts on this forum.

What happened to Kilbride Thistle? They were one of the most 'out there' candidates.

If anyone was in any doubt as to who the fans are that think this is a good idea I would direct them to listen to tonight's clyde super scoreboard
I have a broken bottle to jam my foot into before i do that.

Exactly what effect does the introduction of B teams have on the integrity of the pyramid system?
They should start at bottom, not halfway up.

And can we ban this Colt word. Maybe subbing the O and L for some letters less offensive... I'll have a U and an N please Carol.

Bringing B clubs into the Professional Game Board level of the pyramid I would say wasn't in the LL's gift, from a moral point of view. It should have been discussed as a wider issue by the SFA's membership. I know that's apples and oranges but it's the only organisation they're all a part of. This 'experiment' will lead to the OF wanting into the SPFL and it's highly likely to succeed now they have managed to isolate then break the weakest link in the chain. The LL clubs not having any regard for the impact this will have is abhorrent.

Players get better playing against better players than them. If the OF colts are all of a sudden full of amazing future talent - as opposed to a few gems in among a lot of mediocrity as now, they'll be cutting their teeth at a higher level.
