Every Away game so far we have sat in far too deep so expecting us to score as well was a tall order considering our midfield never crossed the half way line. Home games were not much better.

However on Sat Goody changed to a 4-3-3 for the first time and hey presto we have guys charging forward in numbers. Although I would try the same again I doubt Goody will. As long as he doesn't sit back as usual then we have a chance to score and get something from the game.

Goodwin started with 4 3 3 however St Johnstone were over runing us. Goodwin then changed it to 4 2 3 1 which changed the game in our favour.  Smart move by Goodwin.

Lot of setbacks in matches for Saints this season and in situations like today where the team had been playing well. First time really that they've completely wilted though. Atrocious second half.

Some decent footballers at the club but the moment, we aren't a good team.

Worst St Johnstone team I have seen in a long time. Hamilton look worse but defend better. Going to be a tough season for you going by today. Not that St Mirren will light the heather on fire .

We have a decent balance to the team, we are set up pretty rigid to sit in and strike teams on the counter.

Our goalkeeper is just incredible. Our full backs seem good enough defensively but don't offer half as much going forward. Centre halves have been great at home, gave away some crappy goals away from home though.

Flynn and Foley are good at what they do in the middle of the park. Do a lot of dirty work.

Andreu is a funny player. Seems capable of producing match winning moments. Our wingers are not chipping in with enough goals although Magennis seems to be our biggest goal threat and best outfield player.

Our strikers seem to have zero confidence all at the same time. It's hard for guys from lower leagues in England to come up here, I reckon most of them under estimate the league.

It's another really intriguing match. StJohnstone have been scoring goals, pulled off some decent come backs, looking at your attacking options it gives me the fear a wee bit. Can't see the Perth Saints finishing in the bottom 2 this season, even if we win today. Players have been there and done it in this league and the manager doesn't turn shit over a summer.

I'm not confident are any Saints fans ?  Goodwin really needs bring S McGinn back into the team.

I share something in common with Ruud Gullit, St Mirren Park is where I witnessed the worst racism I've come across in Scottish football. The targeting and scalding of Jason Scotland with hot bovril in 2005 was deplorable.

At the time I didn't consider it racially motivated until there was a thread started on Black and White Army asking why a black player that had never played against St Mirren before was booed from the first whistle and then violently targeted.

Hopefully see no repeat tomorrow if Drey Wright is involved.

ST JOHNSTONE are investigating claims that Celtic players were subjected to "racist noises" during the Clydesdale Bank Premier League match at McDiarmid Park on Saturday.

This is why I shouldn't post until match days.

It's all true though your sitting bottom so everyone is above you. Lies - St Mirren beat Aberdeen. Personally dont think St Johnstone are as bad as your league position suggests. Yes both clubs have problems you in defence us up front. Saturday will be a nervous affair for both clubs. Fingers crossed Saints 1877 fans get the bragging rights.

Just because they support the same team as you doesn’t mean they can’t express their feelings towards your horrific posts.

True. Horrific? Ok can be an ass we can all be maybe me more than average.  The one drum I have been beaten with passion is how Saints accounts look when they come out. Unfortunately there are some who will hear no wrong regarding St Mirren. I get that which is fine . Ì have my own point of view on this. Are you a loud to have a point of view even if it maybe wrong . It is the love of my club that I stand up for. Yes I may be proved wrong. Will admit it if the case. Dont be sneaky debate it.  RossC93 wont debate fine but why red dots even in positive Saints posts. Time for Div to check the IP address from my side.

They did well to get into this round no disgrace losing  4 - 1

RossC93 must have a huge bumble bee in his bunnet. Giving me red squares at every post. I dont get the anger in a fellow St Mirren supporter . Who cares if RossC93 is getting a big turn on carry on. Quite a few Saints fans surprise me can turn on their own worse than old firm fans do. Enjoy hiding behind your keyboard coward.

Ironic that Sunderland fires a manager with a better record then Ole at MU emoji23.png

Basket case of a club has been for years. More managers in the last ten years than years. Diffrent owners yet another take over in the pipeline.  Shame as it has potential for its size.  Look how long its taken Leeds to try and get back a club with European pedigree.

  9. This is a very important game for both Saints . Yes its early season but this game could be a marker for drifting out the pack in the coming weeks. St Johnstone are too good for that. Personal opinion. My own team dont look too bad either. Our problem is attacking while it's poor  our attacking stats are up last game it's still a worry . Not a game going on my coupon.

    Aye OK.

Like most managers in the English League One wouldn't want a squad of internationalists. Honestly the apologists are ridiculous. Jack Ross was way oit his depth at a club that was far too big for him. His signings were dreadful and his tactical approach to matches was either naive or stupidly poor. He didn't know how to get the best out of McGeady and kept chopping and changing his midfield. He spent seven figures on a striker that can't score and let a striker that could have got him promotion leave. And he managed to kill the enthusiasm of a resurgent support desperate for a fresh start under a new owner.

Ross was a dreadful Sunderland manager who will never get another job in England. It would be better if you just admitted you were wrong.

Stuart D you never left ? Cant say anything of Ross and Sunderland.  Clearly the man has talent my personal view of course as is yours of course.

Don't quite agree. I think promotion came too soon for Jack. He then had to think about how to keep us up in the Premiership. I think he would have done that, but it would have been a struggle, and finishing 11th and surviving in a play off wasn't going to make him any hotter with english team.

Plenty of people were saying don't touch with a bargepole about Sunderland which is why Jack got a chance which might never have came again. I think he did 100% the right thing. I'm sure he learned a great deal and made a whole load of useful contacts for his next gig.

For us not such a great thing. Stubbs was a disaster and OK put a bit fignt in the team but not much subtlty and never really build much for this season.

It is interesting the number of knockback Sunderland got before settling for Jack. I wonder how many they will get now.

I'm actually disappointed we let Oran go for me it was a huge mistake.  What is done is done back Goodwin 100%.

Success in English Football is an all or nothing. Ross did ok, but ok is not good enough. Came withiin 90 minutes of going up last season. And sitting in play places now. Sunderland clearly have big expectations.

The real measure of Ross's success or otherwise will be by comparison with his successor. If who ever takes his place leads them up, then Ross will be seen as a failure if not then Ross will be seen as having done a decent job and sacked unluckily. Not that he'll be caring as he laughs all the way to the bank.

Next stop for Jack. Dundee. Almost certain.

Not far wrong in my opinion. One thing he will be is a success might take one or two moves the man has a good career ahead of him. If he had only stayed one more season with us . I'm sure career wise he would admit the same. He has a bucket full of cash and a learning curve. Ross will be back.
