  1. bugger all! My lassie was to take me for a slap up meal but she messaged me three days before to say she caught the covid virus and has to isolate for a week
  2. I'm 80 years auld the day and this is how one of my granddaughters sees me. Course he could be an ancestor
  3. Me? an anti-royalist! Whit gave ye that idea? eight days and I'll be 80 years auld
  4. I've never heard these names for left handers. My mum called me kippy handed but she was frae Glesga
  5. I'm left handed and I used tae get a skelp on the lug frae my teacher in primary school (late 40's/early 50's) for trying tae write with my left hand . My mum used tae say that I was kippy handed.
  6. I posted on it yesterday and someone replied. I tried to view it today but it said that I don't have permission to view it. Is it a masonic thing?
  7. I'm only active politically if there is an election due. I usually visit every day to read the covid-19 thread but as I know nothing regarding the virus I dinnae contribute Gracias, I'm 78 years auld. I dinnae post because I've nothing tae say but I'll mibbe mosey over tae the politics thread tae have a nose Danke, I'm as deaf as a dodo so whose that knocking on my door winnae work.
  8. I'm overwhelmed with titbits (remember that mag) but I post enough comments on the Windsors and Trident elsewhere. For example someone said that Phil the Greek did his bit in WW2 in fighting off the fascists. And someone else said that a picture is worth a thousand words. That is my birthday
  9. But surely the 'Monarchy' is a part of 'real life'. They can flaunt the rules to suit themselves while (most of) the rest of us try to abide by them. And that doesn't concern you?
  10. You should have added that his son and daughter-in-law at the beginning of last December took a train (at taxpayers expense) and travelled from London to Edinburgh against the advice of the SG then travelled to Wales against the advice of the Welsh Government. I'm still here so I didnae catch fire. I take it you accept that Charlie boy can flaunt the rules whenever he wants?
  11. How the fcuk can I get out more when we're in the middle of a pandemic? Do you never think of Trident and the harm it could possibly do to your family? Are you quite content for Trident to be based in Scottish waters. Remember none of us were asked if we wanted it at Faslane but we've got it. That's British democracy for you. Whit's your beef? pot and kettle springs tae mind Whit?
  12. and dinnae forget Labour and the LibDems. All of them support Trident being based in Scottish waters. I'm looking beyond my current needs. I've got grandkids and I want them to grow up in a nuclear-free environment. Getting rid of Trident and Hunterston would be a guid start. And you'll only get that by voting for independence!
  13. I'm 78 years auld and got my first AstraZeneca jag two days ago. I can categorically state that I've never been to a professional football match in my entire life. I watch football on the telly. My favourite was last year (and occasionally now) German Bundesliga on BT Sport. but I enjoy watching Championship fitba on BBC Scotland on a Friday night.
  14. But what is the point of sentencing someone to 10 years imprisonment when everybody kens the criminal will no do that? But that's no what he was sentenced to.
  15. That is a superb gesture It certainly is The whole effing system is wrong.. if the judge sentences you to 10 years in jail then you should do 10 years. A few years ago a judge sentenced a guy to 10 years for a crime which the judge said was horrific. He should have continued and say but if you keep your nose clean you will be out in 5 years. What's the point of the sentencing. They are mostly false.
  16. There is a local taxi firm (A&B) who are taking auld folk for their jag and waiting for them then taking them back home again. This morning they picked me up, took me to my GP surgery then took me home again. All free of charge. Kudos to them. My vaccine was the AstraZeneca one and I was given a note which said that I would be contacted by the practice to arrange my 2nd vaccination in approx. 10 weeks time. ps. I'm 78 years auld
  17. This is going back a bit - and you call the UK a free democratic society
  18. But surely your only choice is either independence or the status quo and I ken which one I prefer. The same reply as above. My worry would be can the chemist read it! I dinnae fancy getting pills for morning sickness instead of for my diabetes.
