  1. I think the signing of Brophy could be what turns our side into a decent team into a good one that could cause some more shocks. If Brophy can get us 10 goals before Jan then that's a good result, I would like him to have a shot up top with the lad Ross to see what a young hungry partnership can do
  2. Pretty chuffed with our start to the season. When the fixtures came out it could easily have been 0 points from 4 tough games, 6 points is a good return and hopefully we can kick on from here and finish comfortably above livi, alloa and Morton. Last night's game at falkirk could easily have gone differently had we not shipped 2 soft early goals. I think a lot of teams will be wary of us this season, saying that we still look short up front, hopefully Ross will be a wee gem and bang them in
  3. Anyone else wake up this morning with a massive grin looking at the league table?
  4. Apparently Morton sniffing around Craig too so would need to want to go part time to come to us. Would happily take another youngster similar to Chris Kane however that is a gamble, May be a plan to get an experienced head in with a youngster alongside? Not sure if finances would allow such a move though!
  5. Anyone know how much tickets for the clydebank will be? Not £10 I hope
  6. Hi guys hope you don't mind me posting on your thread. I do hope this may be of some interest to some of you. McDonald's in Greenock are holding a charity raffle to raise money for Ronald McDonald house at the New hospital In Glasgow. (Was previously at Yorkhill). We have a framed and signed Morton top being raffled off so thought that some of you guys may be interested in buying tickets. £1 a ticket and all the proceeds go to said charity. Anyone interested pop into McDonald's and any of the staff will be happy to help. Cheers
  7. You think you're trolling when you're just making a fool of yourself. Go work on some fans who might actually bite, Morton spring to mind, cheerio
  8. Haha at least give him some credit for being persistent. Obviously we are the richest club in Scotland, I heard Barr was on £26000 a week and got a Ferrari as a signing on bonus, might just be hearsay though........
  9. Please please please, the best centre half if ever seen at Dumbarton. Yes I know it won't happen but we can dream
  10. The squad looks like it's taking shape and very strong, in comparison to last year's. The problems I can see are 1. As previously mentioned we are lacking a quality striker. 2. Such a high turnaround in players can result in taking a time to gel, let's hope they click from the off. 3. Our 1st 3 league games are very tricky and could potentially have us on 0 points and playing catch up from an early stage. (Not that this has bothered us in the past as the notorious slowest starters in world football) a couple people stating that we could be potential play off contenders, here's hoping however if we finish 8th......I'll be delighted!
  11. Anyone else find the 1st round draw a bit uneven? 7 championship clubs in our section meaning a huge chance for us to draw one of them? I get the reasons behind it but a wee cup run would be nice, even if it is only the diddy cup
  12. I'm sure when the pre--season friendlies kick off we may see a few trialists who may give us an idea abut another striker? For all Smith is getting a bit of a hard time, we haven't seen him yet and we may be surprised, other teams may also under estimate the lad to our benefit
  13. Just need another 2 keepers to sign now..............
  14. Someone ought to put her in her plaice
  15. Season tickets are good value but we're realistically not going to sell any more than we currently do, pay at the gate ticket prices are ridiculous (we are not alone in Scotland with this) and it needs addressed. By time u go with someone, pint before the game get a programme, half time draw, pie, bovril, pint after the game it's nearly £70 between you, tell me this appeals to anyone other than the diehards? Even the so called 'big' clubs can't get fans in, someone drops their prices and the rest will follow, we won't due to our limited attendance!
  16. I believe the dunfermilne job was touted as a potential job for Murray before which was shot down by all angles. I can't see it being a more attractive proposition now, tbh with dunfermlines current finances he would probably get more money at DU u-15s lol
  17. It's pretty certain that Gary teale isn't going to be at st mirren next season, regardless of their financial issues surely IM will see that as a step up if they come calling, use his experience in this division to take them straight back up and a big job up here or league 1/championship in England beckons. If we keep him for next year it would be fantastic but I don't see it happening.
  18. Alloa sign Michael Chopra, why are we not in for someone of that calibre, surely we are a bigger draw than Alloa, and in need of a striker
  19. Is Antoine-curier not still a free agent? He could surely do a job for us?
  20. Surely there is an untapped market in the junior ranks, local boy Daz McKinnon is a prime example signing for Hamilton while they were in the same division we are and now a mainstay in their team. Before all the doom merchants jump on, I'm not saying that all junior players would get a game but there isn't much of a difference between the top level junior game and it's worth having a look at least, instead of signing promising youngsters that go back to their parent clubs after 6months and we go back to square 1.
  21. Surely riordan is worth a punt even on a pay as u play kind of deal. Even if he gets us 6 or 7 goals until the end of the season, that's more than Nish is likely to get.
