  1. Seen a post on SM suggesting that. Think it’s more a case of the stewards being instructed, not to allow any ‘Colours’ into the arena. Football shirts etc. Which seems sensible enough, but you could easily tell who was supporting who anyway. Not sure if that should have included a UJ waistcoat at an all British fight, in a Warrington section of the crowd, the hapless security personnel clearly thought it did. Seemed a pointless altercation.
  2. If Corbyn really wanted the keys to number 10, he’d sack this whole Brexit farce and declare that “if we win, we in the Labour Party will support the retraction of A50 and remain in the EU’’. I think he’d win with a small majority but could then request the support of both the SNP and the LibDems to offer their broad support at Westminster. He might have to lose one of two of more dangerous and unelectable members of his current shadow cabinet. But honestly think he’d have a better chance of ousting the Tories following the above position.
  3. That would be some spectacle!![emoji106]
  4. Just back at the Hotel, decent card, but feeling a wee bit deflated to see Frampton beaten so comprehensively like that. Thought all three judges were respectfully generous to Carl. He weathered the storm after the blistering pace that Warrington set in the first two, but just didn’t seem to have it in him to step up another gear beyond getting back in the fight in rounds 5 & 6. Warrington was tremendous throughout and thoroughly deserved the plaudits after a convincing win that very few predicted. His energy and work rate never waned, great to watch! Really hope that he gets the fight that HE wants in the States next up. As for Frampton, he’s probably exceeded most expectations over his career and given his following some amazing away trips. Call it a day wee man and enjoy a well earned retirement.
  5. ‘ Nollaig Shona dhuit’ pronounced Null-egg-Hunnah-GWitch if my memory serves me correctly! Merry Christmas! [emoji6]
  6. Selfish!!? I think ‘appreciative’ is nearer the mark. In the 60’s early 70’s we had absolutely nothing. Our parents worked long hours for a meagre weekly pay packet, that just about covered the bills and kept food on the table and that was it. If the old man had a few bob to go to the pub on a Friday night it was a rare treat for him. My mother never went anywhere, outside of running the home, other than the library perhaps. We didn’t have a fridge, TV or a car, nobody else on the street did either mind, we were all in the ‘same boat’. I never considered for a moment that we were quite poor though. Only when the old boy got the foundry foreman’s job could he afford to take us to a game at Ibrox now and again. Every kid got their siblings hand me downs and none of us got ‘pocket money’ there was no such thing. ‘Holidays’ might be a day trip to Saltcoats nothing more. Might be looking back with rose tinted spectacles, but I wouldn’t change it for the world, we had nothing of material value but we had everything in terms of fun & freedom to grow up in an environment that was perhaps tough but certainly caring. We lived in a proper community of friends and neighbours that is rare today. I’d say everything that has happened since and for most of my pals, job/business, home, reasonable stability for the family etc, has come through a combination of hard work AND being fortunate enough to have taken the opportunities that have arisen since the days of high unemployment in the late 70’s early 80’s. No one had any aspirations of a career or Further/Higher Education, just a job, any job was all that mattered. Today, I honestly think that makes ‘my generation’ grateful above all else. Pampered, privileged and entitled we were not.
  7. I guess so GD, but all parties appear to have their fair share of these Charlatans and who we elect to run the show on our behalf? No other position holding a similar weight of responsibility to the public seems to carry or demand such a low level of integrity.
  8. Almost as incredible as his brass necked colleague Fiona Onasanya claiming that she will deliver a Jesus like resurrection of her political career, after being found guilty of perverting the course of justice following a speeding offence. Claiming she was in good biblical company, with Joseph, Moses and Daniel, here’s what she had to say... “While God did not save them (her brother was also complicit) from a guilty verdict he did save them in it, and ensured that their greatest days of impact were on the other side of a guilty verdict”. (What does that even mean ffs??) "Of course this is equally true of Christ who was accused and convicted by the courts of his day and yet this was not his end but rather the beginning of the next chapter in his story. "Please pray that my family will find peace and strength in his perilous time through this guilty verdict." Unsurprisingly, she has refused to step down as an MP. Who elects these absolute f*ckin nutters to represent them!!?
  9. Recall a farmer’s wife from Devon/Cornwall on the radio a couple of months ago bemoaning the lack of casual labour to fulfil the harvest this year. She was pretty much saying ‘what is wrong with these people who don’t want two months solid work’? The reporter then asked, what happens to the workforce once the crop has been picked (or along those lines). The woman seriously responded with, “well they go back to wherever *they have arrived from (*presumably a mixture of other parts of the U.K. and migrant workers) and have the opportunity to come back next year”. She genuinely seemed baffled that people might not consider; 2 months hard graft on a minimum wage, travelling long distances with no promise of accommodation and no longer term prospects whatsoever as an attractive career option!!
  10. Looked like stupid woman to me, he was clearly frustrated and no one would have batted an eyelid if May had mouthed ‘stupid man’. Why not just be honest about it. That he feels the need to lie (or has been advised to) uncovers a more worrying truth.
  11. Yep, Warrington looks good value at 7-4, Frampton as tight as 4-7 with some bookies. Think it’s a much closer call than that. Also none of the usual shite flinging from either fighter, that has sadly become the norm in the pre-fight build up. Just two decent professional lads all set to go. Good stuff.
  12. Being mid transaction using an app or web portal and being interrupted by a pop up asking you to complete a user survey entitled something like ‘tell us how we’re doing’? or ‘are you enjoying using this app’? It drives me f*ckin nuts. Let me at least complete what I came in here for first eh ffs!?? I realise cookies have their purpose, but don’t let it slow down the whole process. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve just dropped an exchange if I’ve been unable to dump the survey immediately.
  13. Another away win at the weekend as Norwich drop two, seeing Leeds go top! Good stuff[emoji106]
  14. Talking about blame, who did Craig Levein decide to point the finger at yesterday??
  15. Yet you still have an insatiable urge to post on this thread with tired and predictable posts (usually disparaging insults) that have anything BUT to do with Rangers on the park! Mindless...’shut up’ you say??
  16. Hard to tell who MOST of em support on here tbh, they all just seem to merge into one big f*ckin mess when it comes to football.
  17. Think like most people, Warrington's win over *Selby came as a huge shock. The head collision(s) aside, he outworked his opponent without question. Frampton won comfortably enough against Luke Jackson in August but hasn’t hugely impressed since losing his belt and unbeaten record to Santa Cruz early last year in Vegas. I’m still going to go for Frampton though. Neither fighter is heavy on the gloves but think it will be full of energy (hopefully), they’ll both engage and deliver an entertaining fight with Frampton winning on points by a couple of rounds. That’s me, what do you reckon? *Briefly met Lee Selby in Vegas (for the Frampton/Santa Cruz fight), after his own bout had unfortunately been called off the day before the fight, seemed a really decent lad btw.
  18. Heading down to Manchester Friday night for the fight next weekend, a huge following for both fighters heading across from Leeds and over from Belfast, should be a cracking atmosphere!
  19. Haha! Seriously it’s usually either running our daughter back to Uni or with the boy heading to the football. I might be an auld duffer but their music is shite!
  20. 26 Years of being married to her has gradually taken its toll, I prefer the quiet life, just say nothing and whinge on here instead! [emoji6]
  21. You’re quite happy quietly listening to your regular radio station starting out on a car journey, when your passenger pipes up, ‘do you mind if I put some music on’? then connect up and proceed to run through their entire Apple Music playlist of repetitive, banal drivel, whilst skipping, pausing & repeating tracks, interspersed with a promise of ‘you’re gonna absolutely LOVE this’. You quietly seethe for the next hour or so, wishing only, that you could hurl both them and their infernal iPhone out of the fuckin window.
  22. Only for a maximum of 12 Months though GD, we’ve wasted the last 2 years achieving precisely nothing. Yes we would continue to pay in, but would have access to a single market in the meantime to cushion the transitional period before we eventually leave within an agreed deal? Don’t get me wrong, I’d much prefer that A50 was withdrawn altogether, but surely this presents a better option than ‘No Deal’, if we are unable to participate in a 2nd Ref.
  23. What would be the issue with a rolling 12 month extension on the backstop (Welshbain’s suggestion), until a permanent trade deal is agreed and secured by both sides? If an extension of the transition period is required then a further 12 months is granted. If a deal is struck beforehand the Backstop is removed and dismantled. It seems a fairly straightforward and practical solution to me, which makes me feel there’s something obviously wrong with this arrangement that I am blindly missing!? [emoji47]
  24. This. Extending the transition stage on a rolling 12 month agreement would put a timeline on a temporary backstop and satisfy both sides, until a final trade deal is reached upon, no?
